I did a screen replacement on my D722 and lost all sound. My earpiece speaker came back after a lot of flashing and reflashing. Headphones work intermittently. The loud speaker on the back is not working at all, so no media and no phone loud speaker.
I bought a used D855 that has the same problem, although I haven't disassembled it. The previous owner more than likely did.
The speaker may be damaged but I'm not sure how. It hasn't been mishandled and the earpiece recovery leads me to believe it is not speaker-hardware related. I'm wondering, with all the trigger points on the back, if I've somehow tripped something that flags in the firmware? I replaced build.prop and soft bricked.
Anyone know why my speaker (and headphones) aren't working? Thanks in advance.
Headphone socket has shut down completely now

Hey there
Yesterday I suddenly realized, that my ear piece speaker stopped working. First I thought it was just a little bug, solvable through re-trying to call or rebooting.
Nothing worked. Strangely enough going via the load speaker or the headset, everything sounds fine. Just the ear piece in the phone seems defect.
Then I found some weird diy solutions like using your headphone jack as a drill and pushing and pulling it in several ways or using a tooth-pick to scramble open some stuck switch. But honestly I don't know if this helps or breaks my headphone jack.
You guys have any idea how to solve this - don't want to send it in (wait weeks and get an lcd-desire back).
Cheers and Thanks
Just off the phone (no, not with my Desire) with HTC Customer Service, who have never heard of this issue and just recommend a hard-reset.
Still need to try the "jam the original headphones in and out"-solver tho.
seriously? I'm the first with this issue?
well hard reset, nor poking in the jack brought any benefit. so sending it in it is then :/
My phone took a quick swim the other day. Everything works except when I make calls it causes tons of static and I can hear the other person but they can't hear me. The weird thing is with headphones in or on speaker phone the phone works perfectly.
I thought maybe the ear piece speaker was to blame, but I bought a new one and replaced it, and still no luck. Any other thoughts on what may be the issue?
Thanks!
One of the connections came loose to the mic probably.
Happened to me on a old school PS2 headset, I could hear other people and they were all yelling saying I was hurting their ears.
Took the headset apart and sure enough found the unattached connection.
them not being able to hear you when normal call tells me the main mic has failed.
Normal calls use the second mic for noise cancelling only. Speakerphone use either, or just have them swap roles. I can't really tell. The main mic is part of the usb connector assembly. try reseating it first.
I just reseated it i believe. I took the screw out at the bottom of and removed the bottom block (of course after taking the phone apart). Still same staticy noise.
How do I have the speaker phone switch which mic it uses? Maybe I can pinpoint the issue and then order a replacement part?
I know this is an old post, but any progress on this? My nexus is having the exact same problem. I've already replaced the charging port/mic cable and the problem is still there. Thanks
That is all I had to do to get it fixed (replace port/charging + mic cable/ribbon at the bottom of the phone).
Alright, I ordered 2 replacement cables so I'll try another one when I get home later. Thanks for responding
Hi!
I have come by a LG G3 D855 with no speaker sound. Thinking a new speaker is no problem, I bought it.
I bought and put in a new speaker unit, but still no sound.
It has Android 6.0.
Everything else seem to work fine, normal sound in earpiece, also sound via headphones and bluetooth is normal.
I know nothing of phone history. Could it be a software problem?
Thanks for any good advice!
Regards Ornulf.
Hello, I have replaced the screen and housing on my LG Nexus 5x which went OK.
However, I now have no audio from the loud speaker under certain situations. I have replaced the earpiece (I now don't think this was anything to do with it) and headphone jack to no avail but have narrowed it down to the lower back plate (the bit you screw in over the headphone jack). Sounds through the headphones work correctly BTW.
When the back is pressed on very lightly the speaker works. (so the pogo pins connect to the cover/speaker). However, when you click the plastic on speaker cuts out. My guess is something gets pushed in too far so something either loses contact or makes contact that shouldn't.
Any thoughts/ideas most welcome. I've made a little video to illustrate what I mean: drive.google dot com /file/d/1CU37Fvrq2NfL6WKNS0sn0ssw_3s-BWx1/view
same here after battery replacement
Although i have purchased a new speaker still no sound out of it.
pressing the back did not work on either part.
any suggestions?

Hey everyone,
Recently i repaired and changed my broken screen and now theres no sound coming off my internal ear speaker. I checked all connections carefully and im sure nothing is broken..
I can hear sound from the speaker on top. The other one is silent too. I bent all connectors a little bit to ensure the connecticity, but now ive got no idea where the probl could be.
Can anybody explain to me where are the connectors for the speaker exactly?
Thank you!
Can anyone upload a working mixer_paths.xml please?
I'm rooted and on actual lineage rom..
