Also what is the difference between all the country variants? Can I also use the Open/General variants? Or the Polish version? I'm using a Dutch phone.

It a security thing, just enter your credentials. Also does that if you change sim cards when travelling.

Hello LG G4 users! I finally got my phone. I had a quick look at G4 forums to check what users are saying and I see that many of you don't like MM update but I see that some are still using it. Is battery life really worse? Also I saw some writing about network issues. Is it really that bad or it's usable? Can someone write full list of issues, thanks.

Games work better on 5.1 and for that reason i back form MM to LP. Downgrade is little tricky on LG UP and kdz when refub need tot file.

Thank you, but that's probably because developers haven't optimized them for MM yet correct?

Hm i think it's not becouse my old Samsung Galaxy S3 on CM13 (android 6.0.1) work good for my games. MM have lags in for example Tapatalk, in LP I not have that. Strange problem is but LG must repair that.

Well! Its quite strange that I found MM performing better than LL in terms of battery life (atleast for me).
On LL, I hardly get 3hrs SOT while on MM I have already crossed 3.5hrs with 40% battery left (Yeah, I updated today morning).
I cant say for sure that LL was bad at battery since I have used it for just 1 day but for MM I'm quite satisfied with the battery life.
Needs some more time to come to much concrete conclusion.

Firmware update?

"sugaritos" posted today that he received a new firmware update from LG. Has anybody else seen this?
I looked at the LG Opensource Code site to see if any new version is posted. The one that's now showing is this one:
https://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensourceList?types=NAME&search=LGV500
I'm not sure, because I didn't download it before, but I think this is the same version that first appeared a few weeks ago.
So, I'd be interested in knowing what changed in the update. Also, we need to make sure that nothing in the update will interfere with the boot loader exploit or the root methods.
I now stands <sw_version> V50010A_00 </ sw_version>

Lg in my country said that the update is not for the blue line issue, but only for the player.. i dont know too much. Also Lg said that the following days all devices will get this update. in my country the greek firmware is V50010A my g pad has V50010C and the update is V50010E is the Korean firmware. The update came yesterday.

No i never had V50010A. i received the tablet with the V50010C firmware as stock. Later i understood that it was for the Korean market, as some lg applications are not in english..
But i think V50010A and V50010C are the same.. as also V50010B. if you see here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=39 the size of firmwares are different and i think that has to do with the bloatware that they have.
I have G Pad from Italy, stock is V50010A build JDQ39B, no update from App "update center".

Same situation here in Slovakia
Is there anyway of manually applying the update?
Are the root methods working after the upgrade?
Thanks

my gpad is bought in greece, has stock V50010A and no updates available
It seems that the new firmware update makes the pad a bit faster than the previous version. But nothing has changed. The blue line is there too.
This Update is only for the Korean firmware(V50010c-->V50010e) and it will come the next days to all G pads.
Here some screenshots from the new updated version. V50010e.
The only difference is that the korean g pad has Kweather widget and not accuweather. (For me here in greece this is not working properly as the location is not accurate. The accuweather is working better) Also there is weather forecast options only for Korea and this can not be changed. All these differences were from the previous version (v50010c)
Update: there is problem with the screenshots. see here:

Yes. dalingrins root method in android developers section is working with the new firmware version. The only problem is that ota updating causes bootloop if the previous version is rooted.
As of today the OTA udate is also available in the Netherlands.
It basically upgraded the software from version V50010a to V50010b.
No big changes.

Mine updated yesterday from 10a to 10b. I can confirm this in my device:
- bottom backlight bleeds dissapear after update
- blue line is still there
- bad sound with low volume is still there
I don't detect speed improvement or battery drain. Updated via OTA on a root device with original recovery. Device is still rooted after update.

I'm from Spain and my tablet is in Spanish so I don't know what it says exactly in English. I went to Settings > About this tablet > Software update > Check new Software and just aswer yes to everything.
Process downloads the update, reboots the tablet and starts a two steps update. Reboots again and starts to install Android updates as usual.
I use Linux so I didn't link the tablet to any LG software. I just used Windows once to root the device.

Downgrade H815 (Taiwan Version) from MM TO LP?

Well, I thought buying this phone would end my terrible relationship with ATT's Note 4 for good... Hell it's even an H815 for christ sakes....
But it seems like it can't be rooted on MM due its bootloader being locked :/
Yes, I did try using the official unlock tool but, as some of you know it doesn't work for the Taiwan version (Just my luck).
However, I looked around and saw that the Lollipop version can have root/twrp installed WITHOUT unlocking the bootloader.
In conclusion, my question is............. will I be able to downgrade from MM to Lollipop?

From what I know the H815 model can be unlocked. But I think it's only the International one. There's an unofficial unlock in the works, just look around on the forums, haven't been that interested 'cause I'm rocking an International model

Stock launcher icons

Hey guys, im a sad owner of a J500FN because it doesnt have 6.0 update So im stuck with 5.1.1, but how can i change the launcher icons to the nice round icons, because i really like them? And flash successfuly with odin after that
At the Theme Store, you may choose a theme that has these icons. For instance there is the TouchWiz 6.0 by Kendi or the Note_5 theme with rounded icons. Sad J500FN owner here as well.

What is the highest android version on the Singapore-H815 that can get root?

Im currently on Android 5.1 with root. I'd like to upgrade because i...i just want more emojis :crying:
Also, i need root for wifi tethering regardless of my data plan. The only Gapps i use are quick remote (maybe once a week) and the camera.
We doesn't have 7.x so there aren't any new emojis. Plus LG ones are ugliest I ever seen. Even stock are better(which are ugly as **** either). 6.0 is not worth it as you lose battery life and root as Singapore G4 can't be unlocked(correct me if I'm wrong)

i use emoji switcher from playstore not sure if you need root though.
as far as upgrade. if your variant is the one it cant be bootloader unlocked. then theres no way for root. only way to root a bootloader variant is on LP 5.1
and in my case theres antirollback means if you upgrade you can not go back.. you need to know wich version. this is for tmobile G4 version 10n lollipop and 20i marshmallow are V2 i could chage from either one.. but once i flashed 20o thats V3 antirollback. i CANT go back to 20i cause it is V2 antiroll back.. i can switch if i stay in all V3 thats 20o-20p-20q-and 20R.
so you need to find out if you can go back as i think not sure that some can go back as they have always antirollback 0.. if am not mistaken. but better to read and find out for yourself.

Sim card no longer working

So with my HTC 10 I downgraded from Oreo to nougat which I am hearing causes problems with the SIM card but I wanted to go to nougat to use the fusion ROM and I believe when I had Oreo originally and tried to flash the fusion ROM it was not working with the SIM card either then when I looked at the form for the fusion ROM I noticed it said nougat firmware required which is where I started to downgrade things but my SIM card is not working on Fusion even on nougat firmware and it wasn't working with the Oreo firmware so I'm really confused

Sorry to say... You cannot use anything lower than Oreo based roms after upgrading... No nougat roms will work because of differences between the two systems... You'll have to wait to use other roms once they are published...

I'm guessing a kernel that was designed for nougat will not work either

Well I do thank you for your help. Would you happen to know if any Oreo kernels are released at the moment? I'm not seeing any at least

I updated my phone back to Oreo official and then wiped the system and installed it Fusion OS Oreo and my SIM card is still not working it was working fine yesterday before anything was altered on the phone and after s-off was achieved... Sigh I'm about to give up.....
Kernel source has not been released, without it.. What your trying to do... Will not work until devs have source... You cannot use anything other than stock Oreo or the 1 released custom build.
