Hello,
I am having issues with TWRP on my Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi Only.
I have used TWRP before, but only on my Nexus 6. I am trying to use TWRP to wipe my Nexus 7 so I can install a custom rom. However, every time I try to wipe it just fails. I do not know why. The only thing I noticed, is that TWRP asks me for permissions to modify when I boot recovery on my Nexus 6, however it is NOT asking me when I boot recovery on my Nexus 7. I have a felling this is why, but I can not get it to ask for permission to modify.
Any idea?
I am clueless right now. How come I had zero issues with everything I have done on my Nexus 6, now I get a Nexus 7 and I can't even get the thing to wipe.... wtf?
EDIT: I just realized how DEAD the Nexus 7 (2013) area of XDA is.... I'm not having a very good start with mine. Hmmm
Is your N7 rooted? What do you mean with wipe? Downloaded a ZIP with a ROM and flashed it in TWRP?

Try flashing twrp again and then try wiping again
Hi I've had the nexus for just over a month now running on MM 6.1 since its updated the keyboard on one side won't type. Also the device keeps locking itself when I try to unlock it it freezes and goes on a black screen then I have to turn it on and off to get it to work again. Has anyone else had this problem? And is there a way to fix it? I've tried a factory reset which works for a few days then it starts again. Thanks

Sorry for the bad english...
My Samsung Galaxy Nexus reboots about every 20 seconds if I'm trying to start the System. When I'm in the Recovery (TWRP), everything works fine. Here is a short Video, to show the booting issue:
/watch?v=sGfQDrah55s
(I have not enough posts to post an outside link right now, sorry. But I think you know how to use the part of the youtube URL)
As you can see, sometimes the SGN reboots after a few seconds while showing the bootlogo and sometime (as you can see at the end of the video) it boots until I can make a few things on the system like unlook it. But at least... it always reboots after a short time until the battery is empty.
At the moment, I have a CyanogenMod ROM installed, but it doesn't matter which ROM I'm going to try. Exactly the same bootloop happens with AOKP or SlimROM or even the FactoryImage. I realy don't know how to fix it. I tried so many things until now. The Video is taken with my new Galaxy S4, but the Galaxy Nexus is to good to throw it into the rubbish without any hardware fault...
You need more information? Please ask me!
Thank you for your help.

Did you wipe data before flashing the rom?

Sometimes I wiped it before and sometimes not, I tried it so many times and it doesn't make any change to the boot issue :/.
wipe data and cache then flash whatever rom you want.
if it doesnt work, try to flash stock rom.
That is bad zip.

Hi,
I have a Galaxy Nexus GT-i9250. I used to use it to play around with ROMs and all. But the last time I flashed a CM11 and DirtyV Kernel, the phone started stuttering during boot and when I tried to flash a new ROM, the ROM just wouldn't take, it just kept coming back to the same version of CM11. I've even tried returning to stock using Root Toolkit and the like but still doesn't work.
Is there a way to fix it? I really really like my Galaxy Nexus, so I'm willing to spend a few bucks, but not too much that it'd make sense to buy another phone.
Go into recovery mode n see if u can just use one of your backups from there

I tried. No luck.
It's a strange thing. A lot of Galaxy Nexus had that kind of problem in these days, and many thread on xda confirms that.
That thing happened to me as well. No luck. No way to fix the problem by software ways for me.
There was no way to unlock the bootloader, I mean, I did it by fastboot but after every reboot it came back locked.
No recovery worked, even a custom recovery booted temporary didn't help. Wipe data etc but after the reboot the device booted as I haven't wipe anything..
Odin didn't work, same as before. It took time, it seems that was working on something, but no luck after reboot, everything was the same as before, as if I haven't done anything.
Couldn't enable usb debug to use ADB 'cause I activate that but after the reboot (guess what?) it was disabled again..
I tried almost every way..
An xda user said that "if you unlock the bootloader and after the reboot it's locked again, the emmc is fried".
So sad
was trying to get a ROM and vendor IMG installed and it all went down hill VERY fast. Im not able to get into TWPR and getting the red triangle.
Anyone have any tuts or tips to flash this back!
update:
Was able to get into fastboot mode and use wugs to reinstall. I REALLY need to get back into using ADB!
Everything you could ever want to know about the 5X in one thread including setting up the android SDK and using ADB/fastboot.

yeah ill read through that. I honestly stopped using adb a while ago so I forget everything with that. The last phone I bricked was my nexus S! I used FB and ADB to restore it and then root everything up till a bit ago when I just tried and started using the wug tool box.
Its gotten me out of some jams. I was able to get it to stay on the FB bootloader screen long enough (cause it was looping too) to grab it and start flashing. Im back up, rooted, updated and already put in my edit for tethering!
Was scared for a minute though
was having a weird issue anyway prior where it kept telling me my phone was full. Now Im to normal with like 4 gigs used out of 24, until I titanium and TWRP backup
Hello guys,
A friend of mine just bought nexus 5 from some guy at a cheap price the only problem with the phone was its wifi & Bluetooth was not working so my friend changed some IC's and still the problem persists now he has handed his phone over to me(I love fixing things) for few weeks to fix the problem. I don't know whether the problem is related to hardware or with the OS I'm thinking to root the phone and install CM 13 and see whether it fixes the problem.
What else would you guy's suggest ? Where could possibly the problem lie?
Your suggestions are most welcomed.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Thanks for reading.. waiting for replies.

Is this a Nexus 5X with a fingerprint sensor or Nexus 5? I'd say start from a clean slate with the factory image then decide if it's hardware or software related.

Sorry, I posted in wrong section its Google nexus 5 not 5x.
Where can I find factory image?
Also, how should I figure out what the problem might be?
Can I go for CM instead of stock ROM?
Thanks for reply.

Factory images: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en
I've never owned the Nexus 5 but for any phone I'd go back to stock and test out the phone. I suggest resetting the router, upgrading the software, or changing frequencies with WiFi. For BT, try pairing with another device and see if it works.
If WiFi and BT are not connecting even after a factory reset and install of the factory image, that's likely a hardware problem.

I guess to even install stock image I'll need to unlock bootloader and root it and install the stock image or should I root and install other ROM's like PURE LEXUS...etc.

That's up to you. Maybe it is software related and easily fixable via custom rom? I'm sure people in the Nexus 5 forums would be better informed.

Have you simply tried to open the back cover and see if the antenna's are properly connected? There are 2 (left and right of the battery). If that checks out then i would unlock the bootloader and install the latest factory image. Installing another ROM like Pure or whatever doesn't guarantee it's a software or hardware issue. Best troubleshooting step is to use the latest stock rom and go from there.
Hi,
A few hours ago I randomly got into a some kind of bootloop. It's not the "normal" bootloop where simply the boot animation is played forever. Instead my boot continues afterwards like normal until there's this short black screen before entering your SIM's pin card. This never appears and it begins again with the "Your bootloader is unlocked. Please lock it...."-message.
I already flashed the Factory Image twice via the ADB console on my PC and Wugfresh's Toolkit.
Additionally I can't seem to acess the stock recovery, the "red android guy" never appears and it only reboot itself after choosing the recovery in Fastboot Mode.
Any help is appreciated!

Try to flash TWRP, in TWRP wipe every partition and then try to flash the stock image again

It seems like your partitions are messed up, did you tried to flash it via the flash-all script that is included in the stock image zip file?

OK, I now tried the flash-all script with the newest factory image drectly from Google but still the same issue.
I'll now contact Lg to at least try to get a RMA because I think I tried the most solutions.
If there's anyone that has another Idea, feel free to post it here

Yea, that would be the best idea. Maybe it's slowly getting into that "classic" bootloop, which everyone talks about

I got a very interesting update on my issue.
My phone worked for a few minutes now, it booted normally and I could even set it up completely. But now it's the same problem again so I more and more think it could be faulty hardware.
Anyways I contacted LG for a RMA and we'll what happens.
Thanks for your help

You'll get the RMA, that is a hardware failure.
Last Update:
LG accepted my RMA request and I'll send them it ASAP.
Thank you everyone for helping me!
I'll mark this thread as solved.

Little OT, but how long have you had your 5X? It looks like all the 5x's are just time bombs in case of that hardware bootloop. I'm thinking about selling my 5x and buying something that will not die on me some day.

I bought my Nexus in December 2015 so around 2 1/2 years ago. It's a nice phone never had any serious problems with it except now.
