Have you considered an Xposed module solution? Requires flashing Wanam Xposed framework installed along with Xposed Installer apk installed.
I just installed and tested this Xposed module on stock rooted OJ6 Odex ROM with Wanam Xposed framework and it works after activation and reboot. Minimal testing so far but seems to work as expected.

The volume buttons control call volume while in a call.

Since there are many people asking for this mod which is available on CM9/10, I was searching a bit and finally got it working. It works on any ICS/JB rom but I havent tried on GB. Thanks to rovo89 and stole38. Make sure you are following all steps correctly because if not, your phone will be stuck in a bootloop. OK, here we go ! :fingers-crossed:
Requirements:
1) Root
2) init.d Support
3) Brain
Installation:
1. Download this APK file and install it on your phone (Xposed Installer) HERE
2. Download this second app and install it on your phone (Xposed Tweakbox) HERE
3. Open the Xposed Installer and press Install/Update. Wait.
4. After installing the framework, press Soft Reboot. The phone will reboot and might boot longer than usual, dont panic
5. After the phone has rebooted, open the Xposed Installer again and go to the Modules tab.
6. Check Xposed Tweakbox. And exit the Xposed Installer.
7. Open the Xposed Tweakbox app and choose Miscellaneous from the menu.
8. Check Skip tracks with volume keys
9. Exit the application and reboot the phone
10. Enjoy !
NOTE: It works only when the screen is off (locked).
Awesome, just what I was looking for
Any bugs?

The tweakbox app says it can also enable the cool CRT screen off animation but i havent been able to get it to work, it says 'you need a special version of libsurfaceflinger.so to use these effects'
Any ideas where i xcan get the 'special' version of libsurface flinger.so??
Thanks for any help

The libsurface flinger.so file (library) is not compatible with out NXT devices causing them to restart and enter bootloop once replaced in system/lib (library). It can be only done in CM9/10. Will try to port it these days, but i dont promise anything.
Works in XTXperience 9!! Thanks bro!! :good:

After some minor headaches, i am running Wanam Xposed, XuiMod and GravityBox together (making sure not to set 2 to accomplish one goal)
And.... its working out beautifully..I have Wanam handling alot of the statusbar with GravityBox helping out some while XuiMod makes everything look nice.
What are some other modules that work well together?
There is a small list in the OP. Hope this helps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467958

Yes you will need to install
Framework before any modules will work. The framework is exactly that 'the framework for the modules'.

Xposed module Gravity Box allows Pie controls on stock Rom, it works pretty sweet, not very much to configure, it's not LMT but for pie lovers it does the job. It saves me from clicking the home key too many times.
here is the link to Gravity Box http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316070
and you also need Xposed framework here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
I take no credit, please give thanks to the original developers.

You need to root your device first before you can install the Xposed Framework. You can go to this thread to find out more about rooting http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460859

I just want to let people know that the Xposed framework has been updated to work with KitKat. I've got both Gravity Box and App Settings working without issue in Madmack's CM11. It's nice to have Pie back!
I am using this app from last one week so I was thinking to share with you

-Now Activate this app from xposed installer from taping modules and tap it QuicksettingsToggels app and click above modules option, select framework and click on install/update
-Reboot your device and open QuickSettingsToggels app and enable it and change it whatever your requirer and see magic

Hi, I rooted my SM-P600 using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-to-root-sm-p600-p601-p605-running-5-t3289740
Then installed Wanam Xposed Framework
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
Tried enabling additional apps to show up on Multi Window but after restarting, they were not showing in the Edit options, tried Multiwindow Plus and Multi Window Manager as well, none worked.
Has anybody been able to enable this feature on 5.1.1 stock?
Thanks

Works beautifully!!! thanks @alex_72gr!!!!
I switched on the multiwindow ability available in the lollipop wanam xposed module and it works, only problem being that it doesn't actually show those selected apps in the multiwindow bar.
Application X doesn't appear in the bar but application Y does, so I need to open app X first, and then drag the icon of app Y from the multiwindow bar and it'll work.

I prefer Multiwindow commander, less buggy. It's dirt cheap too...
