Hot new Bluetooth speaker with about 24 hours play time?? - ZenFone 2 Accessories

I just got this bad boy for free http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...17145&creative=399373&creativeASIN=B016XTADG2 and testing the 24 hours continuously play time on this and so far it's keeping up. I have been trying to burn the battery but it's kicking for 3 days now. I can't really do continuously but doing so at work. I thought I might want to share this for those who's looking for a long play time Bluetooth speaker!
For the price and suggested play time it's pretty worth it. I have Bluetooth speaker from Bose soundlink Mini to TDK box and etc and this is pretty worth it. Check it out or if you have any other suggestion I'm willing to try something affordable with long play time.

Hacking the Sony Liveview

Despite the bad reviews I picked up a Liveview yesterday. Was $50 brand new off Craigslist. And surprise surprise, it turned out to be a turd. Well, I don't like to waste money, so I set about modding it. Thought some people here might be interested to see what I did.
So far I've waterproofed the case. Next I'll be building a better strap, one that doesn't make it huge or block the USB port. http://www.jax184.com/projects/liveview/liveview.html has everything I've done so far on it.
Nice i got that thing and it "worked" but still with the having to restart it all the time was very annoying but i ended up sending mine back
So I've been using the Liveview for a couple days, or at least trying to. Even after doing a full reset of the device, reinstalling the software on my phone and removing all the plugins, it has a battery life of about 6-8 hours. In that time I turned the screen on twice, and it briefly lit up to tell me of an incoming call. No texts, no alerts, and I don't have farcebook/twatter/etc turned on. It sat 2 feet from my phone the entire time. If I actually try to use the damn thing to, say, control the media player, the battery goes dead in 2 to 3 hours.
Pathetic...
I've decided I'm going to build it into a custom case for a friend of mine with a much larger battery, since the stock one is completely and utterly useless. So much for my gasket job...
Not sure if the battery is just dying on yours or what but if I never touch the screen, mine lasts for a couple days at least (and that's with alerts!). Sad to hear yours has issues :\
Mine's brand new and running the latest firmware/software with the bare minimum of functionality enabled, so I'm as confused as you.
I have a liveview and i absolutely love it. I dont have any connection issues but i mostly just use it as a watch with out having it connected over bluetooth and the battery lasts for days when i do that. I do have an issue now where i dropped it and the select button on top doesnt work anymore
Can I connect multiple liveviews to my phone?
I just bought 4 of them for $15 a pop !! Sweet
I know I can use it with torque which is cool
what else can I do with them? Can I run album art to it from say player pro? or Pocket Casts?
is there a decent list somewhere of "interesting" things you can do with the little buggers?
Hi, do someone know the dimensions of the battery, because i have one with death batt. and need a replacement.
nice mod! Based on the pictures I can see the battery size in case I need to replace it, by the way using notifications my watch last 2.5 days, using a plugin last only 30minutes or less

+1 I just got one for $15, I wanna find some cool things I can do with it. What have you done to set yours up?
its a pain in the freaking butt. cool potential poor execution.
it constantly gets disconnected when something goes wrong ON THE DROID SIDE. terminating the app and relaunching it solves the problem for X period of time (few hours ??)
the most convenient access is also the worst designed. the watch band. YOU CAN NOT CHARGE IT WHILE IN THE WATCH BAND.
what freaking moron though that was a good idea to force us to remove it (VERY difficult) to charge it.
if the software bugs get worked out I may look into modding the stinking socket so I can charge it while in watch mode (thinking of RIVETING the case to the band) then I won't need the little watch pin thingy that is keeping me from charging it while its in the watch band.
and there is just not that many "cool" apps to use for it yet or the few out their are poorly executed.
how hard can it be to reliably push the freaking album art to the watch ?

2 Generations of Liveviews
Just to be clear, there are 2 versions of this device floating about... The older one goes for around $20 and is not much more than a novelty... The newer model runs around $100 and seems to have fixed the battery life issue... One should look at the Pebble once it is available as a possible alternative...
openliveview

I started creating a usable gui for the openliveview project. Theo openliveview project is an open source reimplementation Of the liveview app.
You van follow the development in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422106&page=26
Note: you have to uninstall the liveview app bevore you van install openliveview

This might help you. It won't solve the issue of select button, but it'll help you read notifications.

Where can you find one for 15 bucks? Even if it did nothing, I'd want it for 15 bucks, just to have as a key for my phone using tasker. I supposed I could get any old bluetooth headset, but I wanted something wearable.

Yeah, $15 is AWESOME!
$18 with Free shipping on ebay buy it now is the best price I can find so far.
I bought four of them and donated 2 to the local hackerspace.
Would be wicked to control more than one at once. I'm trying to find some chick to wear two as earrings.
Perhaps one controlled with Sony app and one Open Liveview App each for one mac address.
Contrary to earlier post, I seem to be able to have both Sony and Openliveview apps installed at once (though haven't tried RUNNING both) yet.
My battery life across the two that I've evaluated and (a third I lost to the ocean) seems significantly better than the average reported above.
But a LOT of variables have changed since the OP. New firmware, new app, new phone, new bt stack, new android versions...
My impression IIRC is that this thing is ROCK SOLID on CyanogenMod7 or CM9 on evo 3d.

LiveView

The LiveView is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S2?
I hesitate to buy, I want to know if anyone has this product I wonder if it is 100% compatible, music, rss, facebook, email.
Sorry for my bad English
Thanks
What is this LiveView ive never heard of it?
edit - a quick search of Google came up with this
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/pro...viewmicrodisplay?cc=gb&lc=en#layerid=liveview
is this what you mean?
yes, it's exactly the link you sent me
100% compatibility is with the Sony phones(not even with them).I had the live view but not with the S2.The thing is i had to sell the thing because it dropped the connection often, like.... almost always.I personally do no recommend it to anyone.

Thanks Berbecverde !!
So I will not buy this product lol!
I have one and it is ok. The connection drops very rarely with me. They are only cheap but they are a bit gimmicky. It isn't actually that useful but it is a bit of fun and good for showing off.
I wouldn't recommend getting one... but I wouldn't recommend not getting one either.
Like I said... just a bit of fun.
thank you for your opinion Nobnut !
This looks like quite a cool device. Does anyone know if you can use it as a remote control for the S2 when plugged into the tv and watching a movie/ listening to music?
Bluetooth watches, anybody?
Sorry to pull up an old(ish) thread but i can get one of these brand new for £20. Is it really that bad? im a sucker for gadgets and i reckon its gotta be worth £20!, im gunna order one now.
Are there any other bluetooth watches that people can recommend?
Anything that works well?
Read some more reviews and seems like SE released a FW update which resolves 90% of the issues.
I thought £20 was cheap but Play.com now has them for £17.99 delivered!!!! Just ordered 2 from there.
I see normal crappy watches for that price.
I'm quite surprised it's fallen to that price.
I would however suggest you look into getting a Sony Ericsson MBW series watch. They cost a tad more, but it's worth it IMO.
I've got the MBW-150 Music Edition and it's a fantastic device. The charge on the watch alone has lasted over a week already. I typically pair it with my GSII around 7AM and unpair them between 9PM and 11PM daily, and it's had next to no effect on battery life for me.

agreed on this.. the MBW-150 was a great device.. i had the classic edition and it lasted a week...
however, the only issue with the device was the OLED display fading off prematurely such that it can become unreadable.. happened to me twice
now, i'm using the metawatch still a developer's device and has bugs etc... but looks promising!

[Q] over heating with in car

Hi guys,
Im now wondering if my hox has devolped a problem.
Ive owned it since release day and its been excellent phone until now.
Last week we done a 6 hour car journey and i had car home ultra running with google music streaming as well as google navigation the whole way, the phone ran smoothly without any problems.
Forward one week and whenever i get in the car (excat same setup) my phone overheats in about 10 mins flat!
im doing nothing different, same apps running while on charge, the battery is reporting 51 degrees - the car is a cool 16-18 degrees.
Ive also found that the phone will over heat if i put it under my pillow at night when listening to audiobooks, ive never seen this on a phone and playing audiobooks shouldnt be taxing on the cpu (using mort player or audible.com player)
I know there is a update due soon that should address the problems but as my phone was working perfectly and now all of a sudden overheats im wondering if that is a sign of a failure in there.
The phone is out of its case when on the car dock as well.
many thanks

[Q] Wearing 360 and your health

Is it harmful to wear a watch (BT connected) all day? Could this trigger some disease?
Can't be much worst than the cell signals and Wi-Fi signals and everything else that flows through us on a daily basis. I'm hoping we get superpowers eventually.

Best reply ever!
I'm holding out for something awesome like invisibility or invincibility. No doubt though, I'd end up with elastic skin or toad like tongue. Or just cancer.
I don't really know how answer this but I have been wearing BT head sets for years in my ear...As far back as the first Jawbone and now the Bose 2. I am an IT Sys Engineer and I average 2500-3000 minutes in calls per month... I am in my mid-40's and see doctor on regular and checkups, etc and nothing has been noticed on me...
There are a lot of talk over years on that topic but i have hours of BT and I am fine.... Not to exclude the Nike Fuel band I did wear back in the day to the first Samsung Gear, Gear 2 and now the Moto
Each is his own but I don't fear there things I am more concerned about not getting the flu and getting my yearly flu shot over issues with getting something from BT...and now days cars, etc have all kind of BT in them and how many hours is one on a car...so not going away anytime soon.
Regards,

Similar here. I am a project manager and I sit on the BT headset for hours. If not that, a pair of Bose AE2W (BT) and no issues to complain of.

MJYUN Wireless Earbud Review - Great for running

I recently got a pair of the MJYUN wireless earbuds, and I've been pretty impressed. I've been using them for the past few days, and so far, I'm quite impressed. The sound is pretty good for such a small headphone, with surprising bass and good treble and a decent sound stage. Where these really have shined, though, is the fit and comfort. These are very light and fit very well. So far, I've worn them at the office and for a few runs, and they have stayed in place with no issues and are very comfortable over longer duration. At my desk, I typically listen to music whenever I'm not in meetings, which this week has been mostly 1 to 2 hour stretches. During my runs, I haven't had any problem with them shifting or needing adjustment. Additionally, the ability to power just the right earbud is awesome for running or biking on the street. I also haven't had any issues with the the earbuds pairing with each other, whether they are powered on at the same time or the left one is powered on after the right one is already playing music. I have noticed a slight delay when watching movies (less than a second), which is a minor annoyance, but not a deal breaker for me.
The battery life so far has been great. I charged these fully when I got them on Saturday using a previously purchased usb c to c cable and charger, and they fully charged in 30 or 40 minutes. So far, I haven't had to recharge the case again. I love that this uses USB C, and the provided cable is nice to have. I've been able to consistently get 2 hours at a stretch before the battery dies. I replace the earbuds in the case when I am not using them, and that's been enough to maintain a charge. The case LED provides some indication of remaining charge (it shows green when it's open if the charge is >50%, and yellow when < 50%), and it's still showing green after about 6 hours of listening time, so I'm happy.
Phone calls work well. Both earbuds have a button, which is used to turn on the buds, pause or play music, and answer or end calls. Once the call is answered, only the right earbud provides audio. The people I talked to had no trouble hearing me, and the music restarted without any problem once I hung up.
Initial paring with my phone (a LG V20) was seamless, and I haven't had any issues with connecting since the initial pairing. Additionally, the range has been great. In my office, I was curious how good the range would be, and managed to get about 75 feet away from my phone before they started to break up (which beat my Garmin Vivoactive 3 by about 20 feet).
Overall, I have been very impressed with these, and would highly recommend these, especially for running or working out.
Here's some pictures of the headphones.
