Hi folks, i am considering buying this device and looked the whole forum but did not find any info about the battery life ? How long does your 10.1 last with different activities (Browsing, gaming, video and etc.) ?
I had a small 8'' tablet which lasted about 1.5 hours and really hate it. That's why i want to know what i can expect from this device.
Thank you in advance.
Why not change the battery with a more powerful one? Today's battery is so cheap.
The Note doesn't have a user changeable battery... Most tablets don't....
To answer your question, a lot of reviews indicate an average battery time of about 7-12 hours of medium to heavy use. I think I saw somewhere that a video loop test managed around 9-10 hours. 720 p mp4 movie

I posted this in another thread asking about battery life:
I was just in an 8-hour class where I used S-Note extensively. (From 8:30a to 4:30p.) I took around 20 pages of notes. When I wasn't actively taking notes, I was experimenting with the features of S-Note and the tablet in general since it's pretty new to me, as well as browsing the web, Facebook, etc. When the class started my battery was at 83% (I didn't plug it in until very late last night and didn't turn it off while it charged, so it wasn't fully charged when I left home this morning). As of now, over 45 minutes after the class, my battery is at 53%. My screen brightness has been around 25% all day which was plenty bright in a brightly lit room.
We did have a half-hour lunch, and a couple breaks during which the screen was off. But, not too shabby, if you ask me.
I'm finding my battery life to be pretty fantastic.
Depends on what you do with the tablet, if you play games, or use a lot of data, it can drain pretty quickly about 5-6 hours, if you do light stuff like watch videos/take notes/read, it'll probably last 10 hours
Hi,
I've been reading up on the new Note 10.1 as a possible tool for taking meeting notes, editing documents etc. I have some concerns - one is build quality, and another is battery life.
I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the youtube review below. In the course of 25 minutes, you can see the power level go from 46% to 37%, and he is not playing games, videos or even browsing. He's just showing off the S-Pen, but has a drain rate of about 20%/hour. Is that typical? If so, this is not the tablet for me, as much as I like the concept.
The youtube review is called "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition S-pen Demo". As a new member I can't link to it directly, but it should be easy to find.
Thanks.

If you watch his previous videos, he states that when he films, he sets brightness at 100%, which would explain the battery drain.

None. I use the tablet in the first days very intensive with more then 8 hours screen on and so on and the battery takes it mostly here for 2 full days.
Now, with normal usage I didn't concern about the battery. When I see that it goes below the 30%, I begin to think about charging... I am really impressed. Because of the specs I expect it much more worst
I own the note 2014 edition, and I can assure you that the battery life is definitely not that bad. If you keep it at a decent brightness and don't have 10302839292 things running in the background you're guaranteed GREAT battery life! I, at this moment am using it the reply to your comment and I took it off the charger about 10 minutes ago and it was at 83% then, and I have the brightness a bit past it's lowest setting, I have a music player going, and the wifi on obviously and it's still at 83%

Playing Candy Crush for 22 hours straight can take its toll on your battery (and your marriage). Rate this thread to express how the Samsung Galaxy Note 7's battery performs under heavy use. A higher rating indicates that it lasts a long time even when playing games, streaming video and audio, and doing other CPU-intensive activities.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Had a 22 hours usage with phone calls, WhatsApp, wechat, sms, games, audio streaming and uber orders. whole day the gps was turn on. SM-N930FD
Not sure why anyone would rate this poorly. The endurance of heavy use on this phone is phenomenal. With WiFi, Always On Display, High Accuracy GPS, 85-100% brightness, and constant heavy use, you could use this phone for easily 8-9 hours.
Not a fan of how fast this thing dies under use. Just using for maps, emails,, texts and surfing the web with low brightness, it died 20 percent in an hour.
6-7hours on Pokemon Go with brightness 70+ most of the time is good enough for me.
I m getting impressive battery timing with heavy usage, such as synching emails, facebook, whatsapp, messenger, wechat and about 40mins of fifa15 games. Listening music and watch videos with mx player also. But i turned off the always on display. And i only select cpu power saving mode in bettery setting. I m using N930FD
how did you get this good SOT on 4G
Endurance test from my side is continuous use with Gear VR. Battery delivers but the heat is too much. I used to watch videos over VR for that cinema and 360 degrees experience.

Wow, I probably can get close to 4-5 hrs when playing Pokemon Go all the way., which I feel is good enough.
6-7 hours is impressive.

There are apps in the play store to hide root which have worked for me in the past so I am not too worried about it.

I was able to watch 1pm, 4pm and evening NFL games where i am live tweeting and checking my Fantasy Football team.
Also I am a political junkie so on 9/11 Granny Cankles got loaded in a van like a sack of potatoes. So I was Checking news reports.
I by the time my phone hit 50%, I dropped the resolution to the mid point, dropped the screen brightness to 80%.
By 10:30pm when I was at hone in bed and put it on my wireless dock it was down to 18%
So I was impressed.

I confirm this . Exynos version
Wanted to get people's take on their battery. Many report good battery with sot of 12 - 16 hours. But some report poor battry performance. So my question is, what's your SOT and usage time on the mate 20X?
I see that you are activity chasing an answer on this question in many places within the forum [emoji6].
This is really a discussion that doesn't really get people anywhere. When comparing battery life, the use of the device matters. Someone who takes loads of pictures, is outside all the time so the brightness must be maxed out, streams videos and whatever is going to get a substantially different experience than someone who spends time with the brightness turned down to 50%, occasionally picks the phone up to make or take a call and spends a little bit of time surfing the web. Use matters and these comparisons really can not be made except by people who are making a comparison over time, with controlled use of the phone.
You can easily see people reporting excessively high numbers and others who are reporting excessively low numbers. The high numbers may be exaggeration for whatever reason, and the low probably represents heavy demands and over time, maybe poor battery care. A device that gets 4-5 hours of screen on time with demanding use is doing well. Someone reporting 12-15 hours is really reporting standby time.
It helps to look at these claims with some education and a grain of salt [emoji846]

Yes I must admit you sound correct. Just want to get a good general gauge about the battery before I decide on buying the device. Personally what's your average SOT and standby time? Are you a heavy, medium or light user?
I do not own this device. I think the best post I've seen is https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80634463&postcount=22
Hi everyone!
I'm relatively new to this forum... I've lurked for a lot of time, and posted something years ago.
I'm back because I need to ask a question to people who already have the S20 in their hands: is the S20's battery better than the S10e's one?
Sorry, I know it's a pretty generic question... but I don't know very much about phone tech.
I'm talking about the Exynos variant, but even comments about the Snapdragon one would be appreciated!
Thank you for your attention, guys!

I'm not very interested in the 120 refresh rate to be honest, I'd be buying it for the camera and for the battery, so I would keep it at 60 hz.
I hope at 60 the battery's better than the S10e's.

I had the S10E. The battery for me has been better trying both 60 and 120 refresh rate. Phone off the charger at 5:30 am. Use all day. 45 min maps and music. Messaging all day. Social Media. 5-6 hours screen time. It is now 8:30 and I'm still at 30%. S10E I would have had to charge on my drive home from work.

That's great news, thanks!
My S10e has a really terrible battery, expecially after the Android 10 update... I have the Exynos version.
I usually start the day with 85% battery (I charge it during the evening while watching a movie, then I spend some time on social media before going to bed), and I arrive at 8:30 pm with less than 40% of battery. The strange thing is that I almost don't use the phone at all during the day. In the morning, I don't use it because I'm at work. In the afternoon, I'm at home, and I use the pc. So I use it very little, but for some reason the battery drains by itself like there's no tomorrow. I don't imagine what would happen if I had to use it during the day for some reason. That's why I wanted to switch to the S20.
Basically, at the moment I arrive at the end of the day with almost your same battery charge, but without having used the phone.
Just resurrecting this thread as I have the same question;
For the Exynos versions, how does the battery life on the S10e running Android 12 compare with the S20 running Android 13? (both at 60Hz screen)
GSMArena battery scores for endurance are 83h (S10e) and 71h (S20) if you use them both for 1 hour of calls, 1 hour of web and 1 hour of video but these scores were with the orignal shipped firmwares.
A lot of reviews of the S20 at the time said it had poor battery life so wondering if the 4,000mAh battery on the S20 is not much better than the 3,100mAh battery on the S10e because of Exynos not being optimised.
Not interested in Snapdragon comparisons as need a dual SIM and only the Exynos version is available here with proper dual SIM support (no eSIM rubbish).
