I have tried several rom, 4.4.4 Note4 ported and the 5.1.x roms. I get 1 out of 2 problems when I install either version.
1. If I install 4.4.4 Note4 ported roms, mobile data works fine but I get intermittent SD card errors.
2. If I install 5.1.x roms, I do not get mobile data but do not get SD card errors.
I really want to use 5.1.x but I cannot find a fix for the mobile data.
I backed up EFS and Modem in TWRP, installed 5.1.x, then restored EFS/Modem but nothing works.
Of course, I checked the APN and set up automatically, I selected and rebooted. Still mobile doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I was on the paranoid 4.4.4 rom on my I9300, everything worked fine.
I did the last update with paranoid 5.1.1 but it didn't worked well, i have multiple error and Google service won't work anymore.
The thing is, i can't do anything at all, like restore my last backup because i lost the root access with the update.
I can't load in recovery mode, i tried the HOME+VOLUME DOWN (or up) + POWER, it won't work.
I can't fine the debug mode on this version, so i really don't know how i can at least restore my last backup to go back to the 4.4.4 version.
Any help is appreciated, thaks for your time.
Root doesn't ship with any 5.x build of paranoid android. To reset you need to boot into recovery and restore your backup or flash a different ROM.
You don't need root access for that.
It sounds like you installed an incompatible gapps....
Thanks for your reply,
I managed to boot in recovery, using a method i found on the web, i pull the battery then hold the combination keys when i put it back, and it load in recovery just fine.
I think i couldn't install the proper gapps because i was in clockwork recovery, i installed the latest TWRP, but i still can't manage to install the latest paranoid rom prpoperly.
here's what i did so far:
- wipe all/ factory reset , install Paranoid5.1.1 + Gapps 5.1 mini => paranoid load but Black screen once it's loaded with the message "Android.phone interrupted" (gross traduction) popping every 2 sec, it disapear if i put the phone on airplane mode => make me think the Google service can't connect.
- Restore my last 4.4.4 backup then => wipe cache/dalvik=>install Paranoid 5.1.1 + gapps => same as the previous problem, but this time i have my old app and i can call and receive sms.
My guess so far is a problem with the Google service who can't synchronize, the Gapps i try to use are the pa_gapps-modular-pico-5.1-20150315-signed.zip
Any guess ?
Yeah. The problem is you are using old gapps. Use banks gapps
I had trouble with a clean install of PA 5.1 + Gapps on my S3 (i9300) and similar issues to yours, not sure why but I found that if I used th full fat "Stock" 5.1 Gapps the phone was fine and has been for a day or 2 now, the pico/mini/full seemed to be problematic (at least for me). Also moved to Philz Recovery using the "Rashr" app as my old CWM kept throwing an error of status 6 on any Gapps I downloaded... Must admit though that once stable PA Lollipop runs well on the S3 and battery seems better over the past couple of days too...
Coming from stock rooted / unlocked Touchwiz KitKat
Cm12.1 installed just fine but when I rebooted and went to flash gapps I get a non-stop error saying "there's an internal problem with your device, and it may be unstable until you factory data reset."
So I factory reset the device and even installed CM 12.1 without gapps and it still gives me this error.
Factory reset again, try my recovery and I get an error mentoning UID's being messed up (I did this and it did not help http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...on-finally-t3151579/post61729442#post61729442 ) . So I factory reset again and flashed CM 12.1 without gapps and everything is fine.
Boot into recovery and flash gapps and boom the error again. Seems like the only way to get rid of the error (After many trials and errors) is to Restore recovery -> factory reset -> flash rom. The only problem is when I also flash gapps the error comes back.
Now here is the part where I can use YOUR help, in TWRP I keep saying red text that says
"E:error opening '/data/data/com/google.android.gms/files/images/games/de7f5650'
E:error: Not a directory"
on everything I do, from formating the system to flashing a rom. I think this is where my problem lies.
Other notes: No sd card,
when CM is working, I am getting no reception (Looks like a full but has ! next to it)
When CM is working, the messaging app does not even open and just instantly closes
OK I'll break into parts I see 1: gapps 2 signal 3:msg app.
1: GAPPS
cm 12.1 is android 5.1.* so you need to verify you have correct gapps. Use gapps for 5.1 hopefully that will fix problem. Factory reset, flash cm 12.1, flash gapps 5.1, wipe dev/cache, and reboot. Should be working fine after.
2: Signal is due to rom bugs but usually due to bad/wrong apn settings or bad efs/modem pretty much all the time from my experience. So I'll break that down from easiest to the latter and hopefully we'll fix it.
a: check you apn settings and see the attachments. I'm on lte tmo so if you aren't the Google apn setting for your carrier.
b: flash back up of moden/efs
3: msg app might be fixed since gapps was installed but if not only thing I can think of is clear data/cache for msg app.
Hope I could help

lineageos 16.0 is what I've been running on it, i needed a newer os cuz stock 5.0 was the last official version, and pokemon go was dropping support for the note 3 with stock roms, now switching to LineageOS 17.1 on my note 3 i'll update whether gapps works so you know
LineageOS Downloads
download.lineageos.org
LineageOS 17.1 is android 10
btw I have sd cards in all my spare phones 8gb normally, so I am recommending a small sd card 4gb-16gb because it makes it easier to flash roms with twrp
google play works, gmail works, yt works, sound works, flashlight works, and camera works on LineageOS 17.1
note 3 sm-n900t
i used the nano gapps from opengapps
the newest file version of lineageos 17.1 on their site

Hi
XDA newbie, still learning where everything is! I posted this question in the general help thread but got no replies, then I found this section so please pardon the repost
I have a rooted Galaxy Note 2 N7105 (t0lte I think) running Samsung Stock software 4.4.2. I have previously installed various version of CyanogenMod and Ditto Note, and somewhere along the line have lost my GPS functionality! Running CWM recover, not sure what version off the top of my head. The exact issue is that when I turn GPS on, it shows the "searching" symbol endlessly and will not lock to any satellites.
I have tried reflashing the modem and every GPS fix app that I've seen suggested on forums, and it still will not lock my location by GPS. Power saving (wi-fi and mobile network) location still works.
From my research, I believe the NV Rebuild method (listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2211690) is what I need to do in order to fix the problem. However when I access the hidden dialer menu and select NV Rebuild it tells me "Not Support in Custom Binary!" Other people have had this issue and posted asking for help in the thread, but nobody replied or helped them.
As I mentioned, I am running stock Samsung software, not a custom ROM. The phone is rooted, and I do have a few Xposed modules installed. I also used Triangle Away and my bootloader shows the device status as Samsung Official. It also showed Official in settings when I tried to run the NV Rebuild. As far as the information went, this should be all I needed to make NV Rebuild work, but it still gave the custom binary error.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get around this? Do I need to completely unroot my phone and reflash a vanilla copy of Samsung 4.4.2 before it will work, or is there a workaround to make the service menu read my phone as official and run the NV Rebuild?
Any thoughts or ideas would be HUGELY appreciated as this issue has been driving me mental! (Please let me know if you need further information and I will try to provide it ASAP)
Thanks in advance!

Try lineageOS 14.1. My GPS was dead after going back to kitkat after lineage. NV rebuild also not support in custom binary. Found the solution here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...nt-n7105/rom-lineageos-n7105-t3538310/page136
From lineage I did only a format(not wipe or factory reset, I dont know what is the difference) in TWRP 3.2.3 and flashed zip of the omnirom kitkat, and GPS was working, then format and flashed official FTM ROM. Maybe not need to go via omnirom, for me it was clear that kitkat is not getting the fix and it was easier to flash a zip kitkat than an image from Odin.

Your solution gains my interest. I am using GT-N7105 too. The road of Roms I have been through is Lineage 14.1 -> Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 -> Stock 4.4.2
When I went back to the Stock rom, GPS totally unable to detect any satellite using any GPS tools app. IMEI blank but Baseband is still there, the weird thing is the phone network signal works without issue.
Have been trying many ways to fix GPS including reflash stock rom but still failed. I went back to resurrection remix 5.8.5 and GPS works without issue but IMEI is still blank.
Any recommended omni rom as you mentioned? and what is official FTM rom? A stock rom?
I had no problem with mobile data on official ROM but from the day I installed CM 13, I can not using mobile data anymore.
First of all, I installed CM 13 beta, then CM 13 stable and some nightly builds. Nothing changed!
I installed AOPS Nougat 7.0 Beta2 few weeks ago on my C2005.
I had "CM13-UNOFFICIAL-20160104-NIGHTLY" and data did not work, I updated it to "stable-20160527-NIGHTLY" (via cmupdater) and nothing changed. After few months, I installed AOPS Nougat 7.0 Beta2 but I can not use the data yet. I installed Nougat Beta2 via TWRP boot manager and wiped everything (all the data, cache, etc.) .
There is few weeks I've installed CM 14.1 on my C2005 and updated it to some nightly builds but the problem still exists after several months and several Android versions.
I installed CM 13 "stable-20160527-NIGHTLY" on my wife's C2005 and the data works a charm! Even I tried to flash mine to that version but problem still exists to my phone even with that version.
The only different between my phone and my wife's C2005 is that I didn't install TWRP on her phone and just installed CM13 with it's own recovery.
I tried instructions described in this link and the problem has not not solved yet.
The last thing is when I enable mobile data (SIM 1 or SIM 2) the cross mark but it does not change to H+ or other marks that shows I'm using data (attached screenshot).
Is hardware problem possible for this issue?
How can I provide CM logs for this problem to find out what's wrong with my phone?
Does someone else have such a problem?
Any idea about debugging and providing some logs?

Also, try flashing your device with official rom 4.3 again and try using internet on it. If it works you are doing something wrong in flashing other os, if not, it's device related.
Thanks for reply. Actually I can not use data on SIM1. It's OK for me and it shouldn't be necessarily on specific SIM.
I'm looking for another way of checking data rather than reflashing to official ROM and install CM again. Something like reading /var/log/something.log in Linux distros. Is anything like that possible on AOSP or CM?
No. You can try however reflashing and clean installing aosp 7 or cm14 again, alongwith with THIS patch for dual sim users. But before you install anything make sure you are on 4.3 firmware, or you are likely going to face the same problem again.
Data works on 2nd SIM.
Thank you all for your help.
Believe it or not, the data on 2nd SIM is usable, but 1st SIM.
It could be Edge or HSPA.
As the known bugs says, data is now work on 2nd SIM, I always tried to enable data on the 1st SIM, but few nights ago I had enough free time to check all the options and finally it worked!
