HTC one m8 has no OS - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

Hi,
So i wanted to update my phone to the GPE 6.0 android version, so i followed a tutorial and everything went fine. I had it rooted and turned s-off and used twrp ,but it didnt flash the rom. So by accident i wiped everything and now i have nothing but twrp.
My PC doesnt recognize my phone while in twrp, i can put a file on my sd card like i did with my ROM but everytime i install it , it fails.
I honestly dont know what to do and looked on the internet but nothing matches my problem because i can only use twrp.
Can anyone help me with a step by step tutorial or something. I just want to flash the GPE 6.0 android version on my phone.
EDIT:
I have managed to flash Cyanogenmod on it annd it is working now. still want to get 6.0 GPE version on it. gonna try it and keep this post informed.

HTC One M8 - Stuck at Boot Screen after SkyDragon Flash.

Hello Everyone,
I am having an issue with my M8.
I decided to try out SkyDragon, give it a shot.
I downloaded the ROM, put it on my SDcard. Flashed Philz 6.25 recovery, did NOT make a nandroid backup (I know i'm an idiot),then proceeded to flash the rom via Philz.
I flashed the Rom, and followed all the instructions, I then rebooted the phone. Still stuck at the bootscreen. I read the Q&A and tried to flash the rom multiples times. Still stuck on the boot screen. I have an unlocked bootloader with S-ON.
I just got this phone a few months ago and I am unable to take it out of this state. Could use some help. Thank you.
Is your firmware up to date? Not sure about Skydragon specifically, but long boot times (along with broken WiFi) is often a symptom of outdated firmware.
Let the phone alone for 10 minutes or so, and see if it eventually boots, and isn't actually "stuck" (but rather just takes a REALLY long time).
To flash a different ROM, adb push it to internal storage, or put in on your SD with a USB card reader connected to your computer. Then boot into recovery and flash.

Hello,
I've actually tried flashing another ROM "Android HD Revolution" I believe. The phone shows the HTC Screen along with some red text at the bottoms saying "this build is for developer purposes only....". The phone then stays on the HTC screen for ~3mins then reboots and continues to boot loop.
You just need to flash the new firmware that is found in the sky dragon OP.
Easiest way is to use fastboot. Google fastboot firmware m8. Lots of guides out there. It's only a few commands.
Edit: Should have asked if you are s-off. That will make a difference in your ability to flash new firmware.

Hello Thanks for the reply.
However, I am currently S-ON, I have searched ways to achieve S-OFF but they all require installing a ROM. However, I cannot flash any rom, I will just get the bootloop. If you could advise on a method that would work for my situation, I would be very grateful.

Start with fastboot getvar all command in fastboot/bootloader, put the result here (delete serialno and imei no.) .. then we'll see whether is there any stock ROM available for your device.

You needed to make sure you have the latest GPE software, s-off and supper cid... Also you need to know and have ADB/FASTBOOT installed on your PC.. All which can be found throughout all of the various threads.... Right now you soft bricked your device and needed to return to stock... And stay the process over.

You don't "need" the latest gpe software. The rom runs fine on the latest sense firmware.

Issue Resolved!
Hello Everyone.
The issue is resolved. Through many flashes, wipes and commands. Its done. I was able to flash the rom, let the rom sit for ~20mins, and it finally booted up into Lollipop. I now have no wifi. However, I should be able to follow the FAQ to get S-OFF and fix my wifi!. Thanks team. I really appreciate it.

[Q] Bootloop on GPE converted M8 after update (help!)

I recently tried updating my (previously functional) HTC One M8 I converted to a Google Play Edition phone. I hadn't realized the version of the GPE RUU was rooted, so after using Android's stock updater, the phone is busted. I've been tearing my hair out for the last six hours trying to flash something or get it to work in a way that's acceptable, but I can't seem to get access to it.
I should note that once the RUU was updated to GPE, I didn't bother reinstalling TWRP, so I'm also stuck on a stock recovery.
There are a couple of significant issues beyond the phone just not starting up. When I go into the bootloader, it states that it's missing OP6BDIAG.zip, and that no images were found. It then says a few more things in separate lines so quickly I can't really read them. I think they're either .exe or .zip files.
MTP is not currently working, I can't access the file structure. ADB and Fastboot are giving me errors, saying they can't find the device. I've pushed FACTORY RESET in the bootloader with no difference at all. I've gone into the recovery and wiped data, cache, everything. My NANDroid backups are all of Sense, because I have only converted this phone to GPE a week ago.
I'm not a software developer, I'm not an Android systems expert, and in all honesty when it comes down to it I'm skilled enough to read a manual and know usually what I'm saying when I type in command prompts. I need some help. I've officially spent more time trying to figure out how to fix this than converting the phone in the first place.
Some more info: For those of you who don't know, to do the conversion I've done, my phone is unlocked, has s-off, I've changed the CID to google's, and I changed the RUU to the stock android from a member of this forum's instructions. The bootloader is still HTC, and it is running the HTC GPE RUU, not a Nexus or other RUU.
Update: I got TWRP on my phone! ADB wasn't communicating with my device so I looked up how to do it all through fastboot. It's turned my phone into an MTP device and I can access everything. My NANdroid backups to Sense were deleted when my RUU updated it to a Play Edition phone, so I'm out of luck there, but I assume I can just use TWRP tools to get my phone working again? What's my next step?

No official RUU is pre-rooted, and unfortunately Lollipop has been very rough on root users. It isn't like the old days when it would just blow away your root files and move on.
If you want to run GPE, get the official RUU and try it again. Just keep in mind that OTAs will break if you root it.
That worked, after a few failures. Thank you.
Please help me I have the exact same problem. How did you manage to install TWRP?

Hope I haven't bricked my HTC M8 yet. Need help.

I was trying to install custom rom on my unlocked HTC One M8 and I probably messed up somewhere along the way.
My phone is rooted and S-off. Its got twrp version 2.7.0.2 (if it matters).
I was trying to install skydragon gpe ROM.
This is how my process went : First I backed up my current rom on an SD card (The HTC version with sense and lollipop) and did a factory reset on my phone and tried to install Skydragon for M8.
Soon as I started the process, it said install failed. This is the image i57.tinypic.com/15h6iq.jpg
I tried another rom. Same thing. Failed. I've tried some 5 or 6 roms so far. Nothing works.
To make things worse, when I restore my previous backup (HTC Sense version), it does go through all the way, says its successful.
But, on reboot, the phone is stuck in the HTC One logo and does not proceed at all.
Now my phone isn't usable at all.
Any suggestion helps.
Please help.
Or you need to update the firmware or you need to update the TWRP ! 2.7 is very old !
How do I update twrp without an OS on the phone.
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new to all this.
I tried to update my firmware but all the instructions I found on the web needed an OS installed on the phone.
May be I'm doing it wrong. I have mac to work with or a windows computer with no USB 2.0 ( I only have 3.0 USB). And those instructions say its not 3.0 compatible.
Could someone please post a link that could help me. I tried but could not find one.

It worked!
Finally !!! Don't know how I did it but it worked. I somehow managed to update the twrp recovery (which was what was apparently hindering the OS install in the first place). And then I went ahead and flash my custom rom. And this time it worked flawlessly.
Thanks guys

SOLVED Stock HTC M9 - No navigation softkeys after failed OTA update

Hi folks,
I bought a stock German Vodafone HTC M9 on Android 5.1 with software 2.10.410.1 HTC sense 7.0 and everything had been going fine until Friday, my battery died and when I plugged it back in it looks like it tried to update to Marshmallow, it looks like that failed but my main problem is that now I have no navigation softkeys, it looks like HTC sense isn't loading up as I have no themes either. I tried an OTA update (fails on the "System partition has unexpected contents" issue). Since that happened I've tried a soft reset, hard reset, install an RUU.exe ( get correct rom update utility, Error 131), so far no joy. I was considering installing TWRP and trying to go back to a stock recovery (I was talking to HTC support and they want me to send my phone to a repair centre, I'd prefer to try fix it myself). My question is, would reverting to a stock recovery even bring back my softkeys or am I barking up the wrong tree? I have unlocked the bootloader now and I will probably end up S-off and playing around with custom ROMs in future but for now I just want my phone to work, it's been a weekend and I'm getting phone withdrawals. I'm in work now so just browsing the forums and seeing what other people are doing but nobody seems to have the same softkey issue as me?
Jamie
Fixed!!!!
Great success! Just in case anyone comes looking for solutions to problems similar to mine and wants to revert to stock firmware without S-OFF and finds an empty thread here's what I did ....
The way I went about it you'll need a micro SD (larger than 4GB I think, no maximum size according to Flippys instructions)
I followed this guide from KingInTheNorth up until the point where I had TWRP installed, this guide will get you through downloading files, tools and drivers unlocking bootloader and flashing TWRP. I DID NOT install SU as I didn't want to root my phone just restore it to stock so I could upgrade to Marshmallow through HTCs OTA update that originally broke my phone.

I followed Flippy498s guide to getting back to stock recovery (under the TWRP backups tab), this sheet also lets you download stock recoverys to match your firmware because Flippy seems to be a legend.

Team Win the folks who make TWRP make a fantastic tool, I started out trying to fix my broken phone and finished out wanting to try new ROMS and playing around to see what else I can do, at least now I have some idea where to start!
Have fun!

I Can't use my SIM and other problems

Hello, I bought a HTC One M9 with the original room, but I was trying to root the cellphone, because the speackers are too low, I was trying to install TWRP For Dolby Atmos,
When I was in the TWRP recovery, I install the supersu zip, but the cellphone was stuck in the HTC logo (First normal HTC Logo, next like 3 seconds of Telcel logo and again the HTC One logo) , I was trying to do a factory reset but in the normal recovery thats option wasnt there, now i have installed Revolution Remix and its everything fine, but I cant use my Sim, isn´t detected, and when I plug my cellphone to the PC, I can´t look the internal and sd Storage,
What can I do?
(Sorry my english, I´m mexican)
You can try Resurection Remix from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69486171&postcount=120 or you can find the RUU for your CID and go back to stock. The problem with supersu on stock roms is that you need to use a older version v2.65 or it will boot loop, you can then update it from the play store.

I Tried that room, it works fine, but thats the problem, that rom doesn´t work the sim slot, i want to return to stock, but I am to... noob in this, I dont know what is CID o MID,
In this moment i´m installing ViperOne, but it install and when its turning on the cellphone, it goes to the recovery again, I reinstall the VoiperOne and the recovery restarts...
Your best bet is not to try another custom rom but the stock RUU.. You need to find your CID, http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/guide-return-m9-to-100-stock-s-off-t3091730. You need to use fastboot.exe, GET the proper RUU for your phone.

I was reading about the CID & MID, and I know the cellphone MID, two questions,
Can I change the MID without any problem? And what RUU I'll download? There is a lot of them

There is no need for fastboot and the guide you linked is a bit outdated. Besides, getting 100% back to stock isn't needed in this situation. (Re-locking a modified M9 can actually mean that it won't boot anymore and that you won't be able to re-unlock it, again, if you don't fulfill the correct requirements.)
Instructions with only those steps that are really needed can be found in my google sheet (which is linked in my sticky thread in the general section or in my signature).

The problem with the sim card not being detected has already been covered several times. Please use the search function next time. A custom rom based on the 3.35 firmware is incompatible with any other 3.x firmware if x is not equal to 35. The reason is the boot image of the rom. For sense-based roms you need to re-flash the boot.img of your phone's stock rom. For non-sense roms like CM or RR you need to flash thicklizard's mono kernel.
