I just want it working as original or however which is more easier to work with
I would be really thankful for any help.
I asked you to make a new thread in M8 Q&A, not here.
I requested Moderator to move this to correct section
What I can see in your post, you still have TWRP recovery installed only the bootloader is relocked, right ?
Do you have a microSD in your device.
What you need to do :
1. Download this 1.80.720.1 TWRP backup : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62987237&postcount=153
2. Extract that TWRP.7z with 7-zip, then copy the folder 2015-04-26--06-07-46 KTU84P release-keys to where you have your TWRP backup
Let say you never make one before, boot into recovery then select "backup" then select "boot", "system" & "data" and select the storage your microsd then swipe to backup.
Now go to mount, and check whether MTP is enabled then connect to PC. Open SDCard on PC and browse to TWRP/BACKUPS/YourSerialNo/YourBackup
Copy folder 2015-04-26--06-07-46 KTU84P release-keys here.
3. In recovery, select wipe - advance wipe - tick Dalvik cache, Cache, System & data
4. In recovery, select restore - select folder 2015-04-26--06-07-46 KTU84P release-keys and tick only boot and system (leave data unticked) - Swipe to restore)
5. Reboot - run setup.
6. Check for software update - settings - about - software update. You should receive update for 4.30.720.4
7. Download the update file, once it asks to install select install later. Connect your device to PC. Copy the OTA zip from Internal storage/Downloads folder to PC.
8. Open the OTA zip with 7-zip, you'll see firmware.zip inside it. Extract out firmware.zip. Put the firmware.zip in your fastboot/adb folder
9. Boot your device to bootloader then run these commands
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
if failed : FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)
repeat fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot reboot
10. check OTA again and install
11. Once first OTA done, check again as there is another OTA 4.30. 720.5
12. Done - you'll lose root and TWRP
13. If you want to root, you need to unlock bootloader and install TWRP and root again.
Hey thanks

It worked upto step 8 until the last reboot command on step 9 which didnt give ny error. However, the htc got stuck on the white htc logo and now there is stock android recovery.
The bootloader still relocked and s-off and software status-modified.
What could have possibly gone wrong? and what can be done now?
Thanks again for ur earlier response
Unlocked the bootloader but still getting stuck at the HTC logo after doing the fastboot reboot. What can be done?
So you managed to unlock bootloader ? Then remember never to relock it again.
Do you still have the TWRP recovery that meant for your device that you used before ?
Do you still have that firmware.zip ? Open it with 7-zip and extract out recovery.img
Then :
1. Install TWRP
2. Do the restore again but this time restore all data, boot & system
3. After restore, select reboot to bootloader
4. Install recovery.img (the one extracted from firmware.zip)
Then follow step 5 to 13 but SKIP 7,8 & 9
Thank you shall try this once home and let you know.. I appreciate
Is it possible to do a custom recovery on m8eye. Have tried looking for the Rom but couldn't find any.
I don 't get it? if he is s-off'd and s-cid'd he could unlock, relock, and what he want s to do.. a rom or a recovery to find will harder.. maybe at chinese forums? but why you wan t it original and now you ask for custom-recovery?

The more you relock and unlock it the higher the risk to brick the bootloader. It's not made to be unlocked and relocked many times !
There is no need to relock it anymore because all the things he wants to do can be done with an unlocked BL so no need to take unnecessary risks

First of all, there is no Android 4.3 released yet. Look in the development section to find a rom to your taste. I would recommend something stable as a first custom rom.
Concerning the unlock token, the EasyAceRootTool also wants to install version 3.13 somewhere during those steps. First finish that, then follow the steps on the unlock token with HTCDev.
Simple, basic keypoints.
1. Unlock bootloader by following ALL steps @ htcdev.com (fully unlocked)
2. Flash a recovery.img via fastboot on pc.
3. Flash a superuser.zip via recovery.
4. Backup rooted stock Rom. (save just in case of problems)
5. Flash New Rom.zip via recovery (need to do full wipe).
6. MUST DO, DON'T SKIP ---> Flash the boot.img (inside Rom.zip) via fastboot on pc for every Rom change! Including when doing a recovery.
7. You tell me.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
You need to update your hboot.
Hello,
when i start my phone with vol- and the power button, it says unlocked or something in pink.
when i do recovery, ClockworkMod opens i did following steps :
5. Use the ‘backup and restore’ feature of recovery to backup your existing ROM installation, software and data. This step is known as performing a nandroid backup. ALWAYS perform a backup before flashing a custom ROM, UNLESS you can afford to lose everything that’s on your phone at the moment.
Note: ALWAYS choose to perform the following steps 6, 7 and 8 UNLESS the ROM you are attempting to flash is an updated version of the same ROM that you are currently using, and is compatible with the current installation’s data. It is usually mentioned with the update whether you can install it over a previous version without wiping its data or not.
6. Get back to the main recovery menu and use the option ‘wipe data/factory reset’. You will be prompted to confirm this action. Select “Yes – Delete all user data”.
7. From the main recovery menu, select ‘wipe cache partition’. You will be prompted to confirm this action. Select ‘Yes – Wipe Cache’.
8. From the main recovery menu, enter the ‘advanced’ menu. From this menu, select ‘Wipe Dalvik Cache’. You will be prompted to confirm this action. Select ‘Yes – Format/System’.
9. From the main recovery menu, enter the ‘Mounts and Storage’ menu. From this menu, select ‘Format/System’. You will be prompted to confirm this action. Select ‘Yes – Wipe Dalvik Cache’.
10. Go back to the main recovery menu by pressing the back button and select the ‘Install zip from SD card’ option.
11. Select ‘choose zip from sdcard’ to get a list of the files and folders on your SD card. Scroll to the ROM’s file that you copied there in step 3, and select it. You will be prompted to confirm this action. Select ‘Yes – Install file_name.zip’ where file_name.zip is the name of the zip file that you are trying to install.
12. Wait patiently while the ROM is flashed to your phone via recovery.
13. Once the installation is complete, head back to the main recovery menu if you aren’t there, and select ‘reboot system now’. Your phone will now boot into the newly installed ROM.
from another topic.
buth when i reboot the system, the only thing that happens is a black screen with : =SoftBank on it.
how do i flash things to my htc?
when i restore my HD with the ClockworkMod thing, it starts back up, buth i can't call wit it (it doesn't ask for pin-code, and it's an old android version)
best regards
Is your bootloader unlocked? If so, every time you flash a ROM you need to extract the boot.img from the ROM zip and
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
.

Hi
I am completely new to developing and have managed to brick my HTC One X.
I need to record calls as part of my job so i tried to follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663642
However, somehow i completely bricked my phone and i didnt make any back ups.
So far i have managed to do the following:
1. Unlock the phone via HTCdev
2. Get to the fastboot screen
3. fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru.img
4. fastboot flash boot boot.img (from the file 3.16.110.4 which aparantly is the correct file according to CID TMOB-005)
5. fastboot erase cache
6. Then reflash recovery 'fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru.img'
After the above steps, my phone is now stuck on the HTC Quietly Brilliant screen.
I have been reading threads for the last two days but nothing seems to be working which is probably due to my lack of understanding.
I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thanks

okwell decide which rom you want and download it, once it's downloaded double click the zip and copy the boot.img then paste it into your fastboot folder. next copy the rom to your sdcard, to do this start recovery and select mount usb storage then copy the file from pc to sdcard. now start bootloader and fastboot erase cache, then fastboot flash boot boot.img, then again fastboot erase cache. then go back into recovery and flash the rom. when its finished flashing wipe the cache and dalvic cache then reboot

I took your advise to look at the guide again. However, I have checked for an automatic install RUU but there isnt one available for my phone.
I have to download the correct RUU onto my PC and follow some instructions similar to yours for the Custom Rom. However, when i install the zip from the SDcard, it states the below error:
-- Installing: /sdcard/3.16.110.4.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Cant open /sdcard/3.16.110.4.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
Do you know why this is happening.
I have tried it now with a 3.16.110.4.zip & filmware.zip (for my phone).
Thanks for your help.

I have now fixed this problem with a Nandroid recovery. Thanks for your help.
Help my hox is lock on sentinel 4.75 and I cant flash any other rom onto it.
Every time I try to load another rom it crashed at the htc boot screen and never load (I have left it for up to 20 mins)
When this happens the only thing I can do is reload a nandroid of sentinel 4.75 and flash the boot image to return to my previous rom.
I have tried multiple roms including probam, sentinel 5.0, xenonhd and icj with no luck on any of them.
I am on Hboot 1.31 and have installed philz recovery.
Recently I found that my phone had no root access and had to reflash the rom - again the only one that worked was sentinel 4.75
Is there anything I can do to fix my phone to allow me to load another rom. Im finding different issues every time I reload sentinel and would really love to load something else.
Update the hboot
I am guessing that you are forgetting to flash the boot image included in the rom you desire to install.
For example you want to install sentinel v5.00.
update: forgot to mention that you need to update your hboot to run newer roms. you can find proper
hboot update files for your cid in xda forum. Credits to Mr Hofs for the reminder.
Follow these steps.
Technical terms:
adb or fastboot folder: a folder where you have fastboot.exe and adb.exe
HOX: HTC One X
preparation:
a. go to your fastboot or adb folder and rename any 'boot.img' to anything else, like sentinel475.img
b. download the zip file of the rom you want to install
c. copy this zip file into your HOX
d. open the zip file and copy the 'boot.img' file into your adb or fastboot folder
e. make sure your HOX has atleast 60% charge(50% is also fine)
Flashing procedure:
Reboot into recovery
Select 'wipe data/factory reset'
Select 'wipe data/factory reset for new rom' ( applicable to philz recovery only)
Then go back to main menu in recovery
Select 'install zip from sdcard'
Select the zip file, the one you copied to your HOX
Once it has been flashed properly
Reboot into bootloader
connect your HOX with your PC and make sure the HOX display shows 'fastboot usb' in red
open a command window and go to your fastboot folder
type in fastboot flash boot boot.img
type in fastboot erase cache
type in fastboot reboot
disconnect your hox and wait for 5 to 7 minutes for hox to boot into desktop
Thats it. I always follow these steps and everything is fine. You also have to flash gapps zip file but we need to get a proper rom
loaded first before we can do anything else. gapps is always flashable later so no worries about it.
BTW, does it say 'Unlocked' or 'Relocked' in your bootload on the top of the screen?
Can you post the steps you are following to flash other roms? May be you are missing some steps.
Most of the times, a rom will not boot if you don't flash the boot.img that came with the rom.
Thanks, and let me know your results
[Disclaimer: If you follow these steps then you automatically agree to not hold me and all xda forum staff and members responsible for
any damage that might have resulted following or not following these instructions properly or improperly.]
Leave the steps above for now. First give me the outcome of
Fastboot getvar version-main
Thanks rowlf I have installed a few roms before and am familiar with the installation process.
Sorry mistaken it is hboot 1.36
Mr hofs - the version is 3.14.707.24
In case you need cid is HTC__044
I suggest you run the ruu to get back to full stock and try to update via official ota.
http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_296434_signed.exe
Get the hboot higher up.
Edit :
1.36 ? Thats fine for all roms. When you install a new one i always advice to do the full wipe manually. Factory reset, wipe caches and format cache, data and system ! Then install the rom.
hi friends,
my phone
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL

I flashed philz_touch_5.15.9-endeavoru.
I did something and now i can not flash a rom in any way. I need your advise, thanks in advance.
- when I push the power button to open the phone, only HBOOT screen comes.
- I tried to copy a rom to sd card by connecting the phone to the computer, but computer does not see the sd card. Also it says ''failed to open usb master mode'' on hboot menu.
- I tried to coke by running the RUU exe file like ''RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed'' and similar more 4 file but ROM Update program says ''Rom Update Utility can not update your android phone. Please get the correct Rom Update Utility' and try again''. İ think i tried wrong RUU exe files. i searched 4.18.401 but i was not able to find any RUU exe file. I only found One_X_4.18.401.3_odexed.zip file, but I dont know how to flash this rom. so I need a correct RUU exe file not zip file.
So, what can do I do to flash the rom?
Why do you post a question in the development section ! Please read where you post. There is a Q&A section created with a reason !
There are no ruu's for that hboot. You can't flash a rom from the bootloader.
1: enter the recovery and mount the sdcard. Leave it as long as it need to see the storage pop up on the pc
2: copy the rom.zip to the sdcard
3: perform a full wipe in the recovery (ALL EXCEPT SDCard)
4: install the rom
5: flash the boot.img from the rom.zip via fastboot
6: reboot the phone
7: step 4 & 5 can be done in any order you like.

Sorry, this was about rom. so i read here. any way to carry to there?
I can not mount the sdcard, computer does not see it. so i was not able to copy any file to sdcard.
You need to give it time when you mounted,it, it doesn't work straight away. It can take up to 2 minutes before you even see it happen !!!
I had problem with my HTC M8 One not being to update Android. It downloaded Android (~1.16GB) and after I tried to install it a Red Triangle with an exclamation mark appeared. After I restarted the phone the same "popup" appears telling me that there is an available System Update. I tried to update my phone several times but the same problems appeared.
Alright I thought, let's be one of the cool guy and flash my phone.
First I unlocked my bootloader following the instructions from htcdev.com. (It says "unlocked")
After that I followed the instructions on this site: wccftech.com/ how-to-update-htc-one-m8-to-android-6-custom-rom/ and now I can't get past the startup-screen. It also has a message in red saying "This build is for development purpose only ..." after following the step "fastboot reboot".
Right now nothing really seems to work and I'm not sure how to be able to proceed.
Any help is highly appreciated!
Best regards,
Tomas

First can you Boot into FASTBOOT mode ( to boot into fastboot mode turn off the phone and turn on holding volume down button)
Second if you boot into fastboot mode can you go into recovery?
FIrst let me explain where I'm at now and what I did. I downloaded a ROM that was, supposedly, made for my carrier (Telcel) and CID (HTC__332) so I downloaded that file, renamed it to 0P6BIMG and moved it to the root folder of the SD card. When I started up the bootloader it started to check for that file and then it said "Checking." for a while and then the text "Press <POWER> to reboot." appeared over the "Checking" text: i64.tinypic.com/ 317d1ep.jpg
Then after restart this appears: i65.tinypic.com/ 1194d5k.jpg
It restarts and the same screen but with the text "Entering Recovery..." appears: i63.tinypic.com/ 33vitn4.jpg
And after that it restarts once again to the screen without the "Entering recovery" and it goes on like this forever until there is no battery. During this step I can't access the bootloader or anything.
Now that my battery drained out and I'm starting it up to the bootloader and the "Recovery" it looks like this:
Bootloader: i67.tinypic.com/ 2lw4y15.jpg
After recovery: i68.tinypic.com/ inhnrs.jpg
It stays under the "Entering Recovery..." screen and nothing happens.
Also did "fastboot erase cache" (under FASTBOOT USB) and then started "RECOVERY" again with no success as you mentioned in this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/ showthread.php?t=2265290
Actually I cannot view the pics from the link as iam not on my computer. I'll check the pics one I reach home
Tell me what your bootloder says on top (locked , unlocked or relocked)
Try deleting the ROM file from your root of SD card ( make sure you have the backup of that file on your PC ) and then check if you boot into fastboot/ recovery.

Your firmware is too low to run current Custom ROM and too low to use latest TWRP version. That's why it stuck.

Restore 1.12.600.20 non-rooted backup and install 4.32.600.2 stock recovery (because 1.12.600.20 stock recovery is not available)
then reboot and do OTA to 4.32.600.2 then to 6.17.600.3
I can't personally guide you because I'm away on holiday and be back only on 15/7

Your firmware is too low to run current Custom ROM and too low to use latest TWRP version. That's why it stuck.

Thanks for your help!
Following your step I should install 4.32.600.2 but I get a "Failed" message. Also according to step 11 I should "11. fastboot flash stock recovery that you downloaded - command fastboot flash recovery x.xxx.xx.x_recovery.img" but under that stock recovery (4.32.600.2) I can't find an image file, just a ZIP file.
I'm not really sure what to do but I managed to install TWRP and restore 1.12.600.20 but I'm stuuck now on the stock recovery.
I see that I have "S-ON" and I was wondering if that might cause any problems? (Reading about it on this page: www.addictivetips.com/mobile/ what-is-s-off-how-to-gain-it-on-htc-android-phones-with-unrevoked-forever/ )
Steps from the beginning:
1. Installed twrp 2.8.1.0 (for 1.xx.xxx.x & 2.xx.xxx.x TWRP backup, in this case 1.12.600.20)
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\Jefecito\Downloads\twrp-2.8.1.0-m8.img
sending 'recovery' (16576 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.746s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.987s]
finished. total time: 2.733s
2. Downloaded TWRP backup 1.12.600.20
3. Downloaded Stock Recovery 4.32.600.2
4. Extracted 1.12.600.20_ckpv5.zip (It contains a variety of win and m5 files)
5. Backup "Boot". According to TWRP the Bacukup Folder is: /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/SH46..../2017-07-03--18-21-10 LRX22G release-keys/
6b. (No OS) Verifies that MPT is enabled.
7. I transferred the extracted folder "1.12.600.20" to the SD card. Note: I mounted the SD card as a USB Storage as it didn't allow to transfer big files and then I unmounted it.
8. I made a wipe and selected "Dalvik Cache, "Cache", "Data" and "System" and it completed without any error message.
9. I made a restore (TWRP -> Restore -> Selected the "1.12.600.20" folder) and it was it was 2076 MB big. "Boot", "Data" and "System" was ticked.
10. I rebooted the device and selected "Do not install". It rebooted do the startup screen and I could see the carrier image.
It stopped working there. I restarted the device and a windows saying "Android is updraging..." popped up. After that I had a working Android 4.x version.
11. I installed the "4.32.600.2_recovery" and tried to reinstall the OTA System Update but after the reboot it now stops at the startup screen again. When I turn it off using Power + Volume Up it automatically restars so I'm having problem accessing the Bootloader.
12. After some attempts I managed to access the Bootloader and installed twrp-2.8.1.0-m8.img.
13. I wiped everything as in step 8.
14. I "Restored" backup 1.12.600.20.
15. Now it booted up okay with the old Android version, as expected, and it said "Android is upgrading...".
16. I made a stock recovery to 4.32.600.2_recovery.img. From my understanding OTA will not work without the stock recovery.
17. I restarted the phone and tried an OTA update (4.32.600.2) but after the restart it got stuck under the "Startup Screen". The "Update" icon (the green circle and the red one with an exclamation mark when an error occurrs) never appeared, just directly to the startup screen.
After that I restored it again and decided to give it a break.
Later I will try the RUU file from HTC.
