hi,does anyone have this kind of screen on your lg g3?
the black spot is hardly visible.only visible in light colors.
and very visible when tilting the phone.
wonder if thats a burn o something else.
Hotspot from the prossecor i have it to had to change my thermal props to limit even lower plus i did the thermal mod with the heat grease on the prossecor it seems like its got a little better but still slightly noticable on white screens
so this is a hardware problem?did the dark spot spread on your phone or its stay the same?my phone is still in warranty but the problem is the dark spot is hardly visble so maybe the shop will not acknowledge it as a deffect.

Had it on my Gpad. I returned it. Nothing you can do can make it go away.

For me if this is very small keep your phone and n'joy.
This technology (ips) had this issues and i see other phones and tv's with the same bleeding. For now we can't do anything.
If you want perfect screen you must go on amoled technology.

Sorry for bringing up this old thread.
My two day old G4 has some light bleeding too. I find it pretty annoying and I'm going to try to have it replaced. It's the result or combination of not enough or wrongly positioned adhesive and insufficiently applied pressure during LCD-glass-body/frame assembly or simply a bad panel. In such a case components of the screen can lift or even move within the screen and let light from the backlight shine through the upper layers of the panel. Of course, there can be other reasons for light bleeding. In any case; You don't have to live with it. It's a production error, a quality issue and not a feature in LCD panels. RMA it or get it replaced. You paid hard earned money for it.
Does anyone else have a little but of backlight bleeding on the bottom right of their 10?
Oddly enough it isn't visible on a black screen, only colors. Grey seems to be when it is most visible, such as the calculator app.
I think I might have a very slight amount of bleed. I never would have noticed it though unless I was looking for it.

Yep. Lower right corner. It does seem to show up better on gray.

Hmm, interesting. It's definitely not enough to warrant an exgange or anything in my opinion.
Still kind of annoying though.
Almost all LCD screens have some form of light bleed. My G4 has light bleed around the edges, if you're in a dark room with moderately high brightness. Not noticeable any other time.

I suppose I'm surprised only because the M8 that I had exhibited zero bleed.
Like I said before, not a huge deal, just a bit curious.
I just noticed some light bleed on the exact same spot: lower right corner. Is your display a Tianma by chance? Can it get worse over time? To be honest, I didn't notice any bleeding on the M8 or M9 either, so I'm a bit surprised as well.
Light bleed should not get worse over time.
Either I'm blind or I don't have any bleed.
I'm kind of dissapointed of HTC quality. All my android phones are/were HTC but I think that their quality is getting worser. Month ago I've decided to buy HTC A9, first unit had crackling earpiece. Replaced it and the second unit already had burned spots on the AMOLED. Then I've decided to spend some extra cash and replaced the second A9 with HTC 10. The first unit had 2mm white spot 1cm above the fingerprint scanner. The screen was also a bit dimmer and at full brightness the LCD grid was clearly visible. There was also a gap above the earpiece from where I was able to see the headphone jack internals, so probably a few rain drops and the phone is bye bye. The second HTC 10 have some gaps here and there but nothing major...they'll fill with dust and durt over time, so there will be no gaps .and yes the there is backlight bleed in the lower right corner also smaller amount bleeding on the entire lenght of the upper part of the screen. I've noticed the bleed right away when I was still at store, but honestly I have never seen LCD without even small amount of backlight bleedind and also I gave up on finding the perfect HTC A9 or HTC 10 , so I'm keeping the second one and I'll try to forget about the price paid.
....I don't think that matters, but yes mine display is Tianma.
same here, fa67 black, tianma 2 weeks old
whiteness on the lower right (it seems bigger in calc app), above home button, but gently pressing and holding between scanner-home button disappears that.
i think there is a small gap in the screen, but this annoys me
Neither here, I have a Tianma panel, but I am struggling to understand where the light is bleeding?
Front of my phone is black, so screen is up against front black bezel, where would it bleed to ?
any chance for a photo example?
I am planing to buy the mate 20, the regular one, and was wondering if it has any issues like the pro version. I read that it doesnt have the green hue around the screen, but it does have some white bleed (usually at the bottom of the screen). If you own one please report if you have or dont have any screen issues. Thanks.
well it has the lower edge bleeding symptom but it is very mild and not noticeable like pocophone .. i remind you this is normal with ips panels .. it needs a pixel peeping eye to notice the bleeding
anything else you want to ask about ?!
Mine has light breed at the bottom, left, and, right (more at the bottom). I can see it quite obviously when on grey/ brown backgound but it doesnt bother me much.

My mate 20 bottom have yellowish. Means its normal? It can be clearly seen when using white background and 100% brightness. If auto mode, sometimes can see the difference ???

i noticed that too but it is not noticable at all and considered a very minor issue that do not require you sending the phone back
ppl must appreciate something here quality control is becoming not acceptable those days when it comes to display screens .. all amoled screens exhibit an obvious color tint when looking at the phone or just angling it .. so think before you send it back .. you might get a worse phone .. you might not find another phone model with a better screen
i noticed the bleeding lower edge but it is better than most phones .. i noticed the all over yellowish tint of screen when colors set to normal but when i changed it to vivid cool whites are good and acceptable .. the lower yellowish tint is there also but it is minimal and considered a normal variance when dealing with screens .. the screen has a tendency to oversaturate red color and when you put phone into landscape videos contrast and colors increased abnormally but there may be a software fix for that soon
so you must know what are you dealing with and what to expect
also the mobile overheats when playing pubg on max for more than 15 minutes but i think thats quite normal when you pack the strongest processer and battery of that size in one phone
Thank God I don't have it.
The phone otherwise has a wonderful battery, easily last 7 hours sot during 19 to 24 hours charging cycle, very fast and stable l, camera is really good buttttt.... Emui is still crippled and stupid !!! For example comparing it to one UI beta I have on my note 9, HUGE DIFFERENCE in user experience animation and usefull features
I have a Mate 20 since one month and no problem with the mobile, the screen or anything else.
Actually it's normal for all IPS Panels and believe me you'll never notice anything not unless you will look for it. It's visible only in certain angles.
No problems here, anything good
Well, this frustrates me a lot,I'm just uploading video so you can see and compare to some cheap other chinese phone.
I'm noticing yellow tone all over screen, kinda like there is a night filter on with very low bright nightlight settings.
I increased brightness all the way to 100 % didn't help.
I also removed plastic cover from phone, nothing, still present.
I even switched to Vivid display settings before that and reduced RGB (R channel all the way,G to middle and Blue increased all the way) and set tone color to cooler slider all the way,no difference.
So,since I purchased using phone,is this some software bug/issue or I got faulty screen (maybe some kind of damage from sunburn),or this is just how this display work?
I'm uploading video and will post link soon...
So anyone else having same issue, and what to do,be sure I can not RMA the phone since I purchased it used.
I'm also anxious that the screen might die on me soon.
But this yellow tone frustrates me a lot, colors are not accurate at all because of it.
does it show in safe mode? what happens after reboot, goes away and come back later or...?

Hmm,why would I want to access safe mode,I don't have issues with phone except bad wifi and this issue.Mostly it's noticeable while watching vids (youube),look here if you can see the difference...but maybe it is suppose to be like that.
I set color mode all the way to cool tone and no difference to my eye.
I called a friend on a drink which has N10+ too, then we put 4k Nature video on each of the phones at same time and same screen lightning intensity.
No diference,between them...so now I'm confused totally.
Are my eyes cheating on me,is it possible that there is slight yellow tint (like light night light filter) or something is wrong with my eyes?
Is it possible that maybe screen adapts it self based on ambient light so I'm seeing yellowish tone...who knows, but I do trust my eyes, though picture was the same color accuracy on both phones...
I'm totally confused now...
I have currently 2 note 10+ phones. One which still has the original display while on the 2nd I installed a new display with frame. Comparing both these phones now, the older display - about 1.5 years old with light screen burn on the bottom is more yellow than the new one. The new one is very white compared to the old one. Maybe your display is showing its age?
damn...it was a damn mask/cover with yellow tint over it,not display...how was I stupid.
Some weird posts here, didn't you say you removed the film earlier ?
.. is the sound u get when tapping the screen also changing depending on where you tap the screen; meaning it sounds more low-pitched in the middle of the screen and more higher at the top and bottom?

Jup. As this point I'd call it common knowledge, we have talked about this on XDA for about 9512 times already^^
We even have dedicated threads, the search engine is your friend here.
It has to do with how the screen has been bonded to the edge of the frame and what lies underneath the screen. It's also present on quite the number of other phones, like the new IPhone 13s.
And the beat goes on
thanks guys!
so lets get on to another screen issue (since i cannot find a display thread here): do u also have a reddish tint as soon as u slightly tilt the phone?

Nope, not at all. I just checked most colors and tilted my phone in every direction, and for some odd reason I can't seem to find any sort of color tint. Even my white stays white in a ridiculous tilt, which never happened before with a pixel phone. All my previous pixel phones went a bit bluish when tilted. .Maybe my eyes have gone kaboom sh*t crazy, or I won the lottery ticket of this years display.
Some people here claimed / talked about a yellowish tint of their display, even though that was more of a general sort and also present when the phone was not tilted. I'm not able to reproduce that, so there is not much more to say.
Do you have a screen protector by chance? That one might be responsible for tint if tilted.
