Hello,
I need immediate help , inadvertently made a total wipe (including OS) my G4 , I have an unlocked bootloader and install twrp but I do not know how to fix my mistake . Unfortunately, I have not done before backup and was left with nothing. Can someone please insert your full system image made by twrp ? I am asking for a quick answer.

I think a backup of internal storage can help me
file_getprop: failed to stat "system/build.prp"
Are you sure, that this is the EXACT error? Because that means, the zip you want to flash is not correct. it should be build.prop and not build.prp
if you have twrp, just install a rom that DOES not check for existing file... like CM12.1 or CM13
then if you don't like these rom, you can flash again a stock based rom, it will find the file

Hello everyone,
I some how manage to mess something up and can't figure it out. I had CM10.1 installed on my ATT One X and decided to got ahead and get 11. did my back up and was ready to go. In any case the upgrade failed, I read several post regarding S-Off and such, and decided to proceed trying.
stupidly i did a factory reset while in the bootloader so there went everything. I have adb access and access to recovery, i remember when i used to play with the One X that you always need to get flash the boot.img in order to get your room to work but now i can't get any room to install. I have read several threads but none has gotten me anywhere.
The error i get while trying to install is

I wiped cache/dalvik in TWRP and it didn't help.
Should I flash systemroot.img (that was extracted from the rooted RUU file) through adb to restore the default /system/ directory? (not sure if that even works)

I would try "fastboot erase cache" from hboot. Most of the time twrp is giving errors, this will fix it

Needed to erase cache again.
After that I was able to flash the update through stock recovery. I did lose root though.

That's what I did, thanks!
So , I was helping my buddy out with his Roger branded HTC One M8... He had the latest OTA, unlocked the bootloader, installed a custom recovery, and finally tried to flash ARHD 10.2.....
ARHD won't flash because it says it's a corrupt .ZIP.....
The Backup we made before flashing, recovers, then reboots back into recovery ( fails )
Any other ROM also says corrupt .ZIP...
Have never had an issue like this before, and I have no idea what to do from this point on....
Already tried recovering the backup & flashing a different ROM.
I can't find the RUU for the latest rogers ROM ( Firmware 2.23.631.2 ) so I haven't tried to flash a stock ROM.... Can you install a stock ROM from before the OTA, if you did the OTA? Or will that just lead to more issues?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! ( PHONE MODEL M8_UL )
What recovery and what version?
My first hunch would be fastboot erase cache, and re-flash recovery using fastboot. Often clears up lots of flashing issues like this. Also make sure you are using an up to date version of recovery.
Also, you can try to put the ROM on a different location such as the removeable SD and flash from there.

Rogers often does not issue RUUs, so I would not be surprised if this is the case for the M8 as well. Although I personally can't say, as its not my carrier.

That version is 2 iterations old.
But just might be a bad recovery install, it happens (and as you mentioned, or works on your phone, so why not your buddy's?). adb erase cache and install newest TWRP (2.7.1.0).

the log got me thinking, after updating TWRP and then clearing the cache the mounting issue seemed wierd, so I tried sideloading to sdcard0 after clearing the cache once more then installing from sideload.zip on sdcard0, which entered the ARHD install GUI. so now I just need a confirmation on whether installing from sdcard0 is dangerous as a reformat mid install will erase the zip im trying to install from. soft brick is bad enough, really want to avoid an expensive paperweight.
I'm still in the menu, waiting for more seasoned minds to respond before I go through with it.

Hello there...I have an issue with my htc m8...When I try to flash a firmware or a custom rom like Maximus HD rom..I always get that error : Failed : no md5 file found
I have a rooted device with s-off and twrp recovery
Any help ? Thanks
1. You cannot flash a firmware in TWRP recovery .. you need fastboot flash the firmware.zip in RUU mode
2. Disable md5 checking in TWRP so you won't have that md5 error when a zip has no md5

So all I have to do is ticking the "Skip MD5 verification of backup files " option ?
Is there any guide to how to flash unsigned firmware using fast boot in RUU mode ?
Thanks ?
1. Yes
2. Lazy to rewrite thing all over again ... you can find it on many threads ...
Here is what I wrote for different firmware but the basic is the same ...
