Android Oreo 8.0 official for this device?

So yes, I see on TV these a news about Android Oreo that just released this month. Seems interesting, but I had a question:
Is there an official Android Oreo for this device?
Thanks for the advance. Sorry for my bad English.
nope. The last release they did was the final version, maybe some security patches but thats it unfortunantly.
We probably will be getting custom 8.0 roms though

Saw on the Nextbit forum on Reddit that Android O is being discussed so hopes up that they'll decide to update.

oh that would be nice. I read somewhere that they would only do security patches and that 7.1 was the last major update they would do. I hope what i read wasn't true because it would be amazing to have an official 8.0 build

Here is the thread where a Nextbit rep said it's being discussed. It would indeed be great to have an official 8.0 build.

OK, thanks. I need to turn on my VPN first because in Indonesia Reddit is blocked.
Wish I found out about this sooner. I already ported my my device to Lineage OS 14.1 build, and now I await the Lineage OS 15 build with all its new optimizations and features built from Android Oreo.

Hardware support has ended, but software support goes on until February 2018. I think O will be the last manufacturer update we see.

I honestly doubt they will, but I'd love to be proven wrong! Treble will enable such great things for our device

Applying latest security patches to Android ROM (RR in my case)

So I want to run Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 on my One M8 which is the final version build by bdogg718 (RR M8 maintainer).
However, the ROM version is from September 26th, 2017 so it has the security patch of that month.
Is there a way I can apply the security patch of November 6th, 2017 to this ROM? I don't have experience in building ROMs myself.
Thanks in advance.
I don't think so. The rom has to be built with those patches.
Use the build by jasio2k - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XD69DwhcY65SIbGmQVig-AU6yTcL69_c/view?usp=drivesdk It has the lastest security patch

You got that from settings > about? That's from the ROM base. You could update firmware to get any that are provided for that, but otherwise you'll have to wait for the developer to update the ROM with a new base.
Truthfully though, it's nothing to worry about. Concern with new possible exploits are mostly overblown. They are discovered by security companies and more times than not, hackers haven't discovered it themselves yet.
Got it, thanks bro!

When owning a midrange "motonovo" device, being optimistic and having hope is the best strong suit for waiting on updates ?

I'm hoping feb 9th. My birthday lol. I've tried every ROM out there and they're all excellent, but I just can't deal with the camera. I need shutter speed and iso adjustments so pictures of things like the moon look like what we see rather than a random white dot. I haven't been able to find any ROM that does it better than a stock variant with Moto camera in professional mode, so I'm stuck on Nougat until Lenovotorola gets off their butts and gives us Oreo.
Just recieved today November patch, lol, XT1680 retar channel. Just Wondering why I was at compilation NPNS25.137-15-11 and now is NPN25.137-97.

I guess they want all phones to be on same build when they push out Oreo and onwards.

It looks like oreo is closer.. end of january or start of february probably.. unless lenovo screw up again
-------------
This security patch changelog was up since november, so there is no reason for us not to get oreo, i mean it is probably outdated.
Can anyone with XT1686 (Indian variant) post a screenshot of the build number of the latest January update?

I don't think the january patch will be released alone, it will come along with oreo mid-feb

You might be right
Does anyone know why my g5 plus hasn't been updated in so long,
It says software channel retgb and I'm still on 1st august security patch, honestly this is making me want to go back to iPhone, that's getting on for 5 months out of date for basic security.
retgb here also, security is only an issue if you use phone unwisely, in locations wifi you cannot trust, apps installed from unknown sources or dodgy websites, if not doing any of the above you should be fine.
There is only so much security you can build into any OS, the rest is down to you.

LMG710EMW HKG version 10g update

Can anyone tell me what is the security patch version in the 10g update of HKG or MIA variants
Android security patch level: April 1, 2019
V10g-HKG-XX
This is something I don't understand about the LG patching cycle: some firmwares remain *forever* in an old release letter (like v10a), but are regularly updated with security patches... Does that mean they don't get any newer features at all, just the patches? It doesn't make much sense for me: since you are patching stuff, why not update the rest?

Nope. Series is just region specific and mostly has nothing to do with features. Though there are certain region specific features like lg pay (korean exclusive), most of the features are standard

But, for instance, for my region/country, we have branded (carrier) firmwares which are *always* at v10a, even though they get security updates, and unbranded firmwares which have the letter incremented with each release (currently at v10e).
Meanwhile, there is a firmware for India already in v10t (unbranded). This weird pattern also happens for other countries. It doesn't make sense and doesn't appear to be region-specific.
