Well... Since i've got this phone 6 or 5 months ago i had this little issue with the wifi wich is im connected all good with a strong signal (the router is in my room) and the wifi looses the signal.. but the wifi option in the phone keeps on, just disconnects the wifi network this happens everytime with any wi-fi, also im having some issues with whatsapp it's when i use it then close the app and get into another, the messages doesnt get into the app, i have to get in so the messages come... Also I'm interested in getting my phone root so i can update to a better ROM.

Does this happen to anyone else? Quite often if I've been using the N2 in my home, when I go out and about my phone will not be connected to mobile data (3G) and I have to toggle airplane mode for it to kick in?

Not had this myself, sounds like the cellular connection is going to sleep and not waking when your note 2 polls for a connection. Are you on a stock rom or a custom, can you post your android version number as well, will help anyone else who posts who may have more information for you.
If your rooted you could try pulling a log at the time you switch connections see if that yields any useful data.
Same here on a german device. I use manually select the Provider. Then it connect. Thank you for the tip with the airplane mode. But I search a way to kick this big. In a german forum a member says that a Fullwipe helps.

Its a stock rooted ROM version JRO03C.N7100XXALJ1
Can anyone tell me what to look for in order to create a log? (I don't expect a tutorial just someone point me in the right direction).
The problem is intermittent.

Give this a go, should allow you to create a log during the time you have the problem then you can see what android is or is not doing at the time.

Not something I have had myself but my gf has this same problem with her gs3. After having a look around our seems to be fairly common on the gs3 so any help with a fix would be great. I can only assume that it's something that will be fixed with a fw update from Samsung.

I have the same issue and so does my girlfriend on her SIII.. Can be really annoying as I might leave somewhere with wifi connectivity expecting the phone to automatically connect to 3g and I miss things like whatsapp messages with no warning :/
When I realise I do use the flight mode trick to fix it but it's annoying that it happens.

Has anyone got a solution for this problem of Google's Android 4.0?
Some specifc wifi routers/access points seems to be incompatible with ICS. Connecting turns out to be an infinite loop obtaining ip address/connecting. When android itself gets tired of trying it says: "Avoided poor internet connection".
It seems there is a solution for some devices, such as Galaxy S3. I already looked around half-internet and have not found a single working work-around.
I'm using stock ICS 4.1.B.0.587. When I was using GB wifi worked ok.
Shame on android.

Yes. That is problem.
I don't know the solution but I've heard of this one. A friend of mine switched to CM9 (this is ICS as you know) and he saw exactly what you described. The WiFi was working OK in GB but in CM9 it was entering an "IP obtained-Connecting to Network" loop. He searched in the CM forums and found out that you need to manually delete a file or something. Afterwards, it was OK. I'll ask him if he remembers what the solution was...
I don't recall whether I had a similar problem when I was using CM9 on my ARC. I used the CM9 briefly before switching to a JB ROM, maybe I haven't realized that I was experiencing a WiFi issue. Or maybe I was just lucky

That worked for me when this happened a few weeks ago... just delete the dhcp_list file in a root explorer.

Try in router settings to set some country where channel 13 is not available.
For example put Canada. It has from 1-11 channels.
Maybe this will solve your problem.
Hi quera!
I'm on LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2716) -locked- having this issue too.
Looking for a solution -with no avail at the moment-.
Good luck
@all:Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
I've CWM flashed ViperXperia_V5.0.zip after install I had bootloop, then via flashtool flashed LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2716) again root, install recovery and at the momentgoes like a charm
same problem had happened to me but rare now.
I would suggest changing the encryption to WEP and see.
I'm using Baseband 77 with quite many kernel from this forum.

Does it work fine in the same wireless network?
I'm planning flashing Viper Xperia for what you've said, but do you imagine what would be the relation? I mean, what would make Wifi work if Viper Xperia was erased.

I’ve read about the wifi issues but was wondering is anyone may have some input. My Ouya is nearly worthless at holding a wifi signal and at local file access. The strange thing is that is seems to mostly effect the download speeds. I side-loaded speed test and can get between 2 to 3.5mbps upload speed most of the time. I am stuck getting .5 to .75mbps down. I realize this is internet speeds but the local network is even slower. It is so slow I am unable to stream off a local network location. I have not had similar problems with other android devices and my 3 year old Motorola phone can get better download speeds off wifi.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

You're not alone. I get the same thing. After a factory reset, the speed pushes to ~1Mbps down, ~4Mbps up, which is still pathetic. There's threads about this problem all over the place.
Same here. Maybe a limit in some config?

Being too lazy to try at the moment and not having the time to attempt it, Has anyone with this issue seen if it goes away with CM10?
If i can get some time this weekend i can try to see if i can boot CM10 non destructively and see if the wifi issues still exist.
When i have some spare time i will skimm sources and configs see what the reason might be. Maybe even kernel related?

Personally I think it is an artifact of using a OS written for mobile devices and power saving on an always on device. I am thinking drivers and or configs are the culprit. In the small amount of looking I did i see WiFi issues are common with JB in general. I have seen a couple threads about similar problems and fixes but they have mixed results at best.
It looks like there are more recent versions of the stock drivers for the BCM4330 chip available
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/hardware/broadcom/wlan/+/master/bcmdhd/firmware/bcm4330
From looking at the bin files from the most recent Ouya OTA it looks like the version there is Version: 5.90.195.89 CRC: 2303bcd6
then again.... i may be reading that wrong, that has happened more then once.

After looking some more i think the next appropriate step would be to upgrade the drivers to the newest version to see if that helps. I cant find a reference to the version in the OTA anywhere but a few snippets form pastebin about the RasPi running jellybean.
I've got a gaggle of kids to watch tonight but may get time to play with it tomorrow. If anyone else wants to take the plunge as well please post how ti goes.
Thanks

I updated the drivers. The good news is the system still booted and worked fine. The bad news is that is did not seem to make any difference in the wifi signal strength or speed.
EDIT:
More followup. I put iwconfig on the Ouya and messed with the txpower setting. It has zero effect. it said 1496 once and it said 1 once but the wifi strength never really moved and the down and up speeds were still poor.

if u r using custom rom u should ask from its developers
but u had same problem on stock rom u should Repair Firmware by PC companion.
and if problem remains trying to flash stock rom from another regions.
after these steps IF problem remains u must take ur phone to official service center

Hi there all!
Since the update on the MIUI 10.3.1.0 PEEMIXM my GPS isn't working at all. Every GPS fix app I tried so far simply doesn't see any satellites in the sky. Google maps not working. It never finds any GPS whatsoever.
Anyone has similar issues?
Googled a bit but not with much info. I tried to reflash through OTA the last build without any different effect. Remove all updates from Google maps also did not solve the problem.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
David
PS: Device is a Mi Mix 3 Global version.
Something could've gotten borked in the vendor image. I would try a full fastboot. Just don't wipe data.
Sent from my Mi MIX 3 using Tapatalk
A full fastboot? Do I need a unlocked bootloader or something? Basically just did nothing with the Mix 3 until now, just OTA updates.
Need some more information on that full fastboot method...
I mean, I did flash other phones in the past, I just need some advice on how to start with the Mix 3.
Maybe a stupid question, but are you sure that GPS is turned on?

Yes, in the overall menu at the top (what's it called btw?) the GPS Icon is marked as blue, so "on". And in the settings it's on high precision (GPS+wifi+network).
But you're right, it behaves like it isn't on at all.
I don't have any issues with my Chinese device running Global Stable 10.3.1.0. I use Microsoft's Here maps though, which works perfectly fine.

Drove around a bit with GPS Test, it never finds anything.
Is there a easy way of rollbacking to the last version? Wanna check if the issue is still there on another version... Without voiding the guarantee.

You'd need to unlock bootloader to go back as it's got roll back protection I think
Try changing the region in settings. I faced similar issue before. It might help.
