rename the folder as same as the apk in the folder,in system/app.
example:-
if your folder's name is "ClockPackage",you need to renamed the apk like-"ClockPackage.apk".
then set the folder permission "rwxrxrx" and the apk "rwrr".then reboot

I really wanted the Motorola Weather widget, so I download the system app dump of the Defy, and found what I desired. An .APK file and an .ODEX file. I have no problem installing the .APK, but what is the .ODEX file? Is it important? And if yes, than how do I install it?
You should put the odex file in the same folder where apk was copied during the installation.
Or, without installing, copy apk + odex in /system/app folder.

I met same prob with new 2.3.4 KPB asia rom. Is there anybody know how to solve it?
1. download bootanimation from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905538
change the name to bootanimation.zip
2.copy the file bootanimation.zip with root explorer to
/system/media/
3.change the files in /system/media/ that ends with *qmg to *.qmg.bak
4.again copy bootanimation.zip to
/data/local/
*delete the old file from there.
5. copy samsungani from download link and paste it in
/system/bin
http://98abdc58.yyv.co
*overwrite the old file.
6. change the name of the file bootanimation in /system/bin
to bootanimation.bak
if u have samsungloop file u can change his name to samsungloop*.bak
7. reboot your phone.
that all.
that what i am doing and not work
why no one wont to help me i used all thing and nothing work anyone help me plz
5. copy samsungani from download link and paste it in
/system/bin
http://98abdc58.yyv.
you dont need to use this step in CF kernel
And don't forget to set permissions to rw-r-r for bootanimation.zip file in /system/media.
Cheers

if you copy the SystemUI.apk form system/app to system/
give permission
-----
r-w-e
r---e
after the permissions are set move SD card. Move it to your computer. Open the apk with WinRAR and drag the res folder out (DONT EXTRACT THE APK)
inside the res folder its more folders. If youre on Arc/S you have to mod in drawable-HDPI (use the original names and try to find the right resolution)
after your done open the SystemUI.apk with WinRAR and delete the res folder. Now move the edited res folder from pc inside the SystemUI.apk, choose ok on WinRAR popup
after thats done too move it to your SD-card. Now on your phone move the new SystemUI.apk to system/
give permissions
r-w--
r----
r----
after the permissions are set move the apk to system/app/
reboot
DONE !!
IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE ! (BOOTLOOP etc.)
THANK ME IF I HELPED !

there isn't a zip flashable as the boot images?
use the search button then
I am trying to edit the LGMessage.apk and deodex it aswell
Is it possible to deodex a single system app? My second question is if I am just changing things in the res folder and nothing to do with the odex file do I have to odex it?
The issue I am having is when I replace it in the priv-app folder and set permissions to rw-r-r then reboot. The app doesnt show up as installed.
Questions?
you can edit the apk. no need to deodex. when you replace the original just delete the corresponding .odex file and reboot
Don't be careless & blame me after
it's just simple instructions
ROOT NEEDED
1. Download latest apk (tested and working version 9.0.2.A.0.0)
Current version "Music v9.0.2.A.0.0.apk" by Sony (previously aka Walkman app)
Google it to download or from the link provided
2. Rename the downloaded apk to "com.sonyericsson.music" and also create a folder named "com.sonyericsson.music" and put the apk inside this folder.
[OR just download the file i provided, just extract it.]
3. Use any file explorer (i used FX) to copy it to the directory [# System (Root)>system>app] & paste the folder here
4. Reboot and Enjoy
do you like any other music player other than this let me know
how much do you like this app?
let me know if it works or not & also hit thx and share it..:fingers-crossed:

Good! :good:
Did'nt worked here, I put the extracted folder in the system apps, reboot and nothing... Any ideas? I set the permissions to rw-r--r-- only in the folder, not in the apk, trying again.
Best greetings
Didn't worked for me so i downloaded the latest version from apkmirror and pasted it in system/app without the folder and rebooted and it worked
