I can't get root after applying the T989UVKL1 update using Odin. Here's what I did.
I had root with stock everything before, no customer rom or kernel.
1. I downloaded the T989UVKL1 update
2. Opened up Odin
3. Put phone in download mode
4. Flashed the update
5. Rebooted into system and verified update completed successfully.
6. shut down phone
7. repeated steps 2 and 3
8. Flashed recovery successfully
9. Rebooted into system
10. Turned off phone.
11. Booted into recovery.
12. Attempted to flash su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip but the flash failed with installation aborted error
13. Fixed permissions
14. Tried step 12 again, again failed with installation aborted error
15. Rebooted into system and deleted and copied su file back onto sd card.
16. Rebooted into recovery again and repeated step 12 but again, installation aborted.
Any ideas? Can't seem to root now. I know some have said the phone still roots after the installation aborted error, but I have confirmed that my phone is not rooted, the installation of SU is indeed failing.
take the superuser file you downloaded and put on your sd card and rename it with a file explorer ...dont matter which one the one that comes with the phone is fine , rename it to "update" and thats it ,do not add .zip you dont need to . the go back into recovery and flash , if get error then flash again ,do not reboot recovery jut keep reflashing the file until it is successful, i had to reflash 3 times. this should work
I got this working by fixing permissions a second time and trying again. Thanks for the help.

Then Boot into recovery (Power + half a second the two volume buttons).
Now you are on TWRP RECOVERY.
For Rooting: Now select install zip and then navigate to SuperSU-v2.71.zip

What about 'CWM Recovery' ?
If one succeeds with this TWRP and rooting, then I think one can change TWRP to CWM using flashify or Rashr, provided he/she should confirm that the 'CWM Recovery' will work on Lenovo A 7000 a with android 6.0 OS. But I do not know if the 'CWM' recovery thatwas used earlier when we were on android 5.0, will still work with android 6.0 or not. Can anybody confirm?
this is working men thanks:angel:
Like a charm

Use the stock rom found here to go back to factory settings using the stock marshmallow rom. Make sure that you flash using SP Flash Tool as instructed in the link. This will replace TWRP with stock recovery.
Afterwards, you can reinstall TWRP and root, etc.

I think you have copied the SuperSU-v71.zip in external storage and in TWRP you are searching in internal storage. If it is so the paste it in internal or change storage selection at the time of installing zip.
And paste the zip in root of the storage not in any folder.
As i can see this is your 1st post.
I think this will help you.
Mounting issue with TWRP
After switching sdcard as internal storage. The file manager only shows the ext. Sdcard so from where we can access the internal Sdcard to put that Supersu.zip.And the TWRP only mount only internal Sdcard. Not able to mount ext. Sdcard plz. Help!

Hello, I have tried flashing the file "no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip" in TWRP, but still am getting this error message. Do you know why?
Edit: I tried again a few times. Here is how it worked for me: After starting into TWRP, I first did "Wipe" -> "Format Data". Then I flashed the file above and it was fine. Not sure why it did not worked before.
Hello
i was tired of my old android 6.0 not rooted and i decided to update my g3.
I downgraded to v30c via lg flash tool by installing this kdz file:
D85530C_00_0211.kdz (I'm Italian and mine is a d855)
once installed the v30c started with an error at boot but I did not give it importance.
I installed then:
- KingRoot4.5.6.apk
- AutoRecMMD855.apk
and then via twrp
- HacerPermisivo
- BETA-SuperSU-v2.52
once I did this I wanted to install RR-O-v6.1.0-20180611-d855-Official and after doing the various wipe cache devilk etc. I tried to install it without backing up.
during the installation I received an error:
E: unknow command [log]
E: error executing binary updater in zip '/ sdcard / RR-O-v6.1.0-20180611-d855-Official.zip'
error flashing zip
the teleofno no longer has an operating system and stops at the boot logo. the only thing I can do and (by pressing 2 times volume - and the power button) re-enter twrp
so reading here on the forum someone said to install a baseband
and via twrp I flashato before RADIO_D855_21C_Step-han but also with this I get the same error error executing updater binary in zip
then I also flasked RPM_TZ_D855_30B_Step-han.zip
but nothing to do.
What should I do at this point to get the rr 6.1.0 on my g3 ??? please help me I'm desperate
thank you all and sorry for my english (i'm italian)
