I know I can change the font to a smaller font but the setting just don't seem to stick. How do I make it endure a reboot and stay? Thanks guys!

Not sure about this. I had the same issues with font on stock E4GT. But if you happen to be using GO Launcher, you can go into menu>Preferences>Advanced Settings>Scan font>Font
This will let you choose from any font currently on your phone, whether one you uploaded or one associated with an app. Quick, easy and it sticks. Unfortunately this only works with GO so if you don't like GO or want to stick with stock you could also try Font Changer or Metamorph, both work on stock TW or any 3rd party launcher.
I've never been able to get it to stick.
If you happen to me rooted you can also change the dpi for your phone with an app:
LCD Resolution
or
ROM Toolbox
Bewarned though, TW launcher doesn't look quite right and you will likely want a custom launcher. But it will do the trick.
Just_s I have GO launchee and my font isn't the problem. Its the size of the font :-( and for the other guy I have tried the density changer and like my keyboard to stay big and I have to go back to 240dpi to install almost anyapp which is not worth running the density changer. So any way to keep my font smaller ? Like u can do usinf spare parts but make it stick and stop reverting

Ey!!
Maybe a silly question, but does somebody know how to change dpi on DHD?
I mean, my screen can handle 5 ''icons horizontally'' ,
how can I change the dpi to get for example 10 ''icons horizontally''.
Thanks in advance.
There's a thread here abouts for changing the DPI (although might only be if you have Cyanogen ROM) but the search I'm sure you'll do will bring it up.
Home Replacement apps like LauncherPro or ADWLauncher allow you to set number of icons but can be a bit hit or miss.
Thanks for your reply,
i got launcher pro, i made it 5icons horizontally en 4icons vertically.
if you make it more, the icons gets ugly, they dont fit normal, and some problems...
what it does, it makes the icons smaller but doesnt change the screens dpi i think.
i got stock rom.
The ugly icon issue is why I didn't bother changing it.
With a stock ROM, unless it's rooted I doubt you'll be able to change the DPI. I do recall someone mention an App but I memory serving it was for the Galaxy and tests failed on the DHD.

Both methods require root access (A rooted ROM).
true story, which makes mines NOT ROOTED xD
so i have to root it first..? no other solutions?
No you can't change your dpi without root.

Please move if I posted in wrong section. Was unsure where to request some help.
Background: rooted since feb, have had my share of experience with flashing, odin and rerooting, also some minor bricks needing a battery pull. Im also deaf, and I use my phone for everything but music and calls. Still need phone to use with hamilton app if emergency. Main big one, my vision isnt perfect.
I plan to start from scratch. Odic back to stock, reroot, flash it ei22. I have my eyes set for the mostlystock rom by xbtx unless just flashing themes and mods would work better for what im after? Keep reading to find out what. The less clutter the better. And ill delete whatever I may not need. Like the voodoo sound apk or voice record and dialer. I will use titanium backup to restore my apps.
I can just delete anything related to sound or voice controls but im having a hard time when it comes to font size and resolution. I have font an app to change resolution size along with other apps to change just font size. Yeah ok they work but not exactly clearly. When I tried it with roms it seems like the rom is set to a spacific size so when I try to enlarge font or resolution, certain menues dont configure correctly. The text would be half hiding under the icon above it for that menu or id personaly love to be able to make the app drawer 3x4 so the names of the apps or folders are on one line and not cut in half and shown on two lines.
It also helps when when all the menus are black with white text, same for the signal bar. White bars not blue. Blue is hard to see. I think I seen mods for this but if anyone can revamend the rom and maybe create a theme/mod I can flash to correct these problems. Please let me know.
Im sure im not the only person who has bad eyes. I just wish I could enlarge things or have a better app or menu to really customize font size. I dont care for fancy font. I prefer arial bold if I had a choice lol or the stock font just bold. Anyone up to help me out? Thanks so much!
Ok
So if i read that correctly "
You want a mod or something to make something bigger?
What exactly do u want to make bigger?
yeah the font. there are apps out there that do this but the main problem comes with the app drawer labels or when in actual apps that has a menu that comes up from the bottom of screen.
spare parts doesnt save the enlarged app size. is it possible to make a type of menu baked into a theme that changes font size? and a 3x4 app drawer option?
ok as i think about this. basically its a theme and has these spacific things baked into it.
--3x4, 3x5 app drawer option
--change font size 12-20pt (i use 16-18 but know others who would prefer bigger or if my eyes get blurry id like the option)
--black background white text for ALL menus
--circle battery mod (green is easier to see then the blue)
--keep signal strength bars white
--the brighter green ive seen used can be the secondary color for the other various things, like wifi, 4g, or bluetooth is activated. or as something downloads. whatever
i use golauncher bc i like the folder setup. so no need to add a launcher. is this possible? anything else i may need to make more clear or change?
i appreciate any help! i wish i knew how to do what you devs and themers do! im a graphic designer so thats as close as i get to creating things
Bigger density? That would appear to make everything bigger.

Changing denstiy will make everything bigger but I do not know how to do this... I am sure there is a thread somewhere on here about doing that just search how to increase density and I'm sure you will find something

An app from the market called lcd resolution does this. But when u change the density, it makes EVERYTHING huge and then ur screen gets very smushed and u can't view as much at one time. I use this but only increase the density a tad. Then I use another app for font. Looking around ill just find the black menu theme I'm after. I've seen it somewhere. I flashed the cleangb rom and so far its got what I was after.
Is it possible to make a 3x4 and 3x5 app drawer tweak? Id like 3 colums to beable to read the app/folder title on one line. Thanks for ur guys feedback!

Which font to you want to make larger?
If the font was white wouldn't that work. I think if you make the font larger it would not work in some of the menus. If you still want this done p.m. me.
i am new user of android i bought Galaxy s2 about three weeks ago so transform form Nokia so dont know much i have ginger bread is there anyway to change or simple reduce the font size to very low overall i like the small font.but cant figure out how ..couple of problem more like si there any way to change teh theam i see in google play but cant figure out how to apply them same goes for laucher please help,
Go to System Settings >> Display. There wou will find the option to change your font type and font size.
nope there is only style option three of them not a size option
Download fronts packs from play store and apply any small front tht sud do the work for uh...
Or if you are rooted... Then use rom tool box... From play store it has lots of fronts small big as uh want...
Cheers

Also you can install "font changer" and change any font you want. instead of installing a complete font pack, it can change fonts seperately. and it lets you use your normal ttf fonts from your computer.
I also want to change font size not font style. Tried big font but always restart my foreground app when turning my phone.

To use themes you'll need to install a 3rd party launcher, such as go launcher, adw, or nova, etc. Thee are many lunchers to choose from and they give you much more customizability over stock/default launcher.

try SpareParts app see if it works on ics, or flash CM9 rom samsung removed the "font size" feature from ics
If your phone is rooted, you can try to change the DPI with an app like DPI Changer.
(DPI Custom : 212 is great)
Hey all, at what DPI does tablet mode kick in? For the Note 1 it was 213.
have you tried changing your dpi to find out?
Yup I tried 213 messing around with a few different numbers but i'd like to get it to be not small text, barely enough to kick in navigation bar

If you get it into tablet mode it will crash you system ui and you'll have to flash your backup. Touchwiz isn't made for tablet mode only cm and aokp. But if I'm wrong then post pics of your success and share your method. It should be 177 DPI
Apex has a phone/tablet ui mode if anyone is interested.
Apex settings > Homescreen > UI options

Its more than just the launcher its the whole system ui apk that need to be modified to handle tablet mode. I'm very familiar with this from experience! Unless something changed with touchwiz system ui.

You sir are right that system ui needs to be modified to handle it, i just wanted to be sure.
Good to know what the DPI is too for knowledge, but I tried 177 and system ui did not crash. I tried 160 and system ui does crash.
I am assuming that the value is between 160-177.

Probably 165 its a natural value for tablet mode
Speaking of Apex, anyone know why the phone draws an ugly black border around widgets and such during transitions? The Note 1 didnt do this!
So has anyone found a good way to enable tablet mode? Running Jedi 17 and been searching for an Xposed Module or something that would work...
Setting SystemUI.apk to 160 dpi w/ 800*1280 res in per-app dpi settings just makes it tiny
Found an Xposed module through this awesome xposed index thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541
Direct link to Tablet UI Xposed module http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/Android/Xposed/
BUT! SystemUI force closes on me after trying to set norm 320dpi,160dpi, 160 for SystemUI only, then tried 213, 240 etc...also tried 800*1280 res
Any suggestions?
So I was on Slim Bean AOSP ROM while I wated for the latest version of JB Domination theme. One thing I loved about that ROM was that the DPI was set to 256 by default and it was awesome.
I mean I got back to stock and it was at 320... like comeon its soooo huge.
So I would suggest you guys to try it out. Set the lcd density to 256 in build.prop and then used xposed framework to re-set samsung stock apps to 320 DPI. (Cam, Contacts and Calculator). You might need to freeze the Samsung Keyboard in Titanium Backup before you change DPI as it'll keep crashing.
Don't ask me how to do this, just a tip for those who know how to get around it.
I think this thread isn't so useful. Why? Cause every person has different methods of making their phone comfortable. Whether they like default view or the smaller fonts for those who have sharp eyes.
