Best Root Method for CyanogenMod 13 alpha - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I currently have the option to "activate" root in the developer options or via the SuperSU app which I installed during the tutorial I followed to install CyanogenMod.
Can you indicate me which is the best option? Developer Options or SuperSU app?

Thanks.
Can you explain the reason briefly? I would like to understand the main differences.

am using udated supersu.zip
directly flashed it, works like a charm
hate that #sign which you get if you enable root from developer options

[Q] Triangle Away - New feature "system modified"

Hi
Yesterday I received an update for this app and it included a new feature to get back the system status to "normal" instead of "custom'"
I'd like to know if someone has already tried this new feature and what is your conclusion?
I don't really understand... In the app we now have:
ALLOW TRACKER TO RUN
Enabling this feature MAY cause the system status under Settings to become "normal", but MAY also cause the bootloader status become "custom". Experiment as needed.

Where could we see the bootloader status? What are the consequences?
The below option is:
SYSTEM MODIFIED WORKAROUND
System executable needed to implement workaround not found

Thanks in advance.
The tracker feature used to work for me - doesn't anymore
As for the workaround, do you use SuperSU? AFAIK that's the only SU that's supported by the feature.
Well I don't know....
On RootBox we have a Setting to manage root permissions but there is no Super User and no SuperSU app in the drawer...

It resets the counter just fine, just doesn't reset the system status from custom to Samsung official. TA 2.37 could do that on the official firmware.

So this feature is useless... We already know how to come back to normal status on an official firmware.

5.1.1 best way to hide root?

I had to unroot my p600 running 5.1.1 because a few apps that I use now have root check and they refuse to let me use them unless I'm unrooted. (It pisses me off, and I won't reveal the apps since they may find this post if they decide to do a Web search for their app name. Just know that there are no alternatives for these apps).
What is the best and fool proof way to stay rooted, but make apps who check for root think you're unrooted?

I think that with wannam xposed you can do it.

Can you give more details? Last I checked (it's been a while), Xposed wasn't actually available for Lollipop.
What module is needed and is best to use?

Xposed for lollipop & marshmellow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Xposed for stock rooted samsung ROMs http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
The first one will cause a bootloop on stock samsung ROMs. The 2nd is an unofficial variant that is supposed to fix that issue. There is a module titled "RootCloak" that is compatible with lollipop and marshmellow rooted devices. Hope that helps :good:

If 'RootCloak' doesn't work (it doesn't seem to work on all apps) there is something out there called 'MinMinHide' and that works really well. I use both and so far every applications I need to hide from Root is successfully hidden.
Best regards.

Anyone get Viper4android to run on MM 6.0.1 rooted?

I tried yesterday without success. Installed busybox then viper4android. No workie. Driver won't install. Searched around and found this driverless v4a and still no go.
Anyone out there get V4A working on MM? If so please share.
How - which V4A file specifically.
Thank You, Jack

Viper4Android FIX 4 Marshmallow 6.0.1.
After doing some diging around i found the solution you will need to be ROOTED ROOTED ROOTED of course and you will need insert subpolicy for Viper4Android cause your kernel is enforcing assuming your running stock firmware so here you go and thanks does not go to me but to the person who wrote it and he knows who he is so a big shout out to the kernel killer.....View attachment ViPER4Android-supolicy.zip
Forgot to you all after inserting the zip via TWRP or whatever else you folks might be useing for a recovery you will need to go into settings on Viper4Android and goto FX compatible mode and click on compatible after you installed the driver and presto Viper4Android will be up and runing ....
Rooted already no????

this is for anyone facing problems on 6.0.1 and the steps i followed to got it working on note 4 sm-n910f on stock MM 6.0.1
1st ) install v4a app, i am using 2.5..0.5 version available on official website https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 but i guess older version will also work as long as they support android 6.0
2nd) after installing v4a ,open it ,grant it root access and let it install driver. When it ask for reboot ,reboot device
3rd) after reboot,go to titanium backup and freeze soundalive and adapt sound
4th) boot into recovery and then flash v4a subpolicy.zip
5th) after reboot ,head to v4a app and swipe right and click on setting and select compatible mode
6th) now turn on master switch and change a bunch a of things. i recommend turning bass and clarity up
7th) now play some music. head again to v4a app and turn off master switch to see if you see any change in sound . Aim is to see whether driver is processing or not as the side menu showing driver status will gray out when you select compatible mode in settings.
report back if this method works

Sound Mods for Moto Z2 Force

Has anyone successfully installed Viper4Andriod after rooting with TWRP 3.1.1-0? If so, can you please post a guide or direct me to one. I've been able to get everything to say "Yes" or "Enabled" except for "Processing".

Which version (2.94???), I can't get anything to actually write the system with TWRP

Have you tried out anything else besides Dolby + Viper4Arise? I installed these two plus a couple other options, but Viper is not working at all with Oreo.
Does anyone know how to uninstall deuteronomy? Their xda page says to reflash ROM, but I am not using a ROM! I just have root and TWRP.
Picked up a z2 force yesterday, got it rooted this morning and desperately searching for a sound mod. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Anyone try this yet? http://androidexpert35developer.altervista.org/xtrememusic-audio-enahncement/
