Hello,
German User here. Today we recive via lg bridge Android 6.0.
The question is should i Update or wait ?
Because i did Not Root and the Bootloader is still locked ( i dont know wich Version i have, how can i See this ?).
Is it after the Update still possible to Root without unlocked Bootloader ?

Nope no way german user xD look at android-hilfe.de there you can find answers

It is impossible to root Android 6.0 without undlocking bootloader. You need a custom kernel to root 6.0.
Might as well update. Bootloader unlock is most likely not gonna happen.

Yes, but with Lollipop we have root. I know I won't update to MM, because I prefer to have root.

I wanna have root, but without a sure fire way for me to go back to stock, it's almost a moot point for me (I have sprint)... But ymmv

I have to say Marshmallow fixed a lot of problems for me. I'm on the SEA variant so i could not unlock my bootloader anyway my phone started one day just lagging, being unresponsive, battery life got so bad it was going down while charging. I did a factory reset and all and still nothing. I decided i would flash the MM kdz just to see if that does anything for me. Boy oh boy it fixed everything for me. It is so stable, battery life is amazing, it like discharges 3-4% all night. It just so much smoother. You probably don't have any of the problems i had so if you really do not want to unlock the bootloader then I would just wait for root with locked bootloader but I have a feeling it will take quite a while

Yeah, you have to wait. It's killing me too. However, I don't really want to be one of the first users of a custom ROM either. So I would have to bear it out for a few months. This may be the longest I have been on a stock rom.

There are still no custom ROMs or much kernels for this version and others because the bootloaders are sadly still locked. We have to wait and see if and when LG comes up with and official solution Or maybe someone else comes up with something.

Locked Bootloader
It's been such a long time since I've had a phone with an unlockable bootloader... It is ridiculous that at this time and age we have an OEM that still locks it's bootloader hard...
Last time I had to deal with this was back in the Xperia x10 days... It still gives me the chills...
At least the G3 is a great phone which doesn't make me want a custom rom THAT bad... Unlike the x10 with 1.6 android rom on it...
My phone came with Lollipop 5.0.1 but i want to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.4
How do i accomplish this? I downloaded the MD5 from samsung-updates.com but it failed in Odin. I've read elsewhere that the bootloader is the issue. Anyone know of a way around this?
If not, is there a root for build # N910PVPU2BOE1? I checked autoroot.chainfire.eu but there wasnt one listed.

OB7 is older and cannot be reverted to because of the lesser security.
Did you try the suggestions I left for you earlier in the other thread?

Can you post a screenshot of about device to see the baseband, build and software?
Can you navigate the menus to change the network settings as I described earlier? (Settings/System Update/PRL and Profile updates? Settings/More networks (roaming and mobile networks)?

Nice!
Good day all.
Simple questions..
1. Can I run cyanogenmod on my H815P?
I'm already running a flashed rooted copy of international from the low effort root thread..
2. Is it a possibility to get a cm rooted rom to flash w/o bootloader and recovery?
Thank you all in advance.

Without bootloader unlock it is not possible.
@rodrickmuir, I'm also trying to find a way to do that. Are you in South Africa too?

Hey guys just bought a second hand lg g3 appears to be the singapore model. Its a 32gb D855 and was running lollipop 5.0 when i got it. Im trying to downgrade it to android 4.4 kitkat so i can then unlock bootloader and flash TWRP so i can flash roms. 1) is that plan correct aahaha will this even work. 2) what kdz file do i need off here http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G3/Stock/D855/ theres two singapore models which one do i need? thanks a lot guys
Hi
You should have no need to downgrade to Kikat. Search XDA G3 forum for Root tool v3 and use it to root and followthe instructions on installing TWRP.
I have the Taiwan version of the D855 32Gb and that is how i did it on Lollipop 5.0.

I'm such a noob smh. Turns out I have the European version XD. Anyway reckon you can link for to this thread man finding the most current root method is so confusing ahahahah. All the ones I've seen for lollipop are only root and don't install TWRP so I'd really appreciate a link thanks

Yes i know but in xda people don't like using kingroot app.... say it has security issue.....also get kernel panic issue with kingroot but it can be just for me...
Yeah but if you install a custom. Rom after using King root you can use it and for me it was only option because of broken USB port
