Problem with software - Desire 820 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently bought HTC Desire 820us in Bosnia where I live. I belive this phone was imported somewhere from Asia. Some weird hybrid of stock Android and Sense UI is installed on my phone. When I press software update settings crash. Also when playing some games screen just freezes, sound loops and I have to restart it. Sometimes when I press power button some weird green, purple and black screen appears. I press power button several more times and it's back to normal. I want to install original Sense UI, can someone help me and tell me how? Here's some screen shots

[Q] Occasional massge: "camera has stopped working"

Hello guys, im a new user to android, moved from IOS and bought the Note 2.
it is 3 months old and the previous owner said he made no changes to it what so ever, the rom version is "N7100XXDLK7 N7100PRTDLK5 - Download - Poland (Play)"
i dont know how to check if its rooted or not but it should be stock just like out of the box.
so my problem is this, the phone works 100% fine but sometime when i open the camera it goes to the camera screen. with buttons and everything but in the square where you should see the picture you see pitch black. nothing.
then the phone stuck for like 5 secs, goes to home screen and shows a massage "unfortunately camera has stopped working", then if ill go and open the camera again it works 100% ok.
this also happens with 3rd side applications that uses the camera like "camera zoom fx" and so.
heres the picture of the screen in the camera mode

any help on what should i do to get the camera working 100% of the times guys? thanks!
First of all your device running on old ROM which have SDS brick bug, and can be brick any time without any reason
So i reommend to update to latest version, this also should fix issue
On existing ROM, meantime try
setting - appl manager-All - camera - clear data
Here you can find latest ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696
unfortunetely there is no update for your carrier (poland - play), but you can flash any other like poland unbranded

Funny thing is that im not from poland nor the device is, im from israel so im guessing i should use the israel rom but i see two options:
"N7100XXDMA6 N7100OJKDMA3 - Download - Israel
N7100XXDMA6 N7100OJKDMA3 - Download - Israel (Orange/Partner)"
is there any difference?
thanks!
go with
"N7100XXDMA6 N7100OJKDMA3 - Download - Israel
bcoz below said ROM is carrier specific (orange/Partner) and may have some carrier bloatware
N7100XXDMA6 N7100OJKDMA3 - Download - Israel (Orange/Partner)"
I had the problem too just dont worry its a stupid app juat uninstall transparent screen, crack screen etc. Or any other suspecious app download an anti virus software too. And then restart phone BINGO!!!

Thanksyou all, i will try, for the first time ever, to burn a new rom to my device, just a quick question before i do so:
after installing the new rom does all of my info/apps are gone? the device will be cleaned? or would my apps and info be saved?
also, should i delete some things from the phone before burning a new rom? thank!
Nothing required to remove before flashing
If everything go smoothly, you will losse nothing
But sometime after flashing you may get bootloop, or stuck at samsung logo.
in case of such circumstances you need to reboot to recovery (vol up+home+power)
and have to wipe cache and wipe data, and doing so, you will lose all data on device as well on int SD memory
So i recommend to backup important data before flashing.

Bump, wiped everything and installed a new clean rom and im still getting "camera has stopped working" massages, also i have a 2 seconds lag between pressing the camera icon until the camera activates, does all note 2 got this lag?
Thanks.
Thanks for your great work it works very well.
I only faced a problem when I try to open the gallery from the Camera it says that ""camera has stopped working"
Maybe because it uses the Gallery which is not included in your ROM.
Please help.

[GUIDE][TUTORIAL]How-TO - Flash Kernel, TWRP and Stock Recovery (JB and KK)

I've seen many of you guys who probably are new to Android and the adb/fastboot world so I decied to create a simple understandable guide to flash custom recoveries or kernels through such tools...
First off we'll start with the basics...
Code:
[B][COLOR="Red"]I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong.
If your phone turns into a beautiful and useless brick.
The procedures described below have been tested by me since several years ago and never had an issue,
never the less remeber
YOU ARE DOING THIS BY YOURSELF AND TO YOUR PHONE, NOT ME.[/COLOR][/B]
You need the Following:
Huawei Ascend P6
Your phone needs to be on either KitKat Beta, B118CN or B120CN
Drivers for the Phone Installed
Huawei PC Suite installed (This is only to have the Fastboot driver that comes along with it)
abd&fastboot.zip (attached to this post)
USB Debuggin Option enabled in "Developer Options"
Gutts to play along with your phone internals...
Utilizing both ADB and Fastboot to flashAssuming your phone boots just fine and it is being recognized by the computer go to the place where you have decompressed the adb&fastboot.zip file.
Pressing both "Shift Key" + Right click should bring a menu like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Click on "Open command window here"
You should see a CMD window pop up in front of you, now the fun will begin:
1.- Connect your phone to the PC and then type in the Command Window:
Code:
adb devices
2.- You should see an output stating your device as online.
3.- Type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
4.- Your Phone now should be "stuck" on Huawei Ascend Logo, don't panic we are in fastboot mode now.
5.- Here we can erase or flash anything we want to the phone you be extremely careful with what you are doing.... To flash kernel and recovery we can do as follows:
Code:
Flashing a Kernel:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Code:
Flashing TWRP Recovery:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-twrp.img
Code:
Flashing Stock Recovery:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Once it finish you'll see an output like the following
Now just do:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Your phone will boot into system, to go to recovery while having the phone connected to the Computer do:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
KEY NOTES
For all of this to work your Phone needs to be on either latest KitKat Beta, B118 or B120 CN firmwares. International firmwares do not support flashing custom kernels or recoveries.
If you are flashing a Kernel make sure the kernel is named as "boot.img"
If you are flashing TWRP recovery name it as "recovery-twrp.img"
If you are flashing stock recovery name it as "recovery.img"
Any file you are flashing (either kernel or recovery) must be placed inside the folder abd&fastboot
I'll create another Post or Thread with information and usage of each TWRP item....
More to come...

Hi,
I also successfully managed to get the Lightningkat ROM working. But I have a small problem. Whenever I shut down or reboot the phone, it automaticaly boots into the TWRP. Can this be disabled?
Also one question for those who have Lightningkat RC01 - my Anutut score is only 11k, Am I doing something wrong (with B125 I got something like 15k). I also noticed there is no power manager in this rom.

I had the same problem. Always booted in TWRP, but it solved itself after 4/5 reboots. I have no idea what I did to solve it :/
I got 13k, but remember antutu does not say a lot. A high antutu score means you can play better games. It gives a indication. The only game I have on my phone is flappy bird and it did run better on android 4.2 but on kitkat i have much more ram available and I think the ui runs a lot smoother.
-edit-
also. try to delete some root apps. most of the tweaks run in the background and lower your antutu score. Same goes for normal apps.
Yeah I know the benchmark doesn't say alot, but on B125 I was constatly getting 14-15k and with LightningKat the score should be higher, not lower. At least in the screenshots there is something like 17,5k points in Antutu. The battery life and fluentness of the UI seem to be also better on B125.
I'm moving back to B125 and wait for an official Kitkat release.

Guides Unlock boot-loader, installing Recovery and Custom Rom and MODS

first of all, im not developer im just sharing what i use
hello everyone.
i saw many in here asking about how to root or unlock boot-loader or flashing custom rom
so i will share what i have done (( again im just sharing and im not responsible of any damage ))
***first step is unlocking bootloader***i used this Unlock thanx to http://lenovo-forums.ru/
now lets d the steps of unlocking
UNLOCKING WILL FORMAT EVERYTHING so backup what u need
1. download and extract the app of unlocking will use it in step 5
2. go to Settings - About phone - device information and tap on "Build number" until you become a developer.
3. Go to Settings - Developer options - tap on OEM unlocking - then tan op Android debugging.
4. go to home in mobile and plug USB
5. go to the unlocking app and click on A7010_unlock
6. it will go to fastboot mode READ what asks for and click on volume up when it says so!
7. after it finished keep holding in power til it restart
8. it will take about 3-5 minutes to start
9. congratulations ur K4 is unlocked
NOW LETS GIVE IT TWRP RECOVERY i use @mohancm Recovery its stable and no sdcard or internal sd bugs . but if u want anything else u can use its up to you!
now lets do the right steps for flashing custom Recovery
1. Recovery already in this ZIP file download it and unzip
2. now hold you mobile
3. go to Settings - About phone - device information and tap on "Build number" until you become a developer.
4. Go to Settings - Developer options - active Android debugging.
5. go to home in mobile and plug USB
6. go to the TWRP folder and click on TWRP_Install
7. it will go to fastboot mode and install recovery by it self
8. after it finished DONT REBOOT TO NORMAL MODE
9. keep holding power and volumes up and down till you see Lenovo start up Screen . now keep holding the volumes up and down keys till u get black screen, wait a bit and recovery will open
10. congratulations ur K4 is unlocked and have TWRP recovery .
now lets Root it or install custom Romits up to you what ROM you want to use but i like resurrection-remix-m its bugles and smooth and fast

You need to wait at least a minute after flashing recovery.
Don't touch phone till then.
After a min press power button once. You can unlock the recovery.
After that go to setting in recovery. Change brightness to 10% . small issue. But bothers lot in beginning.

Hello...
8 - "DONT REBOOT TO NORMAL MODE"?
I do not understand step 9 ... I did not understand which buttons to press. I may not be able to restart in recovery mode.
Root = flash the zip with TWRP. Right?
Xposed = flash sdk23 / arm64 zip with TWRP. Right?
I couldn't get TWRP work in my phone, not sure what step I misunderstood or missed out. After the unlock process the phone will be reset and I need to set up dev, usb debugging again after normal reboot. After renaming/replacing recovery.img run the install twrp script. The phone will reboot into recovery and it normally says "press any key to continue" until the process is completed, then wait for a few minutes. However when I reboot to recovery mode it's still "Lenovo recovery" not TWRP. I did it about 3x with the same result. Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Lineage OS Splash Screen/Remove bootloader unlock warning on Mi A1 (tissot)

Lineage OS Splash screen for Mi A1 a.k.a. tissot
Unlocked bootloader required for installation!
Not tried on other phone models, neither I suggest you to...
Splash screen is the content (images) on the screen that appears before bootanimation (the phone start-up animation).
As you know, once we unlock our phone's bootloader, we get an ugly message reading 'Bootloader has been unlocked, device could not be verified...' every time the phone starts/restarts:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So, I created this splash screen replacement to hide that annoying warning. Also, I do most of the tinkering with custom ROMs on my Mi A1 at night, and restarting with a white screen on full brightness kind of makes my eyes bleed, so every possible screen is now with black background. Refer images:
The critical error screen, and fastboot screen are kept stock, as those were black already:
Pre-requisites:
Unlocked bootloader
A PC with adb drivers
A backup of stock Splash-screen (Refer Below)
New splash file to flash (Refer below)
Installation steps:
Reboot to fastboot/bootloader mode or start the phone by pressing [Vol down] + [Power].
Connect the phone to PC and paste the splash file to folder containing the adb files.
While in the adb folder, press [Shift]+[Right Click] and select 'Open Powershell Window Here'/'Open Command Prompt Window Here'
Enter command 'fastboot devices'. This will return the list of devices connected. This is to ensure that your device has been connected properly.
Enter command 'fastboot flash splash <spash image name>.img', where <spash image name> is to be replaced with the name of image you are flashing. Once the command finishes executing, power on the phone, and Voila!
Confirmed to be working on Pie based Roms(Personally Tested)

I have attached the stock splash file in pre-requisite steps, in case you run into an error or don't like the new splash or want to visit service center, and want to revert.

No, I mean screenshot for the "lineage splashscreen"
Has anyone else tested this splash image?
This is it as a flashable zip. Thank me later.
Is it possible to make a black version of the stock Xiaomi splash animation like in the OP? Tired of seeing the warning screen as well but I'm currently on PE so the LOS one doesn't really fit.

Added stock splash dark version with warning removed https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ory7EvHkzq_UiWjGXeJmxRxumx6aDaGj
Sorry for the late reply. Moved to a different country
I installed the StockDark splash screen and when i rebooted the phone the image apeared laggy (like a TV without signal, with green lines all over the screen), tried it again and it happened aswell, so I installed the LineageDark one and works great.
Thank you, hope you can fix it
Can someone please provide a flashable zip file for Stock Black ?

In this one both the fastboot screen and splash screen are just noisy image with lines over and over (as explained by posts above). Used the lineage black one for now. That one works with no problem.

Really sorry man, to you and to all others who flashed the buggy image. The thing is I have reverted my Mi A1 to fully stock, and have bought OnePlus 7 as my primary device.
Nevertheless, I will be posting an updated and fixed dark stock image tonight or tomorrow night. Please check if it solves the problem.
