ViperOne M9 App Grid Size? - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was excited to see ViperOne on the M9, since I've used it on my M7 for basically the last two years.
After having trouble with Revolution, I installed ViperOne and my problems went away. But one thing that is bothering me about it is the weirdly limited grid size. Even on my M7 with ViperOne I could set the grid to 5x6, but on my M9 I'm limited to 5x4 at max, but the default was 5x6 before root.
It might sound like a silly thing to be weird about, but the 5x4 grid size takes away the sleek look of the OS in my opinion, and also disrubts my need for a certain order.
Is there an option I'm missing to change the grid size that isn't in the app list? Or is there an app I can download that will allow me to adjust grid sizes?

Download textdroider. Change the dpi to 400. Sorted.
The app has no footprint on the phone, if you want to you can uninstall the app after modification

That changed the grid size of the home screen but not the app selection.

Really? It actually changes everything as you're altering the dpi output of the phone . So it should affect everything. Try a different dpi. Find the sweet spot. For me 400 is perfect and as far as I can remember it does change the app drawer, have you tried leedroid. That's my go to sense rom.

Yeah it just made everything super tiny but the apps remained the same grid, just more spread out. :/ I went all the way down to 380. Everything is too tiny now.
I don't want to reflaah right now either because I don't want to have to set everything up again, so I'm probably stuck with the app grid unless they do an update for it.
Or I decide I'm ready to redo everything again.

Maybe I'm wrong and it wasn't an option on stock M9? I thought it was. But I do know ViperOne had 5x6 on M7. So it is weird that it would be different on M9.

[Q] DPI DHD

Ey!!
Maybe a silly question, but does somebody know how to change dpi on DHD?
I mean, my screen can handle 5 ''icons horizontally'' ,
how can I change the dpi to get for example 10 ''icons horizontally''.
Thanks in advance.
There's a thread here abouts for changing the DPI (although might only be if you have Cyanogen ROM) but the search I'm sure you'll do will bring it up.
Home Replacement apps like LauncherPro or ADWLauncher allow you to set number of icons but can be a bit hit or miss.
Thanks for your reply,
i got launcher pro, i made it 5icons horizontally en 4icons vertically.
if you make it more, the icons gets ugly, they dont fit normal, and some problems...
what it does, it makes the icons smaller but doesnt change the screens dpi i think.
i got stock rom.
The ugly icon issue is why I didn't bother changing it.
With a stock ROM, unless it's rooted I doubt you'll be able to change the DPI. I do recall someone mention an App but I memory serving it was for the Galaxy and tests failed on the DHD.

Both methods require root access (A rooted ROM).
true story, which makes mines NOT ROOTED xD
so i have to root it first..? no other solutions?
No you can't change your dpi without root.

How to change HDPI mClock themes to WVGA for our phones?????????

Im assuming that we would just have to change the size of the images and then just change the font sizes to fit the images. But has anyone played with the HDPI themes to get them to work on our phones and know the perfect size to make them?
They have some pretty good looking clocks but the images are just too big for our phones resolution and it cuts off corners.
Edit: Well I guess if I go with 4x2 widget it works out right. I was trying 3x2 and 2x2 before. I would still like to be able to choose from all different size widgets and not be locked in to 4x2 but I guess it will do for now, until someone comes through with the settings to make them compatible at our resolution.

Not really sure what it is that you're ultimately looking to do, but if you have a 3x2 widget already, you can resize it to 4x2 using either TW launcher and Launcher Pro, as well as others out there...
I guess that coulda been a little confusing. Basically the only way to see the whole clock is to make the widget 4 wide. The only problem with that is that it looks a little small. Like it only takes half the space that it should as a 4x2.
I'm moreso just trying to bring the clock to the max size it can be at each widget size. I'm at my girls for the night so maybe when I get home 2morrow ill try to make the widget show a little bigger to make myself happy. Just thought I'd ask incase anyone else found the mClock widgets to be sorta small

Not sure about this. I had the same issues with font on stock E4GT. But if you happen to be using GO Launcher, you can go into menu>Preferences>Advanced Settings>Scan font>Font
This will let you choose from any font currently on your phone, whether one you uploaded or one associated with an app. Quick, easy and it sticks. Unfortunately this only works with GO so if you don't like GO or want to stick with stock you could also try Font Changer or Metamorph, both work on stock TW or any 3rd party launcher.
I've never been able to get it to stick.
If you happen to me rooted you can also change the dpi for your phone with an app:
LCD Resolution
or
ROM Toolbox
Bewarned though, TW launcher doesn't look quite right and you will likely want a custom launcher. But it will do the trick.
Just_s I have GO launchee and my font isn't the problem. Its the size of the font :-( and for the other guy I have tried the density changer and like my keyboard to stay big and I have to go back to 240dpi to install almost anyapp which is not worth running the density changer. So any way to keep my font smaller ? Like u can do usinf spare parts but make it stick and stop reverting

Change just the lock screen DPI?

I've been running the awesome SkyDragon ROM/kernel with texdroider running the DPI at 560 and it's awesome. Today I got the circle case with wireless charging back and because of the different DPI the clock doesn't line up. I just changed back to stock DPI and the clock is fine but I realized just how much I enjoyed the rest of the phone at 570. I downloaded App Settings to try but I can't find the name of the lockscreen apk. Anyone know or have a better solution? Thanks.

So just in case anyone is wondering or has the same problem, it seems the easiest option is to set SystemUI back to 640 with App Settings. That fixes the lockscreen circle back to the proper position. It affects the status bar and nav bar as well, but it still keeps everything else the same.
As you can see in the screenshot here the status bar icons are proportionally a little too big, but not horrible. I shrank the nav bar back down with G3 Tweaksbox.
RESOLVED
Necroposting for the purpose of this being the first result in Google for G3 Lockscreen DPI.
Figured it out.
Undo any and all previous DPI tweaks.
Use Texdroider DPI, set to 530 reboot.
Install xposed AppSettings, enable it. Reboot.
In AppSettings look for an entry called key com.android.keyguard. Enable it and set DPI to 640 (this is stock). Under that select/check Apply res to widgets.
Save (Maybe Reboot also).
I am going to revive this thread and thread jack.
Does anyone know how to change the DPI for the lockscreen in Lollipop? My post above only works for KitKat, the package no longer exists in LP

I believe since everybody is silent about this issue it is best to set the phone lock to none and revert to a 3rd party lockscreen at least that is what I did.

Grid size change

Hello,
I'm thinking of getting the G3 but the only thing I really dislike about the SW is the app drawer's grid size, which has 5 columns. So many icons on one page feel like chaos to me.
I know I can get a different launcher and set up everything I want, but I really want to buy the phone for what it is, not for the time I might spend on customizing everything until it looks like everything but the G3.
I tried out a displayed model for a moment, but didn't come across this setting.
Is there a way I can change the grid size on the G3 to at least 4 columns?
You can set it up w/ either 4 columns and large icons, or 5 columns and small icons.
Thank you for the quick response!
That's splendid! You made my day
