So yes, I see on TV these a news about Android Oreo that just released this month. Seems interesting, but I had a question:
Is there an official Android Oreo for this device?
Thanks for the advance. Sorry for my bad English.
nope. The last release they did was the final version, maybe some security patches but thats it unfortunantly.
We probably will be getting custom 8.0 roms though

Saw on the Nextbit forum on Reddit that Android O is being discussed so hopes up that they'll decide to update.

oh that would be nice. I read somewhere that they would only do security patches and that 7.1 was the last major update they would do. I hope what i read wasn't true because it would be amazing to have an official 8.0 build

Here is the thread where a Nextbit rep said it's being discussed. It would indeed be great to have an official 8.0 build.

OK, thanks. I need to turn on my VPN first because in Indonesia Reddit is blocked.
Wish I found out about this sooner. I already ported my my device to Lineage OS 14.1 build, and now I await the Lineage OS 15 build with all its new optimizations and features built from Android Oreo.

Hardware support has ended, but software support goes on until February 2018. I think O will be the last manufacturer update we see.

Will they Treblized it on Oreo updates..?
As it'd be the most awesome thing ever happened if this phone get Project Treble enabled...

I honestly doubt they will, but I'd love to be proven wrong! Treble will enable such great things for our device

Is anyone working on an Android O ROM for the LG G4? - preferably supporting H811
the last thing you lost is the hope
Maybe sometime oreo packages will include a G4. But the other way around might take a little bit more time.
I think we will have a useable build of custom oreo before we receive the official stock nougat.
I see LinageOS ver 15 images popping up for other phones, so hoping we'll see something soon.
I doubt LG would make an official Oreo ROM for it, but it looks like Lineage OS 15 (Android O) is being worked on for bootloader unlocked devices (H815, H811).
Of course Android O with Project Treble is a massive change, so it could take time.
I am also waiting for Oreo. ?

When Oreo comes I will grab it as well. [emoji4]
Mods, please close this thread. It has NOTHING constructive to offer. It is just a circlejerk of people crying for something that will never oficially happen.
Well not specifically O but I just don't understand why they released V30 with 7.1.2 out of the box and couldn't do the same for us, instead 7.0 only. Makes no sense as it's not even out yet and V30 has been in development for months...

wow, another insightful commend bringing SO much information to this /thread...
1. Oreo is only just out
2. It will never, ever come in any official capacity from LG
3. There may or may not be a Lineage build for it, we'll have to wait and see.
To everyone still here, @kessaras has done an amazing job with AOSCP oreo on the G4. So search it, it supports H815 and H811

Ok look. Here is the deal. The Razer Phone has the a/b partition, and it has the separate vendor partition. Razer states that Q1 2018 will release the update to Oreo 8.1 with official Project Treble support. Since all that is happening so soon, nobody is going to start development on this phone until we get that. Just be patient.
i perfectlly understand ... i will wait and hope for nitrogen os
this phone is the best smoothest phone
Going to be a long wait

I don't think they have definitely said it would have Treble support. I mean, the partitions are there already for it, so it would make sense, but we will wait and see.

If we do get Treble? Nah. It'll be just a couple of minutes flashing a generic image to your device, really.
Though, Razer promised the update by the end of Q1, and that's happening in 9 days, sooo...

I've seen some other devices (not with a similar processor, that is) getting unofficial Treble support. If Razer doesn't do it, with the proper kernel sources we can still try, I guess.

True. Camera/video haunts most of the devices using custom ROMs. But using footej helps. So not much of an issue. Once you start using Oreo, forget stock you will never come back to 7.1 even!
Indeed, Oreo rom works great with FP gestures even though its unofficial. Some rumors is that the 15.1 LOS Oreo rom is going official so development is not dead. Go to some stable oreo roms instead of stock and wait and see if P roms will be available for P2 (it most certainly wont)

I would just add to your comment that Android P will be officially released at the earliest in August.
It is not at all certain that someone will develop a custom Rom based on Android P for our Lenovo P2.
If "Yes" I think You don't expect to have it available before the end of this year.
So, I finally changed to Oreo, since FP gestures are also available. XenonHD is awesome.
Video recording bug is solved through adding
media.camera.ts.monotonic=0
TO build.prop file.
It is sometimes a bit buggy when using whatsapp built-in videocamera app but normal camera apps work just fine. Snap Camera is my favorite by the way.

Is is stable on mine aex the best Oreo Rom I've ever seen only problem is fp gestures who I don't care about I don't use them
Hey guys !! First of all taking so early about Android P is useless cause Google has released only 2nd beta. Now there will be 3rd beta and then the final update with source codes. Without source codes nobody is able to build a custom rom. Google releases the codes only with the final update. Secondly shubam the well known dev said that they have put there hard earned money in P2 so as long as there P2 is good and running we will get updates. We can even expect Android Q.:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Now Motorola stock 8.1 rom is released, so i want to know when we will be having stable oreo roms with cam and no slow charging issues???

I don't think any development is going on, as the official Oreo is came with stable version and pie is the latest Android version. So pie is the development, Oreo should be no more.

no developer is developing oreo nor will be and how to blame them if you just need to fix the camera (for now) in pie, it is strange to know that only 6 people in total have access to those builds (including me) :fingers-crossed:

I have a doubt about Custom ROMs, I have a smartphone moto g40 fusion and right now I think updates are very rare in this smartphone so that's why i am thinking about installing custom rom like LineageOS or EvolutionX in moto g40. But I found last info about custom ROM was posted in Moto g40/60 forum was on May 2022 and it too much in past so will I get updates even if I install it right now. And if possible plz explain how update work in custom rom like how devs update them, like do they update only like LineageOS or specifically moto g40/60 LineageOS every time. thanx in advance .

Custom roms are updated at the discretion of the Dev.
They can stop updating at any time, or continue working on it for years.

Then will I have to flash my phone after every update release by Dev working on this phone.. is there any easy way to get update even after dev stop working on this Custom ROM like can I update it?, sorry for asking like this is going to be an easy task but I am just curious that may be it will be just building files from source code after copying updates from google to LineageOS for my phone. Thanx for clearing my doubts @ethical_haquer and @sd_shadow .

Yes, you would have to manually flash updates, and it requires quite a bit of expertise to build your own updates. The more popular a build is, the more likely it is that it will continue to be maintained.

Would love to help, but I haven't gotten into building my own ROMs yet; I'm a Linux enthusiast, and just started running Lineage OS on my A52 4G and Raspberry Pi. You could try contacting @KonstaT though, he is maintaining a bunch of Lineage OS builds and might be able to help you, or at least point you in the right direction.
