How to translate WM6 ?

Hello everyone,
I saw a thread about german translation of the WM6, therefore probably it's possible to translate to other languages as well, right?. Can someone tell a little bit more about this? How this can be done? Thanks in advance for any info

I'm making the German translation, but I had some help from a friend working for BenQ-Siemens Germany to do this...
I've got all needed files, so it was very easy to translate the existing WWE rom
You could try to use localized packages from WM5 to localize WM6, but I'm not sure it will be possible, cos I think there might be too many changes
if you would like to try that, you should try my package tool
use it to build packages of your rom and you will see that there are localized packages like: Base_Lang_0409
all this localized packages should be replaced

If U really want 2 translate WM6 U can use ResorceEditor - it exports & imports except others, strings from file. So all the menu items dialogs etc. u get in txt file. then U can start translating. btw. - enjoy

I prefer resource tuner 'cause Resource editor sometime corupted fliles.

Can anyone tell me what files need to be translated?
I have used package tool to see the files but when i build packages some .dll files show as folders...seems strange.
any help will be appreciated.

When i have a pre-relase version i will open a new topic.
After the keyboard/spellcheck/dictionary customization, if i can, i wish to perform an italian translation of all WM6.

Good job, if u need help I'm here.. I've tried another way, but I don't know how pakages need to be changed with the italian version.

best way is to wait for dutty ROMKoch v2, download localized WM6 Images from m$hit and extract lang pack.

Can´t replace in manila-editor

I´d like to habve the ´background in all tabs´. I found the thread about, or lets say the threads .
But i can´t replace the manilafile with my own pic.
When i try to do so, manila-editor gives me an error.
I dont know why, i do everything like it is said in the threads.

I dont want to make you type a ton (but I dont want to type a bunch of instructions either ) so what exactly have you tried? All you should need is total commander and the will to copy/paste

ok, lets try make it short.
I downloaded the ´background in all tabs´, with 4a087e41_manila and 5c9aa261_manila files in it. I started the manila-editor and opend the folder with this files. now i can chose the 4a08....file. editor now gives me the possibilty to -save as- or -replace- . I just try to replace the manilafile with my own pic. so i just browse for my pic and press ok. but then it gives me an error. i cant translate this error showing in english, sry, but maybe i just do something wrong.
As far as i know i need the totalcommander to copy/paste the files into my HD. but i need to replace my own image first.

Without knowing the error its impossible to help you out. Post a screenshot. If its german, many people here are native speakers.

I have never seen that lol. This looks like a windows error though, not a manila editor problem. I regret to say that i don't even know where to start with that. My best guess would be to start with windows update and grab all the updates you can (i see some .Net framework errors as an example. Maybe your version inst current).
Also, tell us abotu the image you are trying to put into the file. What is it, png, jpg, gif, .....? What size is it? I doubt the image is the problem but with all that you posted we need to start somewhere

yes, looks like some system issue. The message clearly states:
Der Zugriff auf den Pfad C:\lut1.lut wurde verweigert.
which translates to: access to path C:\lut1.lut is denied.
Could be a number of reasons, so only generic tips are possible.
- best guess: try to run the app as administrator - i remember there is a way to do so but not exactly how. Its been a while i've playing with vista though.
- check if this file already exists and has r/o or system attribute or something
- run chkdsk to ensure your directory structure on C: is correct
- try to create a file with that name manually, can you do that? If yes, maybe its just the application which isnt allowed (as its vista, i've no idea where to start looking for rights)
As far as manilaeditor is concerned, i cant run it off a networked drive (although mapped a driveletter), but runs fine from a local disc. Seems to be a bit tricky with some configurations.

Just so you know, the image size has to be 256x256 for the background 4 all tabs and PNG format works best for me. try to resize your image to that size and let us know what happens

right click manila editor executable and select "run as administrator"

and tried on my XP-Pc, and guess what happend?

1 last question. where can i find 4a087e41_manila file. It supposed to be in windows\, but i cant find it. I would need to backup the old file.

Why after proses dumping with Ultra StdEdition ROM Builder the file on /tmp/ automatically delete? so i can't use it for cook

hi to all , my problem is solved now. the steps which i undertook was
1.installed latest .net framework , both full and cf
2.ran unlocker v3a
3. ran hard spl v7
4. finally installed darkvisions v5 final. now everything is ok
