HTC Desire 820s stuck in a boot loop - Help me please! - Desire 820 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When i tried to flash an unofficial CMW recovery image file using flashify app, my htc desire 820s stuck in a boot loop. I tried to use SP Flash tool to fix the problem but i can't even turn off my phone to proceed.
I tried to power the phone off but it turns itself on all by itself
SP Flash Tool - Error message : https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=!AN53tkzqk0fbScM&cid=688CDDEDE5596852&id=688CDDEDE5596852!1926&parId=root&o=OneUp
I also tried to wipe cache partition and data in recovery mode to solve the problem but without success.
I refer to the link below for installing CWM recovery and to recover the system:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-820/development/desire-820s-root-cwm-recovery-stock-t3251639
I'm using an HTC desire 820s kitkat 4.4.4 mediatek processor build version 1.20.707.2 . Help me please! :crying:

@Gibz97 SP Flash Tool v5.1352.01. Thanks for responding.
I recently fixed the problem by flashing the "flashable" stock rom from the post on the link above using the default recovery mode.
Fortunately it works but i lost all my data. Anyway thank you so much

Unfortunately that version of SP Flash Tool doesn't work for our phone
Only v5.1532.00 works. It seems your kernel was corrupt, you would have flashed the boot.img only and preserved your data . I'm glad you solved it though

do one "press volume up ,down and power key at the same time for atleast 10 seconds

Read this and flash boot.img inside cyanogenmod zip file that you download and installed on phone! Put boot.img from cyanogenmod.zip to extracted folder from link above.
To put phone to fastboot mode press volume down and power button in the same time and hold volume button until phone startup in hboot than select fastboot!
Good luck!

Are you sure that you have One X international with quad core tegra3 or AT&T dual core One X?
And maybe this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904 and all in one toolkit http://androidfiles.org/hasoon2000/...(International)/One_X_All-In-One_Kit_v2.4.rar is better solution for you ! Just take your time!
And just to mention, to flash and use CM10.1 you need Hboot that supports Jelly Bean because CM is based on 4.2.2 jelly bean - you need hboot 1.34 or above i think (1.39 is latest)
Wiping
Hey
Are you sure you have flashed the right boot image on the right way? (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
If yes, try wiping all of your cache, Dalvik cache, and do a factory/data reset (can be found all 3 at CWM Recovery)
Let me know soon!

[Q] Stuck in Cyanogenmod 11 bootscreen

Hello,
I tried to install the cyanogenmod 11 to my phone today,it's the first custom rom that i ever install on an Android phone. I followed all the steps provided by the cyanogenmod team but the phone it's stuck at the boot image and won't pass it. The steps i made are these:
1.Downloaded the latest stable build of cyanogenmod
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=endeavoru&type=snapshot
I used the latest one M8.
2.Downloaded the GAPPS from here
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
I downloaded the CM11 file, the fist file that is in the list.
3.Downloaded the clockwork recovery from here:
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
4.Put the downloaded cyanogenmod and GAPPS in a folder named Cyanogen in my storage
5. Installed the custom recovery of the clockwerk recovery
6. Wipe factory data/devlik cache
7. Installed the cyanogenmod zip and the gapps zip
8. Reboot, and not let the phone enter the cyanogenmod screen, pressed the volume down and power button to take it to fastboot
9. Installed the boot.img that is in the cyanogenmod zipfile
10. Reboot
After all of this the phone still doesn't boot up,it's just stuck at the cyanogenmod logoscreen, the wheel is spinning, sometimes freezes but always spinning, what do i have to do to make my phone work?
Please help,i need to use my phone in a few hours because i have to go to work.
Thank you verry much and excuse the long post.

Ooow,ok,i undestand,i flash the boot, after that the cwmrecovery and after that i do all the cyanogenmod stuff. One more question if it's not to much. If i do all of this stuff and still don't have a luck with cyanogenmod..or i just get tired of it, i had made a backup for the stock rom. If i use the cyanogenmod for a while and i want the Stock Rom back, can i just revert to the backup i made in clockwork mod earlier?

in fastboot flash boot.img then go into recovery and flash rom
you already flashed recovery.img and you already flashed boot.img and gapps and did a full wipe so no need to do that again
yes but you need to downgrade your recovery to cwm 5.X

Sir,
Firstly i installed htc sync manager and updated all my drivers .
Then i made a backup of all my pictures..videos..chats.. etc.
Once i was sure that nothing is there in the phone that is imp. And has not been backed up , i coppied the android 4.4.4 rom and gapps to my phone
I had hasoon 2000s toolkit for one x .
So i first used vol down button + power button to enter into fastboot mode and connected it to pc so that it says fastboot usb .
Then from there i think i didnt flash boot.img (and probabily thats the root caise of the problems im having .
Then i wiped my dalvic cache..partition cache and wipe data/factory reset
After that i clicked on install from zip and installed the cm11 endevouru xxxx xxx.zip file . Once it was complete i rebooted my phone to bootloader . Then again to recovery and then back to install zip . Now i installed gapps .
Once done i rebooted my phone . And now in the phone the cyanogenmod logo appears with an arrow going round and round encircling that logo.. and arrow sometimes stops for some moment but nothing happens .. the phone doesnot boot ahead .. wat to do im helpless sir please help me.. im in big trouble. Thank you.

I've quickly gone through this thread and am missing 1 important piece of info :
What is your hboot number and on what rom/software number were you before all this ?
If you hboot is lower than 1.3x than you can't install this rom at all.
And there is no need to reboot the bootloader between flashing the rom.zip and the GAPPS.zip. do these 2 straight after one another inside the recovery.
help me please

Use SP tools again to download (flash) complete stock ROM again. This time, use "Firmware Upgrade" option.
To fix IMEI issue, install Android CDC Gadget Drivers and use MAUI Meta 3G tool. Use this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-CokpIVGPBw
Hi GokulNC,
I tried flashing it but still its the same condition.
When I did a memory test from SP FLASH TOOL, it sayid NAND flash was not detected.

So, if your phone is booting up, it means you can access boot loader menu. Press Volume up+power button and choose fastboot mode. Unlock the boot loader and flash any ROM or Nandroid backup from anyone. Otherwise format all the partitions from ADB and try reflashing the stock ROM using SP Tools

You cannot just say that stock recovery is not working.
To work with stock recovery, you need to hold power button and press volume up bottom top access the options. That's how it works. Moreover, you cannot do much with stock recovery. Its features are limited. In this case, custom recovery helps

Which recovery you were using while performing upgrade?
I had so many error when updating to lolipop. Memory full, error as above, bootloop and all. What I did is I flashed the stock recovery, did a full wipe, back to stock and updated to lolipop. Had no issue at all after that
It was cwm that i used to back up my system.
But i need to tell you that i made a factory reset before installing the update because the lack of space on phone storage.

i just flashed a stock recovery (from my pc using adb command) that one for my device i actually extracted and took it from the OTA update package. then it was fine until the installation stoped as i faced the problem of the platform .xml file error(which becuase of the rooting process that change the permissions to write on the sd card) then i fixed it. Then the installation completed sucssesfully.
HTC Desire 816 Lollopop update failed installation !

do you have the OTA file? (usually saved in download folder on your internal memory). if so, follow this to have stock recovery and update. but if possible, don't do the "5: Relock your bootloader" part
Stock recovery ?
I have got the OTA file copies to the computer !!
What should I do now ?
I have got Recovery File ... i.e., recovery.img
I dont understand how to use that !

[Solved]Recovery mode error in A1 running marshmallow

I myself faced this and if I am not wrong you are also facing this problem.
After upgrading A1 to marshmallow you will see there is no recovery mode in your device, when you start your recovery mode only there is dead Android boot animation.
Though u have tried many times to flash recovery like CWM But all in vain.
I have a solution for them,
After flashing the recovery.img file don't type reboot command just use the following command
 fastboot boot recovery.img
It will bring you on recovery screen ,then install your desired Zip.
Every time you need recovery mode just connect it to pc in fastboot mode and type that command to your recovery mode.

I hope that part how to go to revory known to all ,So I skip it.After Marshmallow first update it does not matter you are in Stock Rom or Custom Rom ,there will be no custom Recovery mode however how hard you try to flash CWM or TWRP .I tried in 3 handset, all given same result .So, I mention how to get to Custom Recovery in an optional way.

LOL
When you see android bot logo, you are in recovery mode. But recovery menu options are hidden.
After you see the dead bot logo, hold power up for 5 seconds and then hit vol up (or hold both for 5 seconds) All recovery options will be visible after this.
Its a bad idea to use a pc every time you want to boot into recovery LOL
Hi guyz can anyone provide me stock recovery.img of build no. MOB30N PLZZ
