Dear community, I know this was probably requested or asked a million times, but I am having a hard time finding easy to execute or atleast a properly detailed tutorial on how to execute this.
I've bought ASUS TF600TL and it came with Windows 8.1 RT, I am now limited to the few apps and I cannot do much with it, thus I would like to downgrade it to Windows 8.0 RT, which allow me
to jailbreak it and use the hefty amount of already compiled apps.
Would anyone be able to assist me with this? It would be greatly appriciated.
Regards

You are not aware of the released-since-a-while RT8.1 jailbreak exploit?

Hi all,
I ended up downloading all the versions of the RT Jailbreak tool but still haven't succeeded to jailbreak windows RT on my Samsung Ativ Tab.
Any idea what could be the problem?
When I press volume down, it crashes and displays the blue screen with the REFERENCE_BY_POINTER error.
I installed all the updates, gave it about one to two minutes each time I ran it but still couldn't jailbreak.
I even restored the tab to factory settings but the jailbreak tool still fails.
Anyone who has done it on the ativ tab?

Jailbreak? Do you mean trying to get past the required purchase of Windows? That sort of thing is not allowed on this site.
What exactly is "jailbreak" for an RT?

No, it's not that at all.
It's a way to allow for running programs compiled for ARM that are not signed by Microsoft directly. Without a jailbreak, you can only run apps that have the Microsoft signing.
There's a big thread about the jailbreak, and then apps that have been recompiled but aren't signed by MS so they require the jailbreak to run.
RT Jailbreak Tool
Desktop Apps Ported to RT
OP should ask in the RT jailbreak thread.

There are some that run RT. I think the Tab's are the ones that run RT, the ATIV Smart are the ones that run x86.

OK - mine's a SmartPC Pro - runs Win8
Anybody know if it'd be possible to install Windows 8 on an Intel-based smartphone such as Droid Razr i? The device should theoretically be compatible with Windows 8 as it's just using a pretty standard Intel Atom x86 CPU. The 32-bit version of Windows 8 should work. Anybody tried this before or know how I could approach this?
This should be revisited. The Asus Zenfone 2 came out and specs-wise, it is more powerful than many tablets out there.

Agreed! However, back when I asked this question, some people said it was not possible due to lack of driver support and possibly some issue with the bootloader. But when has that ever stopped XDA? This would be a really cool project and would really be awesome if you could install Windows 10 and use the Continuum feature. Unlike Windows 10 Mobile, this version of continuum would still allow x86 desktop apps to be run on the phone.

I completely agree with you. Chances are MS won't let Asus make this happen but Windows 10 Pro in your pocket and it can send/receive calls+text messages? What's next?...Snapchat?? - one can dream.

It doesn't matter if Microsoft allows it or not. I'm sure people will be able to get an unlocked bootloader for this phone or make one if Asus doesn't provide it. From there, I'd imagine it'd be something along thing lines of pre-installing Windows 10 onto a microSD card and then boot from it on the phone. The hard part would be making it boot and finding the necessary drivers. I wish I'd know more about where to start but my development skills are more centered around app development, not necessarily OS and hardware.

Please don't make me wants this more than I already do...
Hello XDA.
I have a question.
Can i use Android Studio on a Surface 2 with Windows RT?
Nothing find on Google
Hope anyone can help me.
Greetings
Until a jailbreak for RT 8.1 is released, you can only run web apps, (some) scripts, software from MS that is specifically for RT (like the debug tools), and store apps. That is it.
Yes, it sucks. No, I don't know why MS crippled their OS into near-uselessness. Yes, we're working on that jailbreak. No, I can't give you an ETA (watch - but don't be a nuisance in, please - the threads in RT D&H).
Hello GoodDayToDie.
Thanks for your answere.
Good to know.

Try the Windows_RT_8.1_Development_Tool_V2.0 you can find it around here
You can factory reset to unpatch your tablet. I used UMCI disable tool from RoL and it worked for me.
