I've been using Ghostrace with a Polar H7 and Jaybird Bluebud X headphones. While running and listening to offline Google Play music, about 30-40 minutes into my run, the songs start to get cut short and a new one starts, then, eventually, everything freezes and I have to reset by holding the button. My ghostrace logs are recovered and I am able to get all my stats, but they are broken and not very useful. Also, doing this 3-4 times during a long run is REALLY counter productive. My songs, even from the beginning of a run, seem to not finish completely before it moves on to the next one. It is rather annoying when you are expecting your song to continue and it just stops mid way and a new one starts.
I've done a factory reset and re-downloaded all my music and it still seems to be happening. A
Any suggestions?
Getting worse now. Can only run about 10-15 minutes and it starts to happen and then freezes. Factory reset watch. Cleared cache on phone and redownloaded and installed everything. Still happening.
Hi, just trying to figure out whats causing this bug, though yours sounds different in that you have to reset. I've seen other reports of it just resetting on its own.
Anyway, what version of Ghostracer do you have? You can see on the watch, on the 3rd page down. Just wanting to find out if its a new problem I've created or if its something to do with the google play update the last month.
Cheers

Don't really have a problem with Ghostracer. It seems to work fine. It appears to be a bluetooth issue (leaning this way since I started experiencing issues transferring files from my phone occasionally) or google play music issue since many times I haven't been using Ghostracer when the issue occurs.
Is it possible that sweat is the culprit? I have heard of people having problems with sweat during their runs messing up their SW3 - that's because although the SW3 is water-resistant, that applies to fresh water only, not salt-water like sweat. Try running with a sweat band under your watch and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks for your info Colinmb, I was going crazy thinking I had broken something in the latest beta. So it looks like its a bluetooth problem created in the last update of the wear app/google play update, which came out around the 7th of November I think. Might make a post on the Sony site, see if anyone cares.
Problem solved with latest Google Play Services update.

Just got the Samsung Nexus ICS from Verizon the other day. Phone is still stock. Installed Pandora.
The issue: Playing Pandora for about 30 min or even 10 min the phone shuts off immediately and then turns back on. Does not even go back to playing music on Pandora. Right back to the first screen, password screen. Now I have played google music and this has not happened. I even un installed Pandora to troubleshoot which music engine is bugging. No issues with the phone after I un installed Pandora. I waited a full day then re installed Pandora and the issue has not gone away.
Talked to another forum member who has the same set up and he has had no issues with running Pandora.
Any suggestions.

No troubles running pandora here. AOKP with apex kernel. Maybe try fix permissions.
Mine works fine, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

I am running stock 4.0.2, rooted. Pandora is running fine on my Galaxy Nexus
I am running the GSM version. It streams fine over wifi and over the Cell network.
So, it doesn't look like the problem is ICS. It may be something specific with Verizon.
Are you playing over wifi, verizon CDMA, or LTE?
This may or may not be your issue. I've had a few apps crash on me. Turns out they didn't like the force 2d hardware rendering setting. Some apps don't crash but have other issues. Like tap-a-talk won't always show images with it turned on. If you have that on , you can try turning it off.

Pandora works fine for me with the screen on if I turn the screen off it cuts out from time to time. Sucks as I use it while working out and its driving me nuts. Any chance ICS is cutting CPU availability with the screen off and it impacts pandora?

I've had Pandora, Google Music, and Rhapsody all crash my phone a number of times: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379600 . Not sure what the issue is.
I have no issues with streaming Pandora on my stock 4.0.2 Verizon GNex all day (8-10 hrs). Like someone else said, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Could it be a Bluetooth problem?
I'm having the same issue with Pandora (and Stitcher). I use them on the drive to work with Ford Sync, and after a while the phone will restart. I think it may be a bluetooth problem because upon reboot, the bluetooth connection gets stuck and requires another boot once I get to my location.
The bluetooth incompatibility is a known issue and hopefully gets resolved soon
I'm running ARHD 6.04 (4.03 ICS) on Sensation.
It can be a hard hand off from LTE to CDMA 1X/EV-DO, even with eHRPD. The data connection actually stops before being picked up by the other network. If connection is lost, Pandora will pause itself. If it's in the background, it may be killed.
Just posted up my experience in this thread in the Q/A section:

I was told to try using Fix Permissions in RM, but ran into an issue with that as well.

Solved the Rom Manger Fix Permissions with this:

Huh?
Anyway, Fix Permissions seemingly solved the problem for now... will update later.
So... One Pandora crash on 3G so far since Fix Permissions. Re-did the process and so far it has been holding again, for slacker and iheart too.
Pandora has done that on every phone I've had. That is why I don't use it anymore.

People have been seeing the GN do random reboots for awhile now, even when not using Pandora.
I've had it happen when the phone was just sitting there on the desk idle. I've had it happen during navigation with Google Maps. But it most frequently happens on Pandora.
There is a theory that it's a heat related issue. Basically that the phone is rebooting to protect itself.
There is some logic to that, as it seem to happen most frequently when I've got it plugged in charging and I'm streaming something to my phone (Pandora, Google Maps, etc).
It's apparently an issue Google is aware of, but that doesn't make it less frustrating.

I wish this were a more general reboot. The only other crash is get is with occasional flash videos, when trying to change the quality (youtube).
Otherwise, I have had NO OTHER RANDOM REBOOTS aside from Pandora/Slacker/iHeartRadio. Happening very frequently again. Is it just straight incompatibility? These apps are unusable and this is a heavy portion of what I use my phone for.
If it were heat, wouldn't all the games that leave my phone at hand-warmer status crash it? This does not happen for me. I explained very clearly when this issue was arising.
So I use google music player instead of the native s3 music player from samsung because I have all my music uploaded to the google cloud. I just got the s3 a month ago and continually have this issue. I'm listening to music then all of a sudden it stops, it looks like its still playing but can't hear anything and then when I try and back out of it its frozen.
Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I think its a problem with touchwiz, so far have not had any issues with toasted .marshmallows. a solution I found is to go to application manager and clear data under Google play. Its not efficient and you have to wait a few minutes for it to sync again.

Are you rooted? I had that same issue on jellybean stock w/ root. Better Battery Stats showed I kept getting a LPAplayer wakelock and when I changed the build.prop following this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25475691&postcount=4732) it seemed to help. Dunno what the cause is or why that would fix it, but try it out if you have root.
thank you for all the responses.
So I am not rooted, just on the out of the box sg3 system.
I will try some of the suggestions..disappointed that there is the issue. And it does the same thing whether streaming from the cloud or the songs I have pined for offline listening which sits on the cache. :crying:
I'm having the exact same issue. I'm on stock JB, not rooted. It'll play a song or two then just freeze. I have to back completely out and try again and get the same results. Frustrating, because I don't store any music at all on my device.

Shouldn't be a touchwiz issue, as I have the same problem even though I'm running Nova Prime. I just replaced the google player widget with the samsung one and have been happy ever since. I don't really miss the cloud sync cause my library rarely changes much.
I am having the same issue. I thought it might be the romantic I was running, but now it has happened on two different roms. I wonder if it is a Jellybean issue?

I'm still having this issue. I don't have music pinned on my device, it's all in the cloud. Never, ever had this issue on my Vibrant. I actually went to Google's help today and the rep who called said they know it's happening with this phone. He advised me to uninstall the updates and then reinstall from the market. I did that, and it actually feels worse. Now it's "frozen" on one song and won't let me select another. The only buttons I have available are back, pause and forward, but it isn't playing anything.
Interestingly, I just uninstalled updates again, taking my Play Music app back to v4.3.606.400990 and it seems to be working fine. I've even had music interrupted a few times by phone calls and it picks up again and plays with no help from me.
Used to happen to me as well on stock, but since rooted and now running 4.2.1 problem has disappeared
same problem with vzw gs3
I have this same problem with my phone. The following steps detail what reproduces the issue for me.
Play Music starts playing, gets through about two songs, then stops.
When waking the phone Play Music is frozen. The pause, previous and next track buttons, but nothing on the screen responds to touch.
Hold down home button and use the built in task manager to end Play Music, accepting the warning.
Restart Play Music and continue playing. It will play normally after that.
However, from then on the LPAPlayer will keep the phone from sleeping.
If I leave it alone, it will show wakelocks into the 10-15 hour range.
A reboot of the phone will fix the wakelock, until I use Play Music again.
I am on stock rooted JB for VZW (VRBLK3). I don't think it's ROM or even phone specific though.Iit seems to affect a wide spectrum of ROMs and a few different phones on different carriers.
I am currently trying out the recommendation on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34586729&postcount=10
I am about six songs in now, will report back if it fails.

The new Google Play Music update has caused some real headache for me and, as I'm finding, a number of other LG Optimus G owners. I get a couple minutes into a song and then everything stops. Error message: "Couldn't play the stream you requested."
As an experiment, I played Mackelmore's "Thrift Shop" 14x this morning (I am so sick of that song now) and the track stops within 2-3 seconds of the 2:35 mark every single time. This is not a problem on my Nexus 7. This is not a problem on my PC. This is only a problem on my phone.
3G, 4G, Wifi. same result, my songs stop playing mid-way through.
Riding in my car or sitting at my desk or in my living room, same result, my songs stop playing mid-way through.
My tracks or All Access tracks, same result, my songs stop playing mid-way through.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and, if so, how have you fixed it.
Thanks.
Update
Just got a reply from Support. They obviously did not read my email.
Hello Ryan,
Thanks for contacting our support team.
Playback issues can occur if your internet connection was lost or the speed of your connection changed while streaming. In addition, it is possible that there is an issue with the music file that you originally downloaded.
If the problem occurs while streaming music, please try playing the original file you added locally to determine if this is related to your internet connection. The issue is most likely related to your internet connection if the problem doesn't occur when playing the original file.
Please let me know if you have any other Google Play questions that I can further assist with.
Best Regards,
Samantha
I'm having this problem on the AT&T version of this phone. The problem appears to go deeper than mere connectivity: I'll get the error even with music that I have "pinned" (downloaded to my phone for offline listening). And I too have seen multiple LGOG users with this issue -- and no one else.
I think I'll have to try loading a custom ROM when I get home. I really hope the problem isn't the hardware itself, but I'm not optimistic.

Lovely. There's also a thread over at productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/mobile/A01ByhnMKOQ that might be helpful. Thanks.
I haven't been using the app too much (maybe about 3 hours worth of listening, both All Access and my tracks, since yesterday) but I haven't encountered any issues. I am rooted and running EOS, if that matters.
ATT version here
if i have a song playing from all acess, not locally orginated, it will stop playing at about 2:30 min - 3:00 min. If i start the song over and try to skiip to the part it stopped on, it ill play for about 4 seconds and then same error again.
Any fix for this? is it just too new?

I don't think this is a hardware issue. I hope as more updates are released this is fixed but idk how soon that it is.

Hi all,
I've read threads about this for different phones, but didn't see any for this one (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
But, my phone- stock T-Mobile S3- will randomly cut out and stop playing my music when I'm using Google Music.
I tried one of the solutions in a thread, where they advised to turn the volume down... that didn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling... updating Google Music, etc. That didn't work either. The problem still occurs. I downloaded an album from Google Music onto my internal storage and it still skips even on that, so to me that tells me it's not a streaming or Internet issue.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I'd prefer to not have to root, but I'm open to the idea somewhere down the line.
Regards,
-Proxin

Hello all.
This question isn't Pixel-specific (as far as I know) but I wanted to ask it here.
For the last week or so, my Pixel XL will suddenly and loudly play an the audio from what I assume is an advertisement video. If I unlock the phone while it's playing, the audio stops and there's nothing to see (other it it seemingly switching from landscape back to portrait).
I tried to delete all apps I've installed in the last 2 weeks, but it still happens.
Any suggestions on how I can solve this issue?

Try running some of the adware and virus scanners. There are some good ones on the play store now. I would suggest you also look at what services are running. Sounds like it is infected.
I tried running two of the top virus and malware scanners, and nothing was found.
Regarding running services, I don't see anything unusual in the list (from Developer options). But then again, I'm not sure what I'm looking for.
Try killing the processes until the audio stops. That should help find out the cause.
Best way to fix would be to do a factory reset.
Sounds like your best bet is a factory reset.
I think it's a Facebook issue. I have same issue only after playing video thru Facebook app.
