I've noticed since I updated to MM GPE that I have to manually change the usb function from charging only to mtp transfer... Could this be the issue? Any fix?

Shouldn't affect fastboot.

Some folks have had to flash the Sense firmware before they can run the RUU.
But the normal symptom for that, is the RUU will run until it gets an error related to the fact that the system partition is too small.
What version Windows? Also, if you have USB 3.0 ports, those are known to be problematic with RUU.

Does the command "fastboot devices" return your phone's serial number?
If so, fastboot is working properly.

Fastboot and ADB commands work, Windows 10 recognizes my device, USB 3.0 but never had any issues... How do I flash firmware? I've always just ran the RUU for a clean install when going from GPE to Sense and back

Okay, so I finally got it flashed... Still have no idea what the issue was but now the OTA fails... SuperCid allows BS_US002 to update correct? Sorry, I don't play with this phone very much anymore

SuperCID shouldn't prevent OTA.
Which RUU (file name) did you end up installing correctly? Did you have to flash a firmware separately, or no (and if so, where did it come from?).
On the bootloader screen, what does it say for OS number?

U didnt have to open a new thread. If it says device not detected then u dont have correct drivers installed for bootloader otherwise it would of detected ur phone. Search here for adb & fastboot guide and install the correct fastboot drivers then try again.

Also search in that thread for answers, im sure ur not the only one to have this problem..

I'm unable to unlock the bootloader for the HTC Desire HD.
A friend give me a Desire HD stuck in bootloader. When I try to unlock the bootloader using fastboot and the Unlock_code.bin file everything seems to works fine but when the phone reboots it stills saying locked. Just to chek I use the fastboot oem lock command and returns (bootloader) Device was already locked!
I dont know whats the cause of this or how to solve it.
Anyone has any ideas?
Google is your friend
To unlock it, you have to visit htcdev
---------- Post added at 08:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:54 PM ----------
If you keep locking and unlocking and running commands via adb, you are gonna mess up your device. Go to HTC.com and search unlock bootloader or htcdev. Follow instructions there. Good luck.
Actually I did go to htcdev.com and follow their instructions, thats how I get the Unlock_code.bin file. Running random ad comamos was never an option.
I started to think that this might be a hardware issue but I have no idea how to proove it
Can u boot into bootloader?

I would suggest u look up aahk2 on xda. Follow those directions. That will help unlock, root s off and flash a custom recovery.

Yes I can boot in bootloader, ok I will try with aahk2. I'll let you know if this fix the phone.
Thanks
What is your hboot version? If you have hboot 2.00.27 or lower maybe you have not an unlock option. You have to upgrade your hboot to 2.00.29 and then you should be able to unlock it thought htc_dev.
Check how to upgrade your bootloader here.
When you are in your bootloader give the command fastboot getvar all and copy-paste here what it prints.(except your IMEI and serialno).

If your device isn't coming on display wise, it might be a hardware issue.

Yes. But to run fastboot, u need fastboot drivers. Download min adb and fadtboot program.
---------- Post added at 10:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:41 PM ----------
Once u have that installed..turn off phone and hold vol down with power(make sure phone is plugged in PC) open cmd window via min adb and type fastboot devices. Should see a number...then type fastboot getvar all to get bootloader details.

What you figure out?
HI all,
I have been trying to root my HTC One M9 mobile which is branded under Vodafone. I have been scouring the internet for anything that will help, but to no avail - I have run into a couple of problems:
I don't have the Fastboot option when I go to Settings > Battery on this device
When attempting to load the Bootloader, I get the S-ON error.
I have tried using the HTCDev and when I try to do the initial fastboot i get what is shown in the attachments.
The phone is currently running Android OS 5.02... and I also had a look at this link but couldn't make heads or tails on what was done - http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/help/s-off-change-firmware-vodafone-branded-t3099330
Any ideas/help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Fast boot is actually download mode now, I know confusing.
Go to HTC Dev, then get yourself a custom recovery and then a ROM.
Done, there are quite a few guides out there mate

I have a HTC One M8 converted to GPE. I want to revert back to Stock so I downloaded the RUU from HTC's website, but the RUU.exe closes after I accept the License Agreement. I've installed all redistributeables and Adobe Air but the program continues to close itself. Any help?
I had the same, similar, issue when running an ruu with windows 7.
Basically the HTC drivers won't install properly.
If you put your phone into fastboot then connect to pc, if the phone doesn't show "fastboot usb" then the drivers aren't installed properly.
My issue was, windows 7 wouldn't install UNSIGNED drivers.
Solution..... Constantly press f8 on pc reboot, a list of options will show on pc screen, about 6 or so. The bottom one is worded, can't remember exact wording, in a way that lets you install UNSIGNED drivers. Select that option then connect phone to pc, while it's in fastboot, it should then install the phone drivers and "fastboot usb" will show on phone screen.
When the pc is rebooted it will revert back to not installing unsigned drivers but the ones you've just installed will "stay installed".
Worked for me, hope it helps.

I did, pretty much, the same thing last night. Went from sense to gpe and back to sense, didn't like gpe.
You need to change cid to 11111111, flash firmware to suit the sense ruu you're going to run, then run ruu.
Thread here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523, about going back to sense.
---------- Post added at 07:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:32 PM ----------
Mind you, you won't be able to do much, or anything, if your phone isn't detected in fastboot mode.

I think the, main, issue you have is that you need to flash sense firmware FIRST that suits the ruu you intend running.
Best place to get instructions for that is from the thread that I sent a link for. "Going back to sense from gpe" by grentuu.
You will also need adb installed on your pc and a basic knowledge of how to use it and it's fastboot commands.
adb, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
For basic adb the link above should help. I've got the full adb on my pc but the minimal one will work, I've used it too.
Edit.... I had a problem getting firmware to flash last night but after changing cid to 11111111 it flashed. Don't know if that was the problem or not but it flashed after changing cid.
Dude, you can't go back like that, it's a partition issue. There is a faster way to do this, but please learn the correct way first...

u need C++ 2008 32bit INSTALLED ,
if you havent figured it out just download this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368
holy crap! thanks for the fix. i have been trying to figure out why the HTC RUUs were not working any more.
A Word of advice for those of you Running Windows 7 64 bit, install the C++ 2008 32bit drivers. I installed the 64 bit thinking it's what I need since I'm running 7 in 64-bit mode. I was getting the side by side error (In Windows Application event log). Once I installed the 32bit c++ drivers, the RUU ran no issues. Thanks to all above.
