I have looked at many forums about the S Voice not connecting with the Gear 2 Neo but none of them have been able to fix my problem. A lot of people say they were missing the saproviders.apk but I have that and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Gear app which installs it and still nothing.
When I try to connect it says connection failed. When I go in to my apps in the gear menu, I can't get in to the setup for S Voice. Everything else seems to work just fine. I get my messages, phone calls and other notification. I just can't get S Voice to connect. It works fine on my Note 4, so I know the app itself is working.
I have a Note 4 running 5.1.1. It is not rooted. It was connected to a Gear Fit before I got the Gear 2 Neo.
Does anyone have any ideas. I have been search for days to find out a solution.
Thanks in advance.

Just wondering if anyone is having issues this morning.
Yes, but only issue is in going to settings
Hey. ..I have the AT&T Note 4 paired with the Galaxy Gear 2 and so far, everything seems OK except when I click on settings in the Gear Manager. When I do that, the app force closes.
I am getting the same thing. Force close when clicking on settings.
How odd, you would think Galaxy and Gear should go perfect together... my moto 360 paired right up, but it uses motorola's connect app instead of gear manager
I uninstalled and re-installed the app today. All is working well now.

Installed fine on my.. I did get an unknown sources error because it seems iheartradio comes with iheartradio for the gear smartwatch and I guess it tries to sideload that maybe... otherwise, it installs fine.
Thanks for the feedback. I wonder what's so unique about my setup. I do have the Samsung gear neo 2. So maybe there's something conflicting going on. Android wear vs tizen.

Yea, I have a Gear 1. I think it's trying to sideload the Gear app, but Android isnt letting it.
I went back and checked "unknown sources" and reinstalled it, now I have an iheart radio app on my watch..
I Am Having the Same Problem
Verizon Galaxy Note 4 with Samsung Gears app installed for Gear S watch. IHeartRadio fails to install after getting an error associated with the Samsung Gear app. I have changed security settings to allow unknown sources both in the Samsung Gear app and the general settings on the phone. No luck. Still fails.
I wrote to IHeartRadio technical support over the weekend and received this prompt reply:
I apologize for the difficulty you are experiencing with iHeartRadio. There is currently a known issue with iHeartRadio disappearing or failing to install when connected to a Samsung Gear device. We are working to resolve this issue.
However, you can still enjoy iHeartRadio with your Samsung Gear not connected to your mobile device! I know that this is not the most optimal solution, but we appreciate your patience while we work on resolving this.
So let's keep an eye out for an update to IHeartRadio.
I have the iheartradio app installed from the play store without any issues. Installed fine and works fine.
Not sure whats up with yours.
Good luck

Do you have the Samsung Gear app running on your phone and a Samsung Gear S watch connected via bluetooth? If not, your situation is irrelevant to this issue.
Im getting the same issue, and it started aftet connecting my gear 2 neo. Very strange and i hope they fix this soon.

Possible Solution
A poster on another board came up with a solution which I do no take credit for, but share here for the benefit of all.
After the Gear S software "uninstalls" IHeartRadio, leave the Gear S watch connected. Then go into the Samsung Gear S manager on the phone, select "Settings" (scroll down to he bottom), then select "Security". Uncheck the option to allow applications to be installed from other sources. Back out of the menus and then go to the Play Store.
Install IHeartRadio from the Play Store. When you receive the dialog that IHeartRadio will NOT be installed on the Gear S, select "CANCEL". Do not select "OK".
The install of IHeartRadio should complete without attempting to side load on the Gear S. Just leave the "install from other sources" option off until you need it.
I have encountered a similar problem with TripIt being uninstalled by the Gear S manager. Here, the solution is to simply install the TripIt app from the Galaxy Gear store (preloaded on the phone) instead of the Play Store. This version from Galaxy Gear appears to play nice with the Samsung Gear S manager.
Good luck!!
As was posted earlier this is a known issue which we're working with Samsung to resolve. Our next release should address this issue but there is a workaround which you can try (same as was posted above) if you'd prefer not to wait (with the caveat that we're not responsible for any issues that might arise from this workaround).
Pair your mobile to your Samsung Galaxy Gear or Gear 2
In the Samsung Gear app on your phone, visit Settings > Security > Unknown Sources
Install iHeartRadio
When the unknown sources message is displayed, select CANCEL

ok tried that it still failed...it will install the app then clean master says its safe to open then you get a message from gear manager that says failed to install the app.
now i tried to side load the app still failed if its recent but if you install from amazon app store it works fine but no gear application.
if you turn bluetooth off and install iheart from the play store it will work just fine even play music but soon as the neo connects
the iheart app fails to install to the gear watch and then removes the app again.
i even tried to go to the samsung app store to get iheart but its not in that store at all.

From what I've seen this happens on some devices, you can always try installing from the Amazon App Store (it's an earlier build of iHeartRadio for Android).
We have fixed this in our latest build, I just don't have a date yet for when we'll be publishing it to the Google Play Store. It'll be soon though!
rp is not good, Mine is fine

Had my Gear S3 paired to my Pixel XL for a couple days now. For the most part it works as advertised, a couple glitches so far.
Yesterday I dialed my wife from my phone and it passed the audio through my Gear S3, then I hung up and tried it again and this time it routed the call through my Pixel.
Today my alarm went off and only the phone notified me, then later on the day another alarm went off and this time the phone and watch notified me (which is what it's supposed to do).
Another glitch today was I received a couple emails, the watch made the notification sound but no vibration. Then the next few email notifications it notified me via sound and vibration (which is what I set it to do).
Don't know if it's a glitch with the Gear S3 but its only happened a couple times. Still LOVE THE WATCH.
Oh by the way if you get the Frontier, the bezel feels loose and it almost drove me crazy until I went to Best Buy to try out the demo they had and it felt the same.
Samsung pay actually works for me. It's weird cause everyone online says it doesn't I have 5 cards paired and have used it at sheets. I had no issues. Maybe the app was updated today as I just got mine today... But that was the one thing I hated to let go from my note 7 now I literally have the best of both worlds... This is thee best smart watch I've used right down to build quality.
Have you guys gotten text messages and responding to work or is that Svoice and Samsung messaging app only?
I've had both paired for over a month now (since the S3 came out) and love it. The biggest feature for me was Samsung Pay since the S3 has MST support. The Gear app updated about a week after having it which worried me because I thought it would work right out of the box. Even with the Pixel XL rooted, running a custom kernel, and an unlocked bootloader, Pay works fine. You just have to sign back into the Samsung Pay app through the Gear app after every few purchases (which can get annoying when you're trying to be cool.). Anyway, once you set up S-Voice you can send texts through it. I am using Textra and it works fine. I would imagine it would work with stock messenger as well. I can also use S-Voice to make calls through the stock dialer. Haven't used it for emails yet.
There have been a few things on the watch that have bothered me. If I turn off the call feature (because taking calls through the watch is most times inconvenient) then turning the ring doesn't work to answer or reject calls. It would be nice if you were to turn it and the phone would answer in speaker mode. Also, my watch always locks on me. I think with the factory strap the watch rides up too high on my wrist and a tattoo there messes with the sensors and the watch thinks i'm not wearing it. It's annoying to have enter my pin everytime I want to look at a notification. I'm am ordering another strap which I hope will hold the watch closer to my wrist and tighter to the skin which I hope will help.
Battery life has been great with me, but I don't have LTE, Wi-Fi, or the AOD on. Through regular use from 0700-2200, I put it on the charger and it has 87% life left on average.
At the end of the day, I love it. I just wish Samsung would ditch Tizen and go with Android Wear. I'm sure they could make Samsung Pay work with Wear.

The only issue I had was that Hangouts would not allow me to reply until I installed Android Wear. Counterintuitive I know, but it seems there are some parts in Android Wear that Hangouts needs to work with Samsung Gear.

Hi
Most annoying issue for me is when im trying to answer incoming call using phone call is passed via gear s3 anyway - all the time
Anybody has same issue? Any suggestions?
Samsung Pay wasn't working initially but around a month ago I updated the gear app and up it popped. No other issues to report as yet.

So when you answering phone call using phone call is passed via phone or via watch?
Will Android Pay work on the Gear S3? I know, it sounds counter intuitive to use AP instead of SP but I've ran into situations before that no matter what I did, I couldn't get SP to work on an NFC payment terminal. Honestly, it's still so hit and miss I'd only really feel like messing with mobile payments via NFC which for me goes back to Android Pay.
Is there still those problems available with the s3 or everything is gone cause am planning to get one if everything is fixed!

I'm considering buying one of these. I would sometimes want LTE capability, but would mostly want to turn it off to preserve battery. It sounds like you've got an advanced setup. Also, you mentioned being able to disable LTE. Is the option to disable LTE available to regular (non-advanced) folks like me?
Thanks in advance!

The device has a smart network function that disables the mobile radio while the Bluetooth connection is active. Then once you don't have a Bluetooth connection for like thirty seconds it enables it
In my first attempt at setting it up, it looked as though the "bluetooth only" model SM-R760 wasn't going to support text msgs with my Pixel XL. I reset the watch and did the setup again, and still no messaging app. Later discovered it DOES support text messaging with my Pixel, but only receive and respond. You cannot originate a message on the watch. A small compromise. It was confusing at first. But glad I don't have to pay more for a carrier supported model to have SMS on my Gear S3.
I've been looking for an answer for this for a while but couldn't find anything, not even Samsung was of any help, as they said the active 2 watch doesn't work well with pixel 3, even though online o saw multiple people using it without issues.
So the thing is I've owned a gear S3 for 2 years, working great from Pixel 2 XL to 3 XL. I just bought a newer version of The watch, the active 2. The app couldn't find it, so I tried uninstalling it, and finding out I couldn't install it again. I keep getting an error message from Google play saying the app couldn't be installed. I tried downloading the apk for the app, but also got a "app not installed" message. Now I can't use the watch. I can still install the old apk, that doesn't find the watch. But can't get a later version because nothing will install. I can't even install the active 2 plugin, either through the app store or from an apk. Not sure what else to do. I really like the watch and didn't want to go back using my old one
I have the same watch, with pixel 3 xl, everything works as expected here..
@DeskPixel what rom are you using? I noticed that kind of thing happen when I was using custom roms, but everything was fine on the official rom.
I'm currently running Havoc and have not come across any issues with my Active2
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Verizon. I am using open_gapps-arm-10.0-nano-20201013. I was previously using open_gapps-arm-9.0-nano-20200422.
I was previously using lineage-16.0-20201001-nightly-hltetmo-signed. I am now using lineage-17.1-20201008-nightly-hltetmo-signed.
On 16 I was able to say "Hey Google" and "Ok Google" and Assistant would respond. On 17.1 any time I try to enable Ok Google I get "Trouble connecting. Check your connection and try again." I have tried over and over with no luck. I tried disabling the Google app and re-enabling it to see if it would force an update and fix the problem. No luck.
Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions?
