Anyone able to get OneNote and other Microsoft apps to work in multi-window? when testing the tab in store the app seemed to support it, but now that I have the tablet, I am unable to get them in multi-window.
Any ideas?

One Note will multi-window for me, but Word, Excel and PowerPoint all won't (S2 T710 under Android 5.1.1).

Yes you root and download an app called multi window commander. You can select any app you want for multi window. Works perfectly
Not working with multi window comander?

Although I prefer other keyboards on my Note 10.1, I'm sorta "stuck" with the preinstalled Samsung keyboard because of it's very decent handwriting-to-text capabilities.
Does anyone know of equally good apps which allow H-to-T, even better if it's possible to recognize handwriting from saved notes?
Any other good keyboards which have H-to-T? I've tried Swype, but it's not as good as Samsung's...
Thanks for your input!
I've been wondering this myself but I learned to love the sammy H-to-T even on AOSP roms on my Original Note I717, and having the Note 10.1 just makes this keyboard better. Now that feature you mentioned about recognizing text from notes, now that would be sexy...if you know what I mean.
Try 7notes available on Google play, you can use the inbuilt app to write notes in your handwriting and convert later or can do on the fly conversions with any app that allows keyboard entry. The recognition is the best I have seen on any app to date.
Another app you can try is notes mobile, currently only available from the Samsung app market which also allows you to take notes and convert later.

I'll take a look at 7notes, thanks! But I can't find "notes mobile" on the Samsung Apps page. Who's the maker, or if you can just send the link?
Thanks!!

Thanks! I actually found it searching the forum here! It is really good at what it does!
There are 3-4 different note taking apps out there which have something particular about them that make them special, and things that you hate. I wish someone would make one that had it all!
Thanks again!
Hi guys,
When I use two apps side-by-side, say Youtube and Skype, and I click on a friend's YT link, Skype disappears. I want to watch videos in YT above the Skype window, instead of having to pair the apps in multi-window mode all over again. In other words, I want links to open in the other app while staying side-by-side.This was possible on my Galaxy Note 10.1, so I wonder why it's not working here and if there's something that I need to do.
Thanks~
You may need to drag YouTube from the multi window launcher and place it above Skype before clicking on the yt link.

My Tab Pro 10.1 only allows two windows in multi-window mode, so I can't fully test this scenario. However, in Settings/Device/Multi window, there is an option to open in multi window view.
Once I checked that, then I opened the USA Today app alongside my browser. I then clicked on a link in the USA Today app, and it opened in the browser that is next to it.

Mainly because this is a Samsung feature the 'Internet' or the browser(modded apk) is integrated from Samsung which offers full support of their funcionality/features and Chrome is from Google which doesn't support Samsung features i may be wrong ofcourse probably if you mod the Chrome apk a bit it could be able to fully integrate with the scrapbook eg. detect the url
Greetings - Anyone know of any SMS/MMS App(s). compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro I can download from Play Store?....I downloaded/installed GO SMS Pro, but doesn't seen to work...Getting some msg. when I open it stating something about GOSMS prohibited by permission manager...Others I tried to download stated were not compatible: chomp SMS, Textra SMS, 8sms, HoverChat, Handcent sms,...
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated...Thank you...
I'm using MightyText, no apparent issues here. I have it setup on my Nexus 4, Tab Pro 12.2 and Windows 7 PC at work.
Are you trying to text directly from your tablet? You can set up a Google voice account and use that number for texting. Otherwise you need to set up an app that will transfer the text from your phone to your tablet via wifi or bluetooth. I have used mighty text on my computer, but an currently using Tablet Talk.
Nomedias/k8108 - Thank you for the feedback...
I attempted to download/install MightyText from the Play Store, but getting a msg stating that my device isn't compatible with this version...Been getting that a lot when attempting to download/install apps. from Play Sore...
Any ideas?...
I assume you didn't run into that problem when you installed on our Samsung TAB Pro(???)...
All I'm looking to do is send SMS/MMS from my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.2...
Thank you...

You can also use hangouts for this. But, you might want to complement it with the Xposed module XHangouts, for better mms handling.

I'm running stock Samsung ROM on my Tab Pro 12.2, and no I didn't have any problems. What ROM are you running? In the past I ran into app incompatibility issues on my HP TouchPad due to what a custom ROM would have for "ro.product.model" or "ro.product.name" in the /system/build.prop file. At times I had to tweak it to report another model to get certain apps to install.
Or, you can download it on another tablet, extract the apk and sideload. Keep in mind the Tablet and Phone versions of MightyText are different apps.

I want to use my tablet to text while at work because the only way I get reception is when the phone is 12' away sitting in a window. I have been tethering my tablet and use that at my desk.
Anyone know a good way to acomplish this? I know the G3 & G pad 8.3 can do this.
I'm running CM11 on my TP8.4 & a stock 1+One. Also, I use hangouts on my phone. I looked at mysms, but I don't want to have to use their app on my phone I still want to use hangouts, or something that runs in the background.

Personally I haven't tried it, but reading the explanations in the XHangouts OP it is supposed to be one of the best. Another alternative is to use Hangouts for GV/messaging using your GV number.

Thats a good idea, but i was hoping to use my carrier number. I dont really need a second line. I've read that voice is going the way of google buzz soon. I believe it now considering the new call feature in hangouts.
Try the tablet talk app. I use that for sending texts from my tablet. It tethers to my phone and shows I am texting from that number
MightText from tablet

Ugh, the forum won't me post links cause I'm a new user, but there's two separate apps for MightyText, one for your phone and one for your tablet. You probably downloaded the wrong one onto your tablet. Just search "MightText Tablet" in the play store.

Hi,
You should definitely give this new app called SVS a try. Download it from shareviasms.com or:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.svs.shareviasms
Properly known as Share Via SMS , is a friendly sms app built using material design. It lets you share images and audio over standard sms, without using the internet.
SVS its a great tool for who don't have access to the internet or can't afford data packages.
sync sms works great for me. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.d0lph1nk1ng.syncsms&hl=en
One of the reason i finally decided to go Android/Dex over IOS is cuz of its multi-tasking capabilities.
However, i was wondering if i would be able to run, say 2 Word documents at the same time while in Dex mode?
And does excel run macros/vlookups etc?
Did you try parallel apps ? Not sure about dex
Does anybody know if with the One UI update in Pie this is possible? I have a Tab S3 and I may upgrade to the Tab S4 if this is now possible.
I basically want to be able to multitask with two Word or Excel documents side by side. Any way to do this?
To get split screen view go to your recents menu and tap the icon of the app and it should say open in split screen view. Thats how i do it on my Tab S4 with Android P
You can only open one instance of most apps, and one document within them.. The only app I know let's you open multiple windows in DeX is Desktop Browser.
Otherwise, you can use two different apps in multiwindow or DeX to open the same file type - MS Excel, Google Sheets, Polaris Office, Office Sheets, etc for Excel... Adobe Acrobat & Moon+ Reader for pdf's... Etc...
This is a big miss compared to a real PC desktop environment.

AFAIK Polaris office can handle two instances at same time...
I tried in stock android and couldn't get two word docs to open separately. But maybe in DeX. The ads are terrible.

Yeah, I saw the new iPad OS is able to do this and multitask with two or more instances of the same app. If we could do this it would really replace my laptop in most cases.
