Its now happened 4 times always in the same place and Im wondering if its an issue with the Nexus or my carrier (or a combination of both) it never happened with my old Sony Xperia SP (call still dropped on xperia but always could dial or be called).
I go through a small village and the signal drops so call ends. Phone shows signal so I try and call back and call instantly says 'call ended'. The other person cant contact me either.
3 times its worked by turning off the phone then restarting it, today I had to restart then toggle aeroplane mode a few times before I could call, all the while the phone showed signal.
Is there anyone else who has experienced this behaviour? Its only this one location ive had the issue but not being able to reestablish a call is a real pain and shouldnt be happening from what I can see.
Network is EE in the UK.
May be a little late to answer, but i have the same problem. Could you do something to solve this issue?

Hello, so since friday evening it has been like this. It shows me 1-2 bars max and at the times disappears so i cant hear when someone calls me or i cant make calls either. The phone didn't fall or something, it just kinda happened.
Does anyone has fix for this?
It's not the sim problem, the sim is working great on other phones. Lagging only on this one.
I have an annoying signal loss problem that has been on-going since 4.4, seemed to get a bit better with 5.0, but is bad again with 5.1. At random intervals the phone just loses all signal, as in no bars at all (just an empty triangle), and not even a provider showing. It does say "Emergency Calls Only" in the titlebar, not "No Service", suggesting it actually has signal. This is exactly what it does with no SIM inserted, but I have tried different SIMs to no avail. Eventually it does come back again by itself, but restarting the phone always fixes it straight away.
I can also trigger this behaviour by making a call. Sometimes it works, but sometimes as soon as the call connects, the signal does as described above (so naturally the call drops).
I have googled this for hours and found some problems that sounded similar, but no suggested fixes made a lasting fix on mine. One suggested fix was to clear cache and data for the "Phone" app, force stop, then restart. However, I noticed I have 3 apps labelled Phone. Is this normal? I did the clear/stop/restart on all of them, and that possibly helped for a while, but it started doing it again.
Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this?
the network problem is very troublesome. I now use two phones, one specifically for calls, and one this X ZL. Mine has a bit different problem. it doesn't catch good signals, and while on calls, it automatically loses signals. the call quality is also poor, i tried different sims, but to no avail. my 4 year old Samsung champ gives loud clearer calls on the same sim on the exact same location at the same time where my ZL fails to deliver. i wish we could change the hardware network module

Hey! My wife has a t-mobile G3, stock non-rooted. It's running 6.0. She's had it for a year, and it's been fine (other than some wifi issues here and there). But in the last few weeks, she can no longer make calls.
The weird thing is the calls do "connect", but there's no sound either direction. For example, if she calls me, my phone will ring, but when I answer there is no sound either direction. Both of our phones show the call timer counting the seconds, as if they are both connected. If one of us hangs up, the other phone gets disconnected immediately---so the 2 phones are DO connect with each other, but no sound can pass. This happens with every number she calls.
I would have thought it might be a network problem, but she did a factory reset and it worked fine---until a few days later when it broke again. So I'm thinking it's software. Sometimes her phone will work for a few hours, but then it will stop working for a few days.
I've tried turning ON/OFF bluetooth, wifi, data, & wifi calling. I've tried changing to 2G network. I've tried different sound/noise settings. No change.
Any ideas?? Thanks
My wife's LG G4 will often dial the phone number but never rings or puts the call through. If I then call the number on my S8 it rings and goes through immediately. The LG G4 sometimes requires several reboots before it makes the call. Before this it always called with no problems. Anyone heard of this or know of a fix?
Thanks,
Richarrd

Now my sitiation prob aint nowhere near the same. But sometime on my g4 unlocked it takes a bunch of tries when on a 3g network. My voice connection tries to default to lte and if sigs to weak on lte i cant connect my calls. Got killer data even on 3g. Its ever so random. Never had to reboot to solve but forceing radio settings to lte only fixes most of the time. As we have prety decent steady lte. Only a few dead spots and i always land in the middle of dead spots
Thanks very much. That's an idea, forcing it to lte. I'll try it.

Richard
Hello everyone,
I have a Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite which I use as a secondary phone.
I'm experiencing a serious issue which happens randomly during the day:
all of a sudden, especially after long sleeps, the phone seems completely isolated from the mobile network making it impossible to send/receive calls, although showing data coverage.
What I noticed during one of this episodes in the #*#*4636*#*# menu is that the phone is trying to connect to the preferred network NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA.
Switching that to GSM/WCDMA/LTE (PRL) revives the connectivity.
Any idea on how this can happen?
Thank you
I too am face the similar issues. I am running PixelExperience 12.1. I use two India SIMs with WiFi calling support.
As you mentioned, after long sleeps, the phone is not able to make calls or connect to receiving calls. Sometime, the call gets disconnected as soon as we answer and won't be able to call back. If the phone connects, the call is completely silent. Disconnecting and calling back works sometimes but most times, call doesnt go through. Putting it on flight mode and back sometimes makes it work. Sometimes restarting makes it work. Either way, its really frustrating.
I tried look at logcat output but I am not able to figure out what is going wrong because of the volume of things happening at that time.
Which is the OS version and firmware you are on? Stock MIUI? Or custom rom?
