Hello.
First I am new to the forum and I hope it does not violate any rule.
I have a problem with the model HTC 820 HTC OPFJ400.Am specifically tried to work through it from what I knew but nothing worked: Recovery / Factory Reset
Let me tell you about the issue.
Now a few days, my father received an update on the phone and wanted to make it .When gave the update to start the phone suddenly went out, then tried to switch it on and do not know what that can no longer pressed between the phone and the only access three menus. I'll put some pictures to see which ones are three menus
Apparently not have enough posts to be able to put pictures but will leave 0034-632763952 WS number for those interested in pictures.
I looked left and right after tutorials but nothing helped.
I want to return it to its original factory state.
If anyone can help me with a step by step tutorial or more tutorials step by step to bring back to the factory settings.
Once again I hope you will not violate any rules and I apologize if I have violated.
Thank you for your time.

I debranded my desire, and did an OTA to 2.2. Everything was fine for a day. Then the phone got a little bit wet, but the labels are still white, now it is stuck on the white screen with green HTC logo.
Last night I managed to get it into safe mode, but wheneve i turned it off, it went back to the white screen, I then had to do a recovery, and it would load up.
Now i can get to to the bootloader screen.
I think i need to flash a rom from my SD card. But I cant work out how to do it, could anyone point me in the right direction please !! I cant take it back to T mob, as I have debranded it.
Can i creat a gold card from my phone ?
Can i use RUU with an earlier ROM??
Please help a fellow desire owner out !!
Can you elaborate on
"A little bit wet"
and what action's you took when it happened and what you did
to ensure it was dry before you tried to turn it back on?
it was out in the rain for a few minutes, non of the visible stickers are pink/red.
i turned it on straight away. it wasnt dropped in water or anything.

To do this you need:
1. to do a bit of searching
2. to read a bit more carefully.
What you need is here. Incidentally, it happens to be the first thread of the forum. Now that I did the 1. for you, you can proceed with 2.. And only after having thoroughly read all explanations, you can ask a question about what you don't understand, I'll be more than pleased to assist you with this.
Good luck
f.
P.S: if you understand less than the half of what is explained in the Guide, you shouldn't try anything or your may end up with a paperweight. Solution: browse the Internet to have an explanation of all terms and procedures before you proceed. I'm new to android, but an advanced user in WinMo, so I read, searched and read again 1 week long during my last holiday, and then I bought my Desire, rooted it the same day and started to flash custom roms on it. My first flash was on 27th july 2010.

I take your comments onboard, thankyou, I did the offical OTA 2.2, it worked fine for a day, now it is in a constant reboot cycle.
Is there anything I can do ? I can access the bootloader screen, but it wont go into recovery mode.
Any help greatly recieved
A couple of years ago i asked this forum to help me install the unbranded version of the ROM from HTC for my Desire. I created the goldcard, installed the ROM as instructed and everything worked fine. I was happy for 2 years.
Fast forward, my phone fell a couple of weeks back and now when the screen turns off the power button fails to turn it back on. The buttons at the bottom of the phone do illuminate when I press the power button, but the screen does not turn on. Even receiving a call or an alarm ringing does not turn the screen on. The only solution so far has been to remove the battery and reboot the phone: this solution works, but not on every occasion.
I have tried to reset it back to factory settings, but that has not helped. I have tried to install the ROM from scratch (I want to confirm if this is a software problem), but every time I try to install it I get the following error:
ERROR [131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.

The interesting thing is that the ROM is the one I used 2 years ago and, while I generated a new goldcard, I checked and can confirm that the old goldcard and the new goldcard are identical.
I have then tried rooting the phone using SuperOneClick, Unlock Root and Unrevoked - so as to try installing another ROM instead -, but all of them have failed. It seems that they all try to install some drivers and fail.
I have exhausted all my ideas on what to do.
Any ideas on how to save this phone? I really like my Desire and I do not want to buy a new one right now.
Thanks in advance for your help and support.
I think you are being a little optimistic about it being a software fault. The fact the issue developed after being dropped points to it being hardware (Proximity Sensor possibly).
I wouldn't be screwing around with roms/rooting at all.
Any ideas how to fix it?
Sorry no, the PS being at fault is just a guess as being a logical thing to start with. If you aren't comfortable in dismantling the phone and looking for obvious damage then you'd be best to consult a technician.
Ok, then let's edit the question slightly:
1. Can somebdy help root the device?
2. Can somebody help me understand why the old ROM is failing to install?
Hello, i'm sorry that my first post on this forum is an question about my no longer working htc one x. I have been gathering information of this forum for a long time, and allways helped me, but this time i am really stuck. So in advance i thank you for all the help you already have given me
This is what happened
my first HOX had a defect sim reader, was declared DOA so i got a new one, so far so good
but after using the phone for about 2 weeks,
all apps started closing one at a time, untill the phone went black (it was still on, but nothing was working)
at first i tought i installed a bad app, so reset the phone to factory settings.
after i did that it worked for a few days untill the same phenomenon happened again.
this time i reset the settings via the power+volume button boot menu, and in android wiped the SD card.
again it worked for a few days,
untill it all started going haywire.
all the apps i installed the last time where whatssap and dropbox (no games and such)
now i rarely can get my phone to boot, or go into recovery.
when i connect it to my charger it has no red light.
if i get it to boot, i usually cant get past the sim unlock screen.
i have been thinking about returning it, or installing another rom (wich i have done before on my htc desire wich worked great)
problem is, i cant go into android to tick on the usb debug.
sorry for the long post, i'd be really happy if you could help me out in this one.
my htc is from the dutch vodafone provider.
cheers,
Schella

mmh i read about same problem with someone, here on xda, are your bootloader unlocked?
it seems to be a firmware problem, so you can try to install a ruu if it's available, and if it's not, you can try to ask for htc or vodafone to change it with another hox, or you can unlock bootloader and install a custom firmware, hoping that it will not give you the same problem! (unlocking bootloader MAY void all or part of your warranty)>>it depends only from htc... in some country they don't care, in some other, they will not repair it.
aha

Hi,
I am a newb to this.
Have gone through the below links to unlocks my new samsung s2 t989 (locked totmobile)
Below is the step followed to unlock
Tried the steps mentioned in the below post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024514
Didnt work. Going through the forum again i understood i need to install the new radio UVLE1
Followed the below link to install
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36417242&postcount=145
Only deviation done was to enter to download mode as the steps mentioned in the above forum didnt work.
So reffered to the youtube link for the same -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHi0SIu7cXk
Then follwed the rest of steps as explained by OP.
Unfortunatly i was not able to find any range for the Tmobile SIM and the phone started to work very slowly.
Then i trien unlocking after entering
Go to dailer screen. press *#197328640#
Though it was a bit slow i was able to navigate to the screen with DEUG Screen option -
The screen will change to the hidden menu as soon as you hit the last # key in the dailer
press [1]DEBUG SCREEN
When i press on 1 nothing was happening. waited for a long time.
I think the greatest mistake i did after this was tried to reset to factory setting. I assume the software crashed and i am now not able to switch on the phone.
i am able to get to the boot options with various options
Also the cloclworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.7 is displayed in the screen.
Can some one help me with options to restart my phone and make it to work as normal.
A detailed explanation with links would help me as i am completly a newb to this.
Many thanks in advance.

If you are able to get into recovery, place your rom of choice on the external SD card, insert it into your phone, and flash the rom from recovery.
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish, unlocking the phone, or flashing a rom...
same problem
i did pretty much exactly what u did, flashed the radio for unlock, then it went slow as ****,. then i installed a rom and now it keeps rebooting with some roms and other roms it get stuck on the samsung logo. bull ****, i went to a site to unlock it, paid 6 dollars, then they email me and tell me they cant do it, wtf. now i cant even use my phone to play music. please help
Hi All -
I know this issue has been covered a million times but I am just completely overwhelmed with all the readings and videos I've watched over the last couple of days. I really tried to understand everything but with the lack of any trouble shooting experience with Android phones, I am completely lost.
Background:
-- like I said I have no knowledge in fixing these phones so all the research I've done so far has been really confusing. A lot of the technical
words I dont even understand.
-- I can navigate myself around my computer (windows 7)
-- My phone is HTC one X completely stock. It was working fine 2 days ago and all of sudden it rebooted itself and its been stuck on the
"HTC quietly brilliant" screen.........i will eventually shut down and back to the same screen again.
-- I tried the "Factory reset" option but it does not do anything when I press the power button.............. stays in the same screen
-- I tried "recovery" and "fastboot" options but it just goes back to the same loop.
Can someone please provide a link or a "guide for dummies" that is a "one stop shop" where I can get all the software I need to unbrick this phone? Maybe it already exist, I just did not recognize it.
My impression on the guides I've read are for experienced folks or at least for people who have done this once or twice in the past. Alot of this stuff is way over my head. I need a simple step by step procedure without the assumption that I know what I'm doing.''
I apologize for my ignorance but I just need your help. Thank you in advance.
