My question, is it possible to add the feature to show the heads up notification on the bottom of the screen. Like introduced on the weekly 6.8.

Anyone knows how I can display the date on the top left corner of the screen? The date appears there when you open the notifications, but disapperas when you close it...
Id like to keep it there!
Thanks
Android was the pioneer of the notification bar. The idea, very similar to the taskbar in windows, offers far more flexibility and utility. One factor common with Windows, though, is that it disappears during games and certain other apps. Now, in terms of notifications, this feature is not that useful because you still have to navigate out of the game to see your notification. There are several utilities to bypass this though: for me, BirdBar coupled with Notifier Pro works perfectly and brings the seamlessness of a multitasking beast. BUT, the notification bar is NOT available by default.
This problem is further highlighted by the fact that now you can place all sorts of shortcuts on the notification bar, the prime purpose of that being that you are able to switch apps and tweak your phone on the fly. Again, all that disappears when the notification bar disappears.
With Android 4.0, an interface element was introduced that stays on screen ALL the time, even during full screen games. That's right, the nav bar.
So here's my idea: take the notification bar, bring it downward and attach it to the nav bar. During a game, the notification bar can disappear but a shortcut to it can live in the nav bar (on the far right perhaps). ALternatively, the notification bar can slide upward with a swipe action starting from the bottom of the screen.
The 'hybird bar' thus created can expand dynamically whenever a notification is received.
Any takers?
Like have menu on one side and notifications on the other... I like it.

what about having the muiltitask bar also in the notifications pulldown that way we can have a menu button again.
God I miss the menu button lol
Great idea my friend tell one of the devs if they can help you out with that.

There are several apps (widgetsoid one of them) that can place shortcuts in the notification bar. Also, the placing of menu button is possible even now through mods.
Getting in touch with devs was the prime idea behind starting this thread. If possible, I would like to pitch this to renowned devs and Google Android team itself. Question is: How.
Does anyone know how to hide the square top right corner toggle to edit the notification toggles? It's very annoying, everytime I swipe down to bring down the menu and my finger is near the right side it will bring down the toggles to edit. Any way to remove this? I thought wanam would have this feature but no where to be found. Any suggestions?
I was wondering if anyone was aware of a way to mod the system so that a single finger swipe down on the notification bar bring down the notifications only and not the quick settings as well? It's so annoying having to swipe the quick settings away to expand notifications.
Swipe down on the notification to open the notification in a popup window
Tap to open full screen
Pretty awesome!

Doesn't work for me. Swiping down on notification just pulls down the notification panel. Do I have to disable the pull down notifications gesture first?
When using your phone and you receive a notification as a pop-up on your screen, you do a quick swipe down on that to launch the notification into a pop-up window
If you're trying to launch a notification from your notification pull down list.... then press and hold on the notification continuously until you get to drag it to the center of the screen to launch as a popup, or to the edges (if using an other app) to split screen the existing app with the notifying app!

Thanks but that first option doesn't work for me. Swiping down on the toast notification just brings down the notification bar. Had no effect on the active notification pop-up. I will try disabling that gesture and see if it behaves the way you describe. That would be a very helpful feature for me. Thank you.
I do have the swipe down gesture to pull the notification drawer too...
In my developer settings I have these 2 options enabled -
1. Force activities to be resizeable
2. Enable free-form windows
I think I figured your issue... you must have selected "detailed" and not "brief" as your notification style in your notification settings

Yes you are correct. Just changed to brief. I will try as soon as I get a notification. Thank you!

It works! Thank you great feature! Samsung really needs to go back to including 600 page manuals with these things! I wonder how many other useful features I still don't know about???
