I currently have a rooted m8 that's is running the gpe marshmallow rom. I was having massive battery issues so I downloaded gsam and found that the android os kernel accounts for 98% of my battery usage. Is this normal?
I'm also running xposed on my phone. Since it's an early release, could it be the culprit?

Hi Everybody,
I 've owned the P8000 for 2 months and I was more than happy with the the device with stock kernel and Eragon 2.5.
Then, I decided to upgrade both kernel and ROM.
I moved 36 hours ago to visi0nary's kernel 1.21 and Eragon 5.0.
I performed a factory reset then flashed the ROM and then upgraded the kernel.
No issue whatsoever with that set up. It works nicely.
However, I noticed that the battery gets drained very fast. I basically let my phone in standby for 36hours and I have 50% battery left on the phone.
Any idea where it could come from and any way to improve that ?
Cheers
Ju
can you try installing gsam battery monitor so we can see what is using most of your battery? it might be the infamous audiomix drain but a reboot normally sorts that out...
another question. why do you change the kernel when you was "more than happy" before? think eragon was made specially for stock kernel. that this will run with different kernels would be nice, but this is not guaranteed.
With Eragon 5.0 and default kernel I've achieved the best battery results. I'm very happy with the general behavior P8000 and more with this rom
moved to kernel 1.4 and eragorn 5.5.. no improvement.
installed GSAM.
will report tomorrow
Battery life support
I have been trying different custom mods [ cloudyrom2.5 , blisspop (nighty and official), CyanogenMod 12.1 niglty and stock lg g3.
I notice on custom ROM base on pure android the battery last about 4:50 hours on screen and I notice it is because all lg services. Of this answer the battery life issue.
..And what is the problem?
It just a comment about all the battery life issue and the benefits of going to custom rom
I recently went back to Kitkat because there was too much battery drain in lollipop. Also lot of apps were not compatible with lollipop.
So first of all I installed cm11, but stock cm is too boring for me. Please recommend some kitkat custom roms. Any roms are appreciated (eg AOSP, Touchwiz)
Grab an older version of IronRom. Still running this on my T800 as not enough changes for me to upgrade to Lollipop. Great battery life and speed.

recently flashed cm13 ...when i was on stock battery was ok after rooting. But now in cm13 i have lost my root and the battery is draining too fast..
should i root it again with thunderzap kernel and supersu?????
Is there any way to to get same battery backup???
i love cm13 but battery draining fast plz help me
i have root my mobile first time.
The latest Snapshot of CM-13 is good and has no battery drain issues, as of ThunderZap there is a bug and the issue of battery draining has not been solved yet. My recommend is to install only CM-13.
Flash Thundetzap 5.1 and Super Su:good:
