Hello,
So today I got a nice surprise. It looks like I can't boot into TWRP recovery no matter what, but I can in Stock one.
Yesterday I changed /data filesystem from ext4 to f2fs and the ROM flashed works fine.
Everything works fine but not the recovery.
If I try to boot into it then it shows me the TWRP logo for 3 seconds and after that the phone reboots into ROM. If I chose from reboot menu to boot in recovery then it becomes an infinte loop trying to boot in recovery and rebooting over and over again.
Any idea what can it be!?
Other recoveries cannot acces /data.
Try this:
Open Odin 3.07 and uncheck everything except f.reset time;
connect phone and flash TWRP;
when you see the word "Reset" in the status window, remove use cable, remove battery, replace battery, use button to boot into recovery.

Hi Guys,
Used the ROM Toolbox to change my boot animation several times successfully (over numerous months). Last change, on the next reboot, I get the Google splash screen, then black. The phone actually boots fine, but you can't properly wake the screen any more. Nothing appears to happen, until you press the power button again, and then you see the screen-off animation very briefly (old style TV turning off) then black again.
Clearing cache/dalvik/etc in CWM recovery doesn't do anything.
Fastboot and recovery work fine. Problem is you can't do anything about the bootanimation.zip in CWM Recovery and there isn't much you can do in fastboot either. Plus my ADB debugging wasn't turned on and you can't easily do this without the screen so I can't modify files. Its definitely the boot animation that caused it though.
I fixed it when I searched for a recovery that allows file management - TWRP http://teamw.in/project/twrp2
Used fastboot to flash this to the recovery partition ( sudo ./fastboot flash recovery ../../Downloads/openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-maguro.img )
Then booted into that recovery. The file is in /system/media but don't forget you have to mount the system partition in the recovery rom before you can see anything under /system.
For me the old bootanimation.zip.old was there so I renamed the current to .bak and then the .old back to .zip
Reboot all good. In case this helps anyone!
Thanks!
Just now this happened to me and was able to reboot into TWRP2 but did not know how I would rename bootanimation, simples: mount system and use recovery file manager under advanced.
Did not know bootanimation could do such a halt in phone boot.
My wife's phone gets stuck when booting into recovery. It had 2.7.something installed, I put 2.8.3.0 on it with Odin and just tried 2.5.0.2 because some older posts suggested that.
Any suggestions? The blue screen that says teamwin shows up, but nothing else. Something potentially worth noting is that her phone always has a notification that says her SD card is blank or has an unsupported file system.
Flash newest recovery again and see if it still hangs. If it does, pull battery and reboot into recovery again. If it still hangs flash full firmware and try again. For the SD card, you might have to format it
My phone unexpectly turned off and then it entered into a bootscreen loop.
I just tried to flash a stock rom, so I could just erease everything and make it like new.
The problem is that after any flash, or any new rom I install, it keeps into this bootscreen loop. I read that I need to go into the recovery mode and make a Wipe, o data factory reset, etc.
The problem here is that I can't get into the recovery mode in non of the roms i've used. I even tried the last Phils recovery (philz_touch_6.07.9-jflteusc.tar.md5 ) and it dindn't work either (Even unchecking auto reboot and trying to enter to recovery mode after flash)
I press Vol +, Home, and Power, and it shows me this:
Blue line: RECOVERY BOOTING...
Yellow line: Set Warranty Bit: recovery
THIS IS IN EVERY ROM I'VE TRIED.
Then it get full of different colors pixels, and then just restart, and all the looping starts again.
I can't show you the photos I made because I'm a new user in xda forums.
Please help me!
Hi,
A few days ago my GT-N7100 started to behave weirdly. Phone was stuck in a boot loop. I tried to open recovery but it wasn't booting into recovery mode.
I flash TWRP recovery using Odin and found that the internal storage size was showing 0 MB. So I formatted the Internal storage and then repaired it using TWRP.
Then I tried to install a custom rom in it. After the installation was successful, i wiped cache and factory reset the phone but phone was still stuck in boot loop.
I turned on my phone in recovery and found out that it /data size was 0MB. So I installed a pit file using Odin to resize it. It was successful. Then I installed a Stock rom 4.4.2. Now the phone turns on and shuts down after a few moments.
I think there is not boot loader which can boot the OS (Just my understanding).
Please help.
Thanks,

Hello,
my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini with bliss ROM stated to turn off spontaneously and sometimes it didn't start again (the Samsung logo appeared and then the phone went dead, it was impossible to enter recovery mode, download mode shut down itself immediately). After several tries, it booted normally. This happened again - and I found out it was a bad power button, which I replaced. Now it is possible to enter both recovery mode and download mode with no problems. However the main OS doesn't boot up. So I tried to do a full wipe in recovery mode and CWM recovery rebooted the phone, when it was trying to format /data partition. So I tried to flash stock firmware with ODIN. It also didn't boot up, but at least the stock recovery gave me a hint what is wrong. When I perform full wipe, I get error: "E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata"
I tried to flash the phone again, this time with a PIT file and let ODIN to reformat the partitions. However, no change. How can I fix it?
