I have just saw this new Upcoming cute 120$ smartphone which to be the First Android KitKat MTK smartphone out of the box!
I was told it going to be available on 10th May and I have already Pre-ordered it (DOOGEE DG550 also) for my review
I am exited to finally able to test KitKat on MTK6582 + most interested to know the 13MP Back& 8MP Front Camera performance and the New back cover touch button .
So until I will receive my DOOGEE DG800 for the review use this thread to discuss on this new cool smartphone.

Any updates? Get your phone? I ordered one today from doogeemobile.com. I found a root solution (I think), but not custom recovery for it. I'm only afraid of the GPS performance. Most MTK chipsets and chinese phones have abysmal GPS performance and no reviews on the web have yet talked about it.

my phone has no button lights and no LED lights.

You paid 119 USD for a smatphone like this and you want illuminated capacitive buttons also? you have to much expectations.

Usually it works for kitkat roms.
Try other programs like kingo root, or google Kitkat Root etc

Elephone G7, 5.5" IPS HD, MTK6592M Octa Core, Metalframe design

Hi I just got my hands on the Elephone G7 in white/silver from Geekbuying which is quite beautiful. The specs are not the highest (good for the price) but the design is very nice. It comes with the MTK6592M Octa-core clocked at 1.4GHz, 5.5 inch IPS HD and 1GB RAM + 8GB ROM which should be enough for most daily tasks.
First impressions
My first impressions are "wow, very nice device", good slim design and solid quality. The white/silver version reminds a little bit of an iPhone, but of course with completely different design. The frame is made of real metal, and feels cold in the beginning, but gives it a premium feel in the hand.
The display is very big, pretty thin bezels, good sharp picture with vivid colours. But because it is 5.5 inch, is may not be for everyone's taste. But for users who like a big screen it is super. What do you think about it?

The flash does work better on the G7 than on for example the P3000S.
And it scores about: 28.500 in Antutu v.5.6 - an okay score for the MT6592M I would say.

I can only give you a Geekbench 3 battery test

We must remember that this phone is really thin also, so not the biggest battery, but it is fine for one whole day.
I put my phone to the charger every night when I go to bed, so it's no problem.

I've put in an order for the black version of this phone after seeing your video. I don't play games on my phones so the specs should be fine for me. Are these phones really limited to 32GB micro sd cards? What happens if you stick a 64GB card in there?

I have just tested a Sandisk microSDXC UHS-I 64GB card, it works in the phone. The phone will the first time just ask you to format it. After that it will be formated to FAT32, and it will be found by the phone with the full space.

3D games actually run fine on a 6592M Octa core even with 1GB. So not really a problem.

The phone arrived today. It's the biggest phone I've ever owned but it's so damn thin and light! Only negative thing is a bit of light bleed noticable on the bottom when using black wallpaper but it's not a showstopper.

Thank you for opening the thread.I have now received my G7 and there are many differences with my Nexus 5.But I'm happy overall.
I'll wait a few days to root.

No word about Lollipop yet, but bug fix updates are send out. I got one (just the 08.01.2015, as mine was before that version) but not the latest yet.

Phone problem

According to the topic. if you can, please help me with this phone.... It arrived yesterday, and I cannot use it:
My problem is the next: I put my micro sim card into the phone. The phone recognize my sim card, ask for my pin code. After the successfully pin code, i am able to reach the normal android menu. But when I try to make a phone call, NOTHING happens. The calling screen is on, I can give the numbers for calling. After I initiate the call, nothing happens, just only the phone thinking, but it cannot make any calls. I realised, that the phone recognize the sim card (I see it on the sim menu), but the phone cannot join my provider's (Vodafone) network. After 1 minute, I see the 3G or G sign on the top of the phone, but when I try to make a call, nothing happens again. Very frustrating. Inside the phone menu, there is an option, that you can choose the network provider manually or automatically. I tried both two version, all the time the phone said: unable to join network. I think this can be a hardware problem. Or can it be software? I had a lot phone before, and i have never ever met such a problem. There is not any scratch or injury on the phone, it is definetively brand new. I tried with other sim cards, but the same result happened. I tried both sim slot (micro and normal slot as well), but the same problem occur. Is is possible, thet this is a software problem?

Any one know how to switch sdcrd2 to become sdcard?
I remember in the zopo 500+ was available a package to flash from the recory.

I assume you are referring to the ROM and not the recovery
To set external SD as Primary or "Default Write Disk" go to /Settings/storage/ and choose phone storage = internal_SD or SD card = External_SD
Just incase you are talking about the recovery
Go to /Backup/ tap on "Storage" and choose Micro-SD

@s7yler : to you which one is better between this x17 and the leagoo elite 1 ?

Got my cubot x17. Damn nice phone for 140 dollars, except charger coming with it is second class and I aint able to make it work in 3G/4G with my finnish provider TeleFinland/Sonera network. 2G seems working fine though. willmyphonework.com says it should work in 3G/4G too here. Ive tried to setup apn manually without results.
Anybody got similar problems? My sim is microsim in sim2 slot.

What if you manually search for network on the phone and choose the 3G network? will it connect? If yes, then it must be something else....

nanosim is still incoming. lets hope thats the case. anyways planning to put 64gb sd into second slot. other than that phone is nice piece.

Is there a known method to root the phone or to install custom recovery? i have heard that Cubot x16 twrp recovery should be fine for our phone. Is it right? Does anyone test it?

Or both SIM slots are compatible with 4G, respectively. When they work at the same time, only one of them can receive LTE service and the other GSM. You can choose in settings which one for 4G.
Anyone confirm that?

Not yet. My phone is still in travel. I asked to megthebest help because I know that he successes to build recovery for cubot x16 that is the same architecture except for the ram.

I have tried and succeed. It is much easier, than the X16 way. And the best part, you can unroot, if you want to.

The Infocus M560 has been released! It has an MTK6753 processor and costs $110! I'm personally excited about this phone because I had the Infocus M810t, and that phone was a really good phone, so I have high hopes for this one!

A lot of confusion about m808 vs m560 vs V5
I found on a Taiwanese FB page that someone has a root method for m808, but it didn't work on m560.

Watched your unboxing video of this phone nicely done. Can't wait to watch the full review sequel

Hi I watched ur reviews on YouTube before buying the device.
But I received it and I think it has malware/spyware pre installed. I don't know if this was stock rom or added by 3rd part seller.
I Really like the phone and want to keep can u help be how to resolve the issue.
The problem is an app called Pandora's box services which has permissions for everything. I can't doable or uninstall.please I hope u can help

no as it hadnt been set up when i booted it up.
I now have kingroot installed so if i factory reset will that erase/cause any problems?
using kingroot it seems they are listed as system core app modules"
i havent deleted them as i dont know what they do and it might mess up the phone. i'm trying to get titanium backup pro so i can freeze them to check before uninstalling but i keep getting error bm-cpe-13 on google.

out of interest where did everyone acutally buy their m560?
i might buy another in the future so would be handy to know a trusty seller

I bought my Infocus in GearBest. Quite fast transport (about 3 weeks), everything was ok.

Did you get gold? It seems to be more common and easier to buy. I have gold but want to buy a silver too but can't find many places that have it? I also can't justify buying a 4th phone lol

Gold, but I call the colour champagne Better look for me silver, unfortunatelly out of stock. With Android 6 phone is greather then i expected. Cheap buy really, it's a really nice smartfone.

Lol yeah chamgpagne. The Vernee Thor comes with Android 6.0
