SP605 3G - replaced Motherboard from IFixt - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hello,
So I got this Samsung Note 10.1 32G 2014 ver from a friend, before he gave it to me he told me he rooted and installed a diff ROM then he was'nt able to use the tablet anymore turned into a brick or something, so he opened it and tried to play with the motherboard broke up some important piece, I ordered a used motheboard from (I would put a link but since I'm still new < 10 posts I can't )
I replaced the old motherbaord and now the tablet is running the problem is the touch won't work if I try to use my fingers and sometimes work If I try to use the Styllus I tried using a different Styllus from a samsung galaxy note 3 I own without any success which works.
I was wondering what shold I install as to what Kernel + OS, I don't mind going back to original OS but how do I know what can I install as the motherboard I got says on SP 605 #2 and SP 601 #2 on 2 different metal cages that sits on it.
Thanks for your time and help

Ok so I upgraded the OS to lolipop via Smart Switch still the tablet won't respond to touch I think the problem is the kernel that was probably installed, S-pen isn't working properly, I searched for hours for guides and the right kernel that I need
the tablet got an old recovery of CW I want to switch to Twrp and for that I thought doing that via fastboot via Android SDK and then try to install an original Kernel I tried looking for some guides on how to do it and also tried installing some kernels via Odin without much success.
I don't want to throw away this tablet just because the touch isn't working I almost certain that it does not work because of software issue(kernel), the device itself is in mint condition my friend was "smart" enough to hack it after a month or so...and didn't bother to deal with it.
Again thank you for your time.

If you swapped motherboards then I dont think it would be the kernel. I think this is a cable issue. The cables that connet the touch digitizer (different from the LCD cable) and wacom matrix might have got damaged in the motherboard transfer. Make sure they are properly connected, seated straight and deep enough in the connector.

[Q] Help!! Flashing with a broken USB port

Hi everybody!
My 15-year old daughter have a LT15a since April this year and eventually she managed somehow to break the USB port about 2 months ago, I don't know how. It was bought in the US like in February by a friend of mine, and besides that I unlocked the bootloader, so warranty claim is not an option.
I was happily using JellySandwich v4.3 and I tried to update to V5. It didn't work but I remember reading that it was based on .587 and I was on .431, so I found a .587 LT15a firmware and began flashing in Flashtool. After it finished, I removed the USB cable and it was the last time the port worked. I knew it was damaged from before, because it only worked with only one of the several microUSB cables that I have (I also own a BB, an X10 and a Milestone) and had to put it in a special position on my PC, It didn't work anywhere else, so I removed the cable very carefully but I failed. I transferred the files I needed via WiFi, trying to use the USB port the least possible. I visited several Cell technicians here in Venezuela, but this phone is almost unknown in here, let alone finding parts for it. Googling, I found the USB port in eBay (several Chinese sites have it and one in UK) but it will take forever to reach here.
After this LOOOONG story, here comes the question: Is there anyway to root it and install CWM without using the USB port? I looked everywhere but didn't find a solution. I even tried the Flashtool ADB restore option, but didn't work
This phone is almost useless without A2SD or Link2SD
Thanks in advance for your answers

Make sure you are using a heavy duty usb cable I recommend a blackberry cable. The stock cable SUCKS! And 99% of flashing issues occur because of bad cables.

I am able to flash my phone with stock OS with either one of my heavy duty cables but i still get failure running the toolbox rooting software. What else could be causing this besides the cable as they flash the stock os fine on both non samsung cables i used. I donated and used this program to avoid these kind of problems thinking this toolbox has been tested and works. There has to be something causing a fail to the unroot software but flashes fine on the stock OS software.
How about do not use the short cut tool kit which you really do not know what it's doing and do it the right old fashioned way which takes less than 5 minutes.

[Q] Update to Jellybean using Kies fails

Hi,
So I have a brand new SII that T-Mobile sent me when my old one's power button broke. The phone was running unrooted, stock Android 4.0.4
I decided to upgrade to Jellybean as discussed here, and by following the directions on T-Mobile's website. Before I started, I double checked that I had Android version 4.0.4, and that my baseband version was T989UVLI1.
Downloaded Kies, updated Kies to the latest version, turned on USB debugging, plugged in phone, started upgrade.
Got a message saying upgrade had failed, and to try Kies firmware emergency recovery. I've tried running emergency recovery a few times with no luck.
Any suggestions on what to do from here?
Yea just root it and then install the rooted version of the new update.
So apparently not all USB ports are created equal. I switched ports on my Macbook Pro and firmware recovery worked like a charm...must be a driver issue with Kies.

I figured rooting wasn't the best idea since the firmware was already screwed up...as long as it got screwed up from Kies + T-Mobile's instructions I could get a new phone, but if I tried rooting and the phone was already so screwed up that it didn't work, then they might have raised a stink about the warranty.
GilEste, which macbook do you have? I just upgraded to the latest one and can't get my phone to communicate to either of my USB ports.

I have a mid 2012 macbook pro with retina display. For me, Kies detected the phone from both ports, but kept having errors with the left port. The right port worked for emergency firmware recovery.
The exact same thing happened to me. The update failed and emergency recovery failed.
I tried a different PC and it could not recognize the phone (on that one for some reason kies was locked at 25% cpu of 4 cores and running really slow).
I went back to the original PC and tried different ports, even a USB 3.0 add-on card without success.
I will try exchanging the phone today, but I still want to take the replacement to JB and I have another 2 phones that need the update.
Thanks
I got the replacement phone and almost immediately tried the update on yet another PC. This time the update was successful and I am seeing how things go. Now I have 2 more phones to update.
I don't know why it worked this time, but on the other PCs it would sometimes fail to detect the phone right away and might require unplugging and plugging back in.
On the PC that worked it did not have any issues. Maybe if there are any issue prior to the update, that is a sign that you should try a different PC.

[q] rogers samsung galalxy s3 i747 bricked/hardbricked after custom rom

Good afternoon all this is a bright Sunday in Halifax Nova Scotia. I would like to first apologize if this is a redundant thread so if anyone sees that my issue has been resolved elsewhere (and yes I have been at this for DAYS) please close this thread and point me to the right direction.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 from Rogers model i747M
Everything was working find until I happened to it lol :silly:
I installed ParanoidKANGdroid succesfully, after playing around with it I got a little cocky and tried to install other roms...
After reading up on the best roms for my device I stumbled upon Pardus HD (not realizing is was for the i9300 because I was all excited and didn't read.... just being honest)
So what I did was followed some guide (can't remember which one but if its imporant ill try and find it) to intall clockwork mod via odin. Successful
After this I booted up my phone and moved the Pardus rom to my internal sd as directed and loaded into clockwork recovery...
Now the directions mentioned to WIPE DATA AND CACHE so this probably wiped the working rom off my phone.
I then went to install off sd card, found the rom, and installed it, the install errored out and aborted. At this point I was still in recovery and rebooted :crying:.
Now my phone will not turn on, there is literally no life going to it. When I plug it into my pc I do hear a sound but its the sound of a device driver error the driver its looking for is QHSUSB_DLOAD.
What I've tried...
Download mode again (of course it won't work)
Finding that driver (no luck)
connecting some wires to the battery (poor man jtag; unsuccessful)
What I want to try but haven't yet as I don't want to mess it up further....
jtag (since I don't have it)
sd card trick to install bootloader (scared to mess it up) this seems the most promising but cant find the guide to me particular model
sd card trick using another working phone same model (don't want to mess up someone elses phone)
I would like to try every option other than sending it off before that ends up being my last resort.
Any help would be great appreciated. I thank you in advance.
Did you make the jig and try it yet? Cause that might be the last resort before sending it off...good luck bud!

So this may not seem as simple as it looks. my question is, is my phone hardbricked or softbricked? (just to be clear there is NO life, no led, no download mode, no charging, just QHSUSB_DLOAD when connecting to pc for which i dont have drivers) will this work in either situation?
Thank you so much for the help so far, i assure that i will most my journey and success with every step once i have this figured out. thanx again
I'm pretty sure it is that simple...jig worked great on my captivate and 1st Gen note both hardbricked....making and using the jig can't hurt you at all...try it and see.

my mistake was i chopped a blackberry data cable. found an original samsung one, chopped it, rigged it up, it works on a good s3 (friends) boots it right into download mode so the jig is working now. i will post on how i made it and what youtube video i followed later. however the jig isnt working on my s3. but i found a [email protected] pdf doc from samsung on how to use another s3 to flash bootloader. just need to find i747 boot recovery image and hopefully i can use his s3 to resurrect mine... any ideas on that method?
This issue has been solved!!! YAY
Okay ladies and gentlemen so my issue has been solved!
Here's how I fixed my issue!
I disassembled the phone I connected a Jig that I learned how to make through mobile tech videos, I then connected an external power supply by attaching two prongs to the positive and negative battery terminal at 3.7 mah, Then I shorted with a pair of tweezers the R 313 chip on the back of the motherboard of the phone. After a few tries download mode came up I disconnected the jig reconnected it and somehow the download counter reset.
Up and running on stock Rogers I 747M 4.1.1 Rom
If you buy your jig on Amazon for about $25 usually those ones actually come with a power supply port On the back of them so you don't have to actually hookup an external one. I'm not sure exactly what the purpose of the R313 chip is I found a leaked Samsung Tech service manual online to do this. That manual also asked for another S3 in working order to be part of the equation to force load a boot loader and then reflash to T flash However jumping the gun in this matter it actually worked if I'm lucky I'm happy if this is how it was supposed to work I hope I really helped someone. Thank you all for your help so far!
where on the board do you find th R313 chip. how did you know to rcognize it. Is the rogers mother board the same as the atnt i747

thanks for information you upload about your experience.
would you please let me know where is R313 is located on i747M main board,as I have the exactly same problem.
any help would be appreciated.
QHSUSB-DLOAD Stands for Qualcomm High Speed USB Download Mode.
This means your motherboard can't find working drivers to run, so it will try to boot from somewhere else.
(Which is the SDcard)
To put the sdcard with bootloader info is safe. Its like putting a CD into your computer, it won't make any changes unless its asked to change the harddrive.
Here is a T-Mobile thread that did it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439367
Here is the i747m image (only works if you didn't update to 4.3 from an OTA from phone company)

do you still know how to flash clockwork mod on the phone I have the I747 But the AT&T model from what I have heard the GS3's use the same process just different boot loaders
Also I did kind of the same thing with my phone but instead of flashing a rom I tryed to unlock a boot loader that was already unlocked and was for a different model lol :silly: .
I already know how to fix it I just need the Debrick img for the SDcard trick where you put the boot loader on the card it self
If you have seen the I747 At&t vision debrick img can you tell me?
I have the sdcard trick here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068 if you still need it it even has the debrick img for the I747M
Thanks

If you still alive can you refer to the r313.
thanks in advance.
They said it was from a leaked guide for the i9300, so there's a very good chance the Qualcomm devices fo not have it. They are very different devices and use entirely different SoC's, do it would make sense that the rest of the hardware would also be different.
Not saying its not worth looking into, just that its a good possibility since no one else seems able to find it.

MediaTek S4 Clone: Soft Bricked With Working Buttons

Need desperate help with a MediaTek clone of S4
Hi everyone,
I will try and keep it short but last night I was badly scammed by a wonderful specimen of the human race, who wanted to sell his old Samsung S4. Turns out:
1. Its a mediatek clone
2. It has more issues than anticipated but all buttons work.
3. Seem to be soft bricked
Now I am facing nothing but patience to try and fix it. What works:
1. All buttons seem functional.
2. The phone boots into normal mode where I have only empty screen with a Phone app. The Phone app opens I can enter digits but cannot dial.
3. I can reboot into Factory mode - I performed all the tests of the device and all were a PASS. I heard the sounds, checked the cam, everything seems to be perfectly working. Touch scree, camera, sound etc. Even noticed it had FM.
I tried booting in Download Mode - no success. I get the dead Android image and it just hangs there. I can easy reboot though.
My PC recognizes the device and opens a media (empty) device folder.
I tried thus far to use SP Flash but....I dont know how to. Nothing is happening.
Of course I spent 6 hours waiting on different stock ROMs for S4 before realizing its a MediaTek device.
And now, here I am desperately asking if anyone could help me, if there is a chance to remedy that situation of mine. I dont need the phone to do anything special. The closer it is to a Samsung Android ROM - awesome. If its other, I dont mind at all. So long as it works and has access to Google Play Store.
Thank you geniuses and wonderful people for any hint you might have.
Hi
I had a similar issue couple of yrs ago with an S3 clone.
First thing u need to knw is the mtk version, memory details (RAM & ROM) and screen resolution to find a suitable OS version.
If ur lucky, ull get the stock ROM from the manufacturer on Google or else ull hafta search on xda, needrom, or the Chinese forums. Most of such devices don't have a lot of development so ull hafta port ROMs so a custom recovery will b helpful
Hope these points help
Sent from my YU5510 using Tapatalk
Ok.
So I need:
Device RAM
Device ROM
Mtk Version
I think I can extract these from the Factory Mode. Will check.
Then I need to get the stock ROM (hopefully) or search for a custom ROM. (Manufacturer I suppose we talk about MediaTek and not Samsung?)
Custom Recovery - yeah, usually this is the first thing I install but how do I do this on a cloned mtk? I suppose ODIN wont work. Can you lastly point me to a link or name of software to use instead of ODIN? (or will it work with ODIN?)
