So.. I'm using CM7 at the moment, and I have changed my build.prop from LT15i to LT18i.
STILL it says 'LT15i' on PC Companion when I connect the phone to my computer.
Anyone know how to change this?
Its just a silly thing, but it annoys me quite a bit.
Did you change every occurrence of LT15i to LT18i ?
Yes. Replaced ~8 LT15i's. The marketplace and all the apps knows I'm using a LT18i, its just the PC Companion that still sees it as a LT15i.
Maybe you've to uninstall the PCC on your computer.
Then activate Install PC Companion in Settings - Sony Ericsson - Connectivity settings.
After that connect your phone with your PC and install PCC again with the upcoming prompt.

Hello, i flashed my Arc to ARc S official ICS nordic, changed build prop and one xml to display LT15i instead of LT18i, Sony PC suite sees the phone as LT15 only in MCS connection, I tryed to conenct the phone over MTP but cannot install driver over win xp, the pc suite is not showing the phone (nor checking usb debug). and not even charge over MTP conenction.
How to fix it?
Regards.
Hey,
Today i relocked my testpointed arc for firmware upgrade via pc companion. Everything worked great, relock, reboot, connected to pc companion, detected phone and upgrade, the download started and when the preperation for installing starts pc companion just quits the upgrade window and goes to welcome screen of pc companion
I got a notification from pc companion that says the sd-card is not connected, check sim-lock and display-lock. But the sd-card explore window pops up and read/write is working.
Phone status:
Stock FW 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431)
Stock kernel
Root and CWM (BackUp Avalible)
Beats mod with Walkman
Conservation.apk mod
As i know this should not affect the upgrade.
Going to try on my private pc tomorrow, but any ideas or tips?

Why dont you go ahead and reinstall PC Companion, i have seen lots of posts where this does the trick Remember to delete the program files folder
PCC and SEUS are pretty redundant since we have the flashtool, its easier just to flash a ftf.

Hi,
i get a little bit stuck with my LT15i.
The device is visible in my device manager as Sony Xperia ARC S, i see the device but i get no connection to make a backup.
Then i downloaded minimal adb & fastboot and i see my device with
adb devices
4285......... device
How can i perform a complete backup if xperia companion fails (installed last version from sony on windows 10 and windows 7).
Any idea?
I use a normal mini-usb cable, does only the original cable work?
Sony has completely shut down support for se devices, they no longer show up in Emma, sus no longer works, as well as basically anything you can think of. You pretty much have to root it and install cwm.
But whatever you do DO NOT go back to 2.3.2 or the battery fuel gauge chip will no longer work. It’s the chip that measures battery charge level. The phone will shut down as soon as you take the charge cable out. There are 2 fixes , get a chip from another Xperia arc and solder it to that one, or buy the chip on eBay program it somehow and solder it on. Or install doomkernel and the phone will be perpetually at 85% battery.
