Use Of Square UP Reader

I'm starting this here cause there isn't on for Xoom.
Square up works on my Motorola Xoom. Its pretty cool bought from Apple store. Paid 9.95. In side the box was a 10.00 gift card. I've used it twice all ready and it's great. they do the Pay-pal thing...

Square are a mobile payment system. The reader is a card reader that you can plug into the headphone jack I believe. I didn't know there was an Android app but I am in the UK and think it could be a US thing only so far.

I'm thinking about switching off of my quickbooks merchant services to something like this. No monthly fees, flat 2.75% per transaction with swiped cards is much better than $19.95 a month with a $20 minimum @ 3.something % through QB.

I do several thousand dollars a month is sales using Square. It works great.Not sure why you would "buy it" at the Apple store though. If you go to their website and sign up (Free) they send you a free reader. I guess the cost of the gas to run over to the Apple store so you can fondle an iPad 2 is worth it for some people.

You pay $10 for the reader and get $10 Credit voucher for Square so it is the same really.

[Q] Anyone buy their unlocked GSM from Amazon?

Right now, I'm seeing a "like new" version for $389 and free shipping. The seller reviews are fantastic. Just wondering if anyone else went this route. I'm looking to save a couple of bucks and going this route would save me close to $50 compared to the Google Play store.

Potential Problems:
Like New Devices = refurbished.
I.E. the original owner didn't like it or had problems.
OR the manufacturer found "no fault" and they're completely the same as the device that was returned.
Personally...
$50 to me doesn't seem like much when I'm potentially going to keep the device for two years.

Yeah, the only thing about Google Play is that they don't take multiple forms of payment. I was planning on using $75 in AMEX gift cards, something I can do at Amazon (if I purchase Amazon GC's with the AMEX GC's). I may look at a new GNEX from Amazon though.

I wonder if you could call in the order and use multiple cards? They have an actual customer service number now. Worth a shot. I'd definitely get the play store one over an Amazon one.

well I'm assuming you'd end up using the AMEX gift cards eventually on something else... unless they're expiring soon I don't see the reason to worry about using them on the Nexus specifically.
Oh, and just because you buy an actual brand new one on Amazon still doesn't mean you get a warranty. You'll only get a US warranty on the Play Store.

Chromecast

I recently received my chromecast from amazon. It works well with my Xoom and Netflix sent to my older 40 inch lcd flatscreen. $35 for chromecast at amazon and $24 for 12 month subscription to Netflix on ebay makes for fairly cheap TV and movies.

I ordered mine on Amazon and got an email that they had no idea when it would ship. Several days later I received an email that it would arrive by xxx date and ship xxx date. A day later I got an email saying it would be October. I cancelled and ordered on Google play store and after a week with no shipping information I called Bestbuy after seeing a tweet from Droid Life saying BB was back in stock. They did in fact have it so I bought it and cancelled on google play.
That was about a month ago. I love it and makes cable/dish seem like a waste of money. I've also got HD bunny ears that get me 5 PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW and a couple new ones. Its enough to give me a taste of commercials and turn it off.
When I bought it from bestbuy the lady asked for my email. Later that day I received an email with instructions to redeem my three months of Netflix. I had heard that the promo had already expired and wasn't able to verify the promo code worked. I'll be checking the next few bills.

Was there a VR headset promo if you bought from goole?

I was on the waitlist for like two weeks, then i finally was able to purchase the phone. Now i am in preorder status.
But during checkour i did not see anything about a free vr headset.

I preordered from Google store and got an email a few days later about being eligible for the headset. If your in preorder status hopefully you'll get an email soon too. Never mentioned at checkout.

There was a claim form online at the time of the pre-order, not sure if it's still around as I think it was pulled quite quickly. No in total it was £100 Samsung voucher, £100 play voucher and a pair of buds 2 pro.

I purchased buds pro 2 with trade in and a £50 samsung voucher. Paying 75£ on top of that.
Have got another £100 for that claim too.
Totalling 200. Like I said, Samsung doesn't stop giving for their fold 4 pre orders buys.
