I updated the MCU to KLD v.2.78 and now my radio isn't working at all. I tried setting everything in factory to USA news band but nothing worked. Is there something up with the 2.78 KLD MCU? Everything else seems to work ok but the radio.
OK update here. I went back down to the previous 2.64 MCU for this unit and the radio came back. Odd.
Common problem. Latest does not mean best. Best is the one that works fully

Have you tried changing the radio chip settings? If you select one that is not yours, the radio will not receive any signal.
Patient: Dr., it hurts when I do this...
Dr.: Don't do that.
A load of people have reported that 2.78 kills the radio. Seems to be a common problem on the KLD units

well i lost my radio on 2.78 KLD and never got it back. tried 2 older versions and still no radio. Not sure why
check in factory settings if there is the correct chip selected
I had the same with KLD and 2.78
Downgrade to 2.64 helped.

For KLD- put 2.30 on and the radio will work again. A few people have had this issue - for some reason, after putting 2.78 on, only putting2.30 on restores the radio.
Also - afterflashing2.30 - just try all the radio chipset options. There are only 5 I think

Trial and error
Check the radio model under the factory settings
Check the radio model under Settings/Factory Settings <126>/Application. I changed the radio to TEF6686 for my unit and it fixed the problem. BTW I sent you a private message about the MCU.img file.

Good to hear.
On my unit - kld1 v2.77 works - even tho my original was KLD nor kld1.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Just for info - the radio failed on both my units after updating to 5.1.1, I tried all of the KLD non numbered MCUs and none would repair the radio, but flashing KLD6 v2.85 worked for me, even though my unit was a KLD non numbered MCU unit.

Beautifully working VU2.39. Then decided to add new lock ring. Totally messed up phone.
Restored with ROM Manager to prior situation, but have totally lost phone radio (and therefore phone, 3g etc.) Have tried restoring many times, tried airplane mode, wiped cache...all with no solution.
Shows no service, no CDMA or other option exists in settings, phone info shows:
Signal Strength =0
Mobile Network Type unknown
Service state= out of service
What did I do here??? How to fix???
Have now done factory reset and called Verizon. They tried to change manual codes but to no avail. Seems my radio got fried by applying the Captain America launch ring. Is this possible that that was the cause. Worked perfectly before I patched this today.
Help! I don't want a new phone as it will come with 2.3.4 not rootable.

2.3.4 is definitely rootable. And I don't think a ring would change that much. Have you tried flashing a New radio?

I tried flashing new radio. No difference.
I just can't believe that the sense link patch would have actually physically damaged the radio and killed the system, but I cannot get anything to "activate" the radio. In manual program mode ##778, the display settings say "radio version 1.09.01.0622", so the software should be there. But it cannot find the hardware.
I have matched my NAM settings and Home SID to the same as my wife (her phone is fine).

Try flashing this Radio. It's the last one on the list.
No difference whatsoever! So what do you think has happened and how and why? How could flashing the Captain America htc unlock ring have caused such destruction?
Any how could it fry or totally immobilize the radio? I really do not want to replace the phone, but am giving up hope for a solution. It's got to be either something very simple, or the radio did get fried.
And I still don't see where I can unlock and root 2.3.4 on this forum or at the Revolutionary site.

Well...... Was the lockring made for your specific ROM and phone? If not, that may be why.
Have you tried any other ROMs to make sure it's not just something interfering in the ROM itself?
To root 2.3.4, you have to downgrade the hboot v.98 to v.97 following these steps found here.
Link came from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1135020.html
SHould this have bricked the radio??
Can you resend root 2.3.4 link, as the one above goes back to the radio instructions.
Many thanks.

Post edited so the link for 2.3.4 root should work. But, yeah, that's for Thunderbolt, not the DINC2. Try flashing another ROM or full wipe/reflash of VU 2.39. Don't apply any mods until you find out if it works, and see if someone can port the lockring to the DINC2.
Wiped twice regular and dalvik, installed the clean ROM for phone I had saved. DEAD Radio. Bummer, but thanks for you help.
Mobile Network Type= unknown
Service State= out of service
This has not changed with any fixes I have tried.

What about the .722 radio?? Earlier you said you had the .622 radio which is an older one. If that doesn't work, boot into hboot and factory reset (I think this works). Then you'll probably have to re-root. Otherwise, you can get a new phone, and root via the downgrade.
Absolutely no solutions anywhere. Tried everything twice! New phone on the way. Very frustrating situation.

I've tried JB 4.1 and 4.1.1 and both versions give me the same strange phenomenon . Once in a while the pin code screens pops up and disappears immediately.
Sometimes the pin code screens stays up for a while, entering my pin code gives an invalid pin code message.
Inserting my wife's sim card does not solve this problem.
I do not have this problem running ICS.
Here's a video showing the bug (bit shaky):

Anyone knows about this problem?

Did you flash the new radio? I'm also on 4.1.1 and am not seeing this issue, but I didn't update the radio firmware...

I did not flash my radio.
I get the exact same issue. How every its only when I'm using my 0044 global sim. My UK orange sim is fine. Also only happens when I try to make a call.
Currently running JB 4.1.0 port.

I have it when i'm working with the phone. I don't know if it could be the sim card since i don't have this issue with 4.04.
flash the radio
I'd suggest trying to flash the radio firmware & see what happens... New radio is supposed to work with both ICS & JB.

Well that is the latest radio available I'm afraid. If it doesn't work for you, you could always try to downgrade to a previous version and see if that helps in your case...
It's early but so far it did not happen. This might just be the solution.

A couple of days back I rooted my wildfire and installed CM7. Everything worked like a charm except for a GPS.
I managed to find the Radio.img version ending in 19.25 which is needed to make GPS work and flashed it over fastboot after installing the Android SDK on my linux machine.
It works and locks to the gps. I'm now going to test it out extensively in the wild and go on a hike. (I'll come back later with the results).
Now my question is: Why would I want to update it to 20.10? Any benefits?
(By the way, bluetooth works as well).
In case it is suggested to upgrade my radio... how would I have to do it?
Would I have to reflash with fastboot or should I first download "Test GPS", clear and upgrade the AGPS data and then reflash radio 20.10?
Thank you!
some radios have network advantages over others IE a radio that gives me great network connection may not give you the same result

hello.
Im having the exactly same issue. D855 Europe version with firmware 10e, rooted.
So if I upgrade the firmware the issue would be solved?
How can I get the 10F/10G version? Tried an OTA but it says that I already have the latest software.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Now going to find a way to get the update. Automatic OTA is saying Im already in the latest version.
Just to confirm that I SOLVED this issue by installing "WI-Fi Tether Router" app from Google Play. I could not find how to update my phone to a newer firmware, but this app works well.. It worths the $2.
Hi Guys!
First: I´m german, so my english is not so well, but i hope you can help me.
My navigation on my one m9 doesn´t work. I already installed GPS Test and Toolbox and it´s not getting a gps fix, but finds 23 sattelites.
I tried many different gps configs, still doesn´t work.
I also installed a different rom (viperone) --> no change --> went back to stock --> still no change
I have the newest firmware (3.35.401.12)
I hope you can help me
Thank you guys
Exact same problem. I've been trying to find a fix for months. Let me know if you work it out.
That.. Is a bug with android, phone side. reflash with an ruu to fix it. You need to reset all the gps software on the device.

Flashed ruu. Firmeware. Rom. Nothing fixed it.
Same here.
Tried every gps.conf configuration existing, nothing. GPS Never fixes.
Tried to swap SIM (I read some people saying that they solved this issue swapping between different sims), Nothing, GPS Never fixes.
I'm getting always:
SAT 0/8-20 SIG 0/infinite on GPS Status.

Flashed RUU with OPJAIMG.zip and changed the SIM --> Still no GPS Fix. I don´t understand why it finds 23 Sattelites but gets no fix
Any other Ideas? I think i´m going to send it to htc and hope they fix it without saying it´s my fault because of software changing

I recently bought a new M9 EMEA version from Ebay. Had the exact same issue using factory ROM. Sent it back and got another, which works fine. I think it was a hardware defect.
