It is solved! Some 3rd-party usb chargers have same issue.
Samsung standard charger works very well.
I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition (Hongkong, TGY).
Yesterday I updated my device to 4.4.2 (P605ZSUCNE3_P605OZSCNE3_TGY) with Odin.
Upgrading was OK, everything works fine except a battery charging problem.
When device connects to a usb charger, the battery stops charging after 1-2 minutes although not 100%.
I tried something but nothing helps.
- Changing charger/cable to another
- Factory reset (Recovery mode)
- Flashing P605XXUCNE2_P605OXACNE2_NEE (Nordic) Firmware
- Power off mode charging -> It works. This is the only way to make device 100% that I found.

I've got the same issue following the 4.4.2 update, all my third party charges that worked fine before the update no longer work. Battery management software show the device getting the same mA of current to the battery but the device is not charging (it says that it is!).
Original charger does work but is not a valid solution for me, why are the non-oem chargers not working all of a sudden and how do I get them to work again?

I'm having the same problem, trying to fix with some charger mods (shorting data pins of USB) or fast charge kernel. The kernel hack did not work yet, but shorting the d+ and d+ pins of usb cable on device end works. (although I could achive max 1.5mah)
According to this
http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...t-on-the-note-3-but-there-is-a-root-solution/
Samsung denies any intentional blocking and a connection between KitKat and third party accessories.
I tried my third party chargers and they too didn't work. Charging stopped when the screen turned off. However, my Motorola and HTC chargers do work. Maybe the third party tings have inconsisten voltage output or something like that.
I had the new Tab s 10.5 and some of my usb chargers would not work. I found a deal way to good to pass up so I returned the Tab s and THOUGHT I was getting a Note 10.1 2014 wifi. Yet lol I didnt I got a 605 which is AWESOME ..I just always wanted the SnapDragon chip. It was a tad over $400 32gb NEW.
Anyway so I turn it on set it up and it was downloading 4.4 already I wanted to stay with 4.3 after reading around here. Yet so far it works flawless. All my usb chargers work. I can be doing ANYTHING and it keeps charging. Like I said the Tab s I could ONLY use Samsungs.
In my case Android 4.4 for P605 is way better than 4.3. Great battery live, great performance, no or very small lags. But I had initial release of 4.3 ROM which was never updated.
I have a third party charger and it goes well. It is Chinese no marks.
If it is just shorting the data pins, then it will charge. But you will be limited to 1500mah.
I think it needs an Apple compatible charger. Only the Apple standard supports charging over Usb 2 at 2A, for the Ipad.
The Anker 5 port 8A charger is fantastic.

No, I did that mistake and bought a dual port 4a charger. Samsung somehow detects Apple charger and stops charging when screen turns off. I had to make an adapter for shorting data pins, like this, I can at least charge with 1.5a
while i was on vacation my p605 starts having the same problem. It is just loading while the screen is on. After getting black/off it takes a few more seconds till charging stops. This problem is accompanied by the symptom that the tablet won't be recognized by the pc anymore. It is just loading ('til the screen gets black). i have no idea what to do. i am not sure, if the different voltage on vacation could be a reason. based on the fact that i can't get it back to stock, i guess i can not get it repaired by warranty (or is there any way to get it stock? unfortunately mobile odin is not supported). i would be glad about some good hints and thank you in advance
Your cable or charger might have a problem or you may be using a different charger than original one.
Hi everyone,
I've found a bit different issue - my P605 (LTE) does not want to be charged when plugged into USB port (so, no charger is being used).
I tried both using laptop and stationary PC
//ok, nevermind. I've just found somewhere else, that it has been always like that (not noticed that before)
Exact same problem here - charging stops as soon as the screen lock kicks in, even with the original Samsung charger. Brought the tablet back to the tmobile store and had them connect to another Samsung charger - still happens.
Has anyone found a fix for this short of shorting the harger pins?
I don't follow my own advice, and never had this problem. But charge with the original cable where the two GND pins are connected. In most cables one of them is open.
My old Garmin Street Pilot with mini usb used the second GND pin to determine whether to remain operational and charge, or go into pc connectivity mode and do nothing else.
I have the same problem . After upgrading to Kit kat just a few days ago it would stop charging moments after the screen turns off. No matter what cable or charger
This happens to me only when I'm not using original 5.3v charger and original cable. Check your cable and charger. (although I think it works with 5v Samsung charger of my note 3 as well)
My last charger had 4.9v with no load, and certainly lower with a 2A load. No Problems. But if a charger is badly stabilized, it may drop too much, and the Note is very demanding, with twice the current of a typical phone.
I had a DIY adapter to charge my old Nokia stuff via USB. The Nokia chargers have a 5v spec, but one provided 6v, another 7v. And USB voltage seemed too low, there was sort of sporadic charge, with the connection dropping after a short time. But all connections were fine, must have been a voltage thang.
So i still have to keep a Nokia charger ready, only to charge my Nokia BT headset.
Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Charging Fail
Has anyone discovered a fix for this:
When I plug in my tablet...Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 Edition...Using any plug (I have tried factory charger, and multiple alternatives including Ipad Charging adapters) when the screen is on the charging occurs, but When the screen closes about 2 seconds later the screen turns back on the way it does when charge is complete, only its still at same battery level as before! I have tried closing all apps and still the same, Used Task Manager to close all apps and clear the RAM and still nothing, Gone into app manager and closed running processes and still the same results! I am operating KitKat (OS since purchase) and the only actual way to charge it is to leave a plug in all day with the screen On, or shut off the Tablet!
Is there a fix for this or what?
Its bad enough that I cant find a good bluetooth keyboard that is compatible with this tablet! Im on the verge of trading it in and going Apple! Someone please help...Keep me from turning to Apple!
Is there a fix for this even if it requires manually adjusting chargers or the tablet itself (the internal components)?
thank you all for your help!

Since most third party chargers don't work anymore with the KitKat update, did anyone try an external battery?
All chargers works, just depends on cable and not chargers or kitkat. You get faster(slwoer charging depends on charger and quality of the cable.
For u question, I used Trent 11000 mah external battery pack, 5V 1Amp and with 3rd part usb cable, that are only for charging, without "data pins". It charging at 500 mah when screen is on, screen off at 930-980 mah and working as normal.
I dont know where u get that kitkat have anything to do with 3rd part chargers doesnt works.

Well my third party chargers stop charging when the screen turns off. Even if I use the USB cable that came with the Note. However, old chargers of HTC or Motorola phones do work with any USB cable. And I have read this from several other users as well.
I'm on stock 4.4.2 with stock recovery. What recovery/kernel/ROM do you use?
I only use third party chargers and cables and have never had a problem.

The problem is Samsungs OEMs usb cable. I found it kinda weird, probably Samsungs have some kinda "handshake" with data pins and I got few of them from old Note 1/2/2014 and somehow it doesnt charge mine old Note 2 anylonger.
I got 4 of Samsunsg OEMs USB cables that comes along with Note 1/2/2014/EED100 (Desktop chagerstand) and I dont know anylonger which one is for each device. If I use wrong Samsungs usb cable, it charge mine Note 2 very slow, battery also drops while charging and I got to pick right usb cable for it to charge normal.
Now I just use this usb cable to charge mine Note 2014, too lazy to swap cable until find correct one and it works fine with any charger.

I tried using the Note charger with different USB cables and it works. Using third party chargers with Note cable does not work, but using HTC/Motorola chargers with any cable does. So I think the problem is with the charger, not the cable. Are you sure you used the Note charger with diferent cables and it didn't work?
Using a 1.0A charger charges the device obviuosly slower but the third party chargers (also 1.0A) stop when the screen is off or the device is powered down.

Yes
I use a limeade 16000mah battery and have never had a problem with it not charging.
Alright, I'm now officially out of ideas why this only affects some devices. Would you mind telling me what model you have?
Mine is a 605 LTE

Might be it's a bug in the 605 ROM/kernel. Or maybe related to the snapdragon 800 chip. Maybe Samsung screwed up some drivers, intentionally or not.
If anyone is having charge issues, change your cables. There's nothing special about a "Samsung" cable, but there's a lot of cheap cables out there that have enough voltage drop on them that they won't allow adequate charging. Also, make sure your charger is doing "AC" charging, not "USB" charging- the Note won't draw more than 500mA from USB charging and you may either experience slow charging or none at all if you're using it.
I'm running a P607T (US T-Mobile) model with the German P605 ROM (which should rule out "locale" differences), and my Note charges from any third-party charger I have and/or my Gorilla Gadgets charger battery just fine, whether screen is on or off.
Like I said before, my third party charger stops charging when the screen turns off, even if I use the cable that came with the Note. In settings under battery it says "charging - AC" but still.
It may very well be that these chargers are too "cheap".
The Samsung cable misses one of the two ground connectors. This method was used for devices with mini (!) usb to put them either in power or data transfer mode, depending on the cable used.
However, the Note don't care, I charge it with a 5pin-cable.
The charger should be fully Android - and Apple compatible, as the Note most likely checks for Ipad-compatible signals on the data lines for 2A support.
The USB Port of the P600 is really weird.....I`m searching a long time for a solution to use USB and charging at the same time, and I`m testing a lot of dockingg Stations for this.....thats really strange.....the Multimedia Dock, made for the Note 2, works with the Note 3, without Problems, alll Ports are working....but P600 doesnt accept it as any docking stations, it do absolutely NOTHING, if you put it in.....with the new desktop dock (without usb) both devices will accept it as an "Docking Station"...other Adapters, like Hama, with SD Card Reader, USB and micro USB, will accept as an USB connector, all works, but not charging......but now, the LAN to USB Adapter from Samsung for the PRO Tab Series, wich have 2 x USB, LAN and Charging Inputs, works fine, except the LAN Port......think, there no drivers there at P600.....The USB Port is not same pinned as the Note 3, and also not same as the Note 10.1 and other older Tabs.......maybe it`s same pinned as the PRO Series.....but not sure......

So I Purchased a New USB Cable Yesterday for My Zenfone 2 Ze551ml phone and it was working pretty good.
1- Its a Flat Cable
2- With 6 Months Warranty
3- Was working fine with no charging issues or anything and was Fast Charging my Phone Properly
Then it suddenly stopped Working
And now my Phone is Not Charging or Fast Charging with any cable even the New Original Samsung Cable I just removed from my s6 Edge Box
And also it Took me a Good 10 minutes to finally get it to charge normally without Fast Charging on the Samsung Cable so I have just kept it at that for now and letting it charge up
What my Question is What should I do now?
Have the charging port Checked and Replaced if it doesn't charge today or have the Company I bought the Cable from reimburse me or what?
I'm in India so that u have a basic idea of which will be Easier
Also I need my Zenfone as this is my Daily Driver, I just got the S6 Edge and it doesn't have dual sim functionality so I Haven't Completely Shifted my usage to that solely.
Please Help
and Thank u for taking the time .
Hi! I have a problem with QI receiver charging. I bought qi receiver and wireless charger from baseus and both are working on every phone I tested but not with A50. One time I asked Samsung support why does that happen and they said that I need to use the original charger. So I know that this is a firmware issue. I think this is caused by an update because my sister that have A40 without updates and it's working. But of course i always want updates. Is there any fix or mod or app to fix it?
I have the S20+ SM-G986B/DS and unforunately it doesnt do any wireless charging. Not on my charging pads and not in Volkswagen or Audi Official Charging areas. Tried to turn on and off the fast charge capability but it does nothing at all.
Looked for further help in the Developer Settings but nothing htere that could help. Should be on the newst offical version out there in Germany.
Is there a solutions to this problem?
It was just handed over to someone else to use it which is odd as it was just factory. I believe i used it last year at some point and it worked on the wirless charging pad "Fatboy" i have from the good old Nokia days. It is not in a case or anything
So am i the only one with this problem and a broken device or is it some software issues with Samsung
Okay, thank you. Very helpful
The only thing i think you can try is to use original samsung wireless charger, any will do. If it does not start charging, then i'm afraid its a problem with your device. The reason i'm suggesting this is that samsung included recognition of wireless charger at some point, and if its not made by samsung it wont start charging. That doesnt mean that it wont work with any other, but may be the reason that your device is not charging on nokia charger.
I have few cheap chinese QI chargers (home/work/cars) and they work perfectly fine with S20+.
They work fine for IPhone, S8 and S20 too.
