I'm curious if there is a stiffer/stronger silicone case out there. I had a hard silicone case for my ipod touch and miss it. The htc silicone case is just to flimsy and I'm not wanting a hard case never had any luck with them

What you want is a TPU case. It's a different material than silicon, somewhat stiffer and tighter fitting (maybe a bit less shock absorbent?), but pretty much superior in every respect imo... It's still a soft case tho, you still stretch it around the EVO to fit it in and whatnot, and you could bend it if you wanted (only difference is it snaps back to it's original shape much quicker than silicon).
It seems to have more grip on your hand but it slides out of your pocket a lot easier, a LOT easier, and unlike silicon cases it attracts almost no dust and lint whatsoever! My HTC/OEM silicon case (bought at the Sprint store) attracted so much lint and crap in my pocket that within a day of cleaning it all up I'd have this crusty line of crap all around the edges, it was pretty irritating. None of that w/my TPU case, at all!
The TPU cases also feel a lot slimmer on your hand even tho they're not that much thinner than the silicon one, they're still thick enough so that the camera is recessed below it and fully protected (most of them are anyway, there's some thinner ones)... I guess part of the reason they feel more svelte is that the edges are more rounded off and not as squre-ish as the HTC silicon one.
Button press feel is also much better w/these, probably because of the tighter fit, they actually improve the handling of the power button if you ask me. The side edges of these cases don't move at all unless you pull on it tightly, totally different feel compared to the silicon ones which loosen up and from just swiping your finger across the screen you can end up stretching the edge out.
In short, they're just superior in every way, just get one and you'll thank me later. All you have to do is choose one of the different ones out there based on aesthetics...
Amzer sells one w/an Argyle pattern on the back, that's what I've got right now, it's available on Amazon and off Amzer's site for around the same price ($9-10), it's semi-translucent and the pattern is actually a lot more subdued and doesn't stand out nearly as much as you'd think from looking at the online pics. I actually like the pattern, if anything I'd say the shade of the skin isn't quite smoked/black, it has a slight hint of amber/brown...
That's the only thing that bothers me about it. I'm gonna be ordering a plain black one along w/a red one from DCMugen on Ebay, he's selling some made by Epik that look to be the exact same thing w/o the Argyle pattern, and they're cheaper to boot ($3.50, or $6.50 for two). I can get you a link if you can't find 'em... I think they have 'em in blue and clear and a few other colors too.
Just don't fall for the cheap off-brand Argyle ones on Ebay, you can tell them apart easily because unlike the two I've mentioned those have one large cutout for the camera/LED/speaker, whereas these other ones have individual cutouts and from what I've read they're a bit thicker. Those other Ebay ones also have a large silly cutout for the fingernail hole on the battery lid that you use to pry it off, seems like a goof on the mold/design.
If you don't care for the Argyle pattern on the Amzer one I'd get the Epik ones from DCMugen, I think the colors/tint on those are closer to the photos. Here's a link to the red one, you can click on the seller for the other colors and the package pricing for two or whatever.
If you're not into the translucent look of either of those TPU cases you can always grab the matte black one at www.evocases.net There's a thread for those right here at XDA where misticjeff has even thrown in a $1 code discount for XDA members. The sides/front are still glossy (perhaps a bit glossier than the translucent ones, judging by the photos), back's matte. The frost one is no longer available.
On the thread about those some people were complaining about the feel of the power button, seems it's not as great as the Amzer/Epik ones, some people resorted to sticking a lil' bit of tape in between to make it easier to press... One thing the evocases.net does have going for it is the slightly raised ring around the camera, which I guess might protect it more in the long run... Even tho they're all thick enough that the lens is recessed (as well as the screen obviously).
My 2 cents, hope it helps... I'm loving the feel of these TPU cases tho, I'll probably never get a silicon case for a phone again.
Whew, that second post got pretty long... A picture or two would've made it easier to explain I guess. Lemme know if you're interested in the Argyle one and I can grab my camera and post some pics of how it really looks, there doesn't seem to be many pictures out there of the actual case ON the phone (for either of them really).
I was gonna wait 'till I had the Epik ones so I could photograph them all side by side but I can take pics of the Amzer Argyle one in advance and post 'em up. Like I said, I actually dig the Argyle pattern because it's pretty subdued, it's more of an etch or a shade (it actually feels like an etch on the inside of the case), rather than a print. The only thing that bothers me about it is the overall shade/tint.
I probably wouldn't even be ordering the Epik one if I wasn't also ordering some of those clear battery doors that are about to go on sale... I think those plain Epik cases w/the clear battery door will look very slick.
Best buy might have what you are looking for. My only gripe is the buttons feel hard to push. But give it a shot (most BB will let you try on the case) it might be what you are looking for.
Seidio Innocase Active Cased - Limited Edition
After looking around the net for some time I bought the Seido Innocase Active Limited Edition.
Can't post a link but search Amazon for the title in my thread.
It's a semi-hard silicon cover with a siliconized hard plastic that exo-skeleton. Perfect combo in my opinion. My one complaint is that the edges on the hard plastic piece have the siliconized coating peeling off a little but I think I may have gotten a defective unit as I haven't seen anyone else complaining about it yet.
Also got the ClearTouch screen cover anti-glare version. I've had this cover on a few phones and it's also the best for reducing glare and fingerprints while maintaining clarity. Kinda hard to install without getting dust underneath but once you get it on right it looks and feels great. ClearTouch is sold by boxwave and is on Amazon.
Hybrid Flexi Skin Cover
Has anyone tried the Hybrid Flexi Skin cover from Daydeal.com? I'm also looking for a tighter case than my OEM silicone skin I got from Sprint. I just don't like the way the sides become flimsy and flaps off the phone when I swipe my screen. I'm looking at this case:

As I said in my previous post, TPU rocks as a material for cases/skins... I don't blame ya for skipping right over it tho.

TPU doesn't attract dust at all, it's much tighter/rigid so the side edges don't flop out at all, but it's still got plenty of give (so it'll absorb a fall/bump), you could bend 'em in half if you wanted... Only difference is it'll snap back into form in a second unlike silicon which will probably just bounce around in an arc.
TPU also seems just as grippy on your hand, if not more so, but it slides in and out of pockets way way easier, and most of the TPU cases I've seen feel way more svelte in the hand than the OEM/HTC silicon scene... Probably in part because they're a tad thinner, probably also because the edges are more rounded off and not as blocky. Physically I'm sure it isn't a huge difference, but it sure feels like it.
This thread has some further discussion on TPU cases, it's really hard to judge them based on pictures alone, I was very pleasantly surprised with mine.
So I tried googling the title you posted and came up with this, only place I could find it at. Looks pretty interesting, seems the back is hard plastic and the edges are TPU. If you dig that honeycomb pattern I'd say go for it...
Altho if it's actual plastic it might get scratched up over time Looks like it's also clear/translucent, clear plastic usually shows every single flaw... A plain TPU case wouldn't have that issue. I'm just not seeing the advantage over 100% TPU, which are also like $3.50 vs $14 (look for DCMugen's Epik/TPU cases on Ebay).
OTOH that red back + black edges on the video in the link I pasted before looks pretty sweet... The rest look kinda gaudy imo ('cept for the all black) but red/black looks really different, I like it.
P.S. This is the Honeycomb (Smoke & Red) combination I was alluding to... There's also Honeycomb (Smoke & Smoke) and plain Black & Smoke (no honeycomb pattern, solid black sides). The red is the most distinct imo, those are all probably better in the long run than the clear back (less forgiving).

Tip for the next time you gotta install a screen protector and its the hard type: get some scotch tape, put it on the non adhesive side of the screen protector so you can peel it back without touching anything, and then grab another piece of tape and start taping the dust out of the screen or adhesive side of the protector and you'll be dust free in no time. Friends came over cuz they all needed new protectors and i did 4 phones in 20 minutes.

Got it off of EBay for about $8.50 ($4.50 for case + $4.00 shipping/handling) from Daydeal as opposed to going to their site and paying $13.99.

I went with the smoke on smoke honeycomb case and got it today. It's darker so I think it'll hide any scratching that my occur on the backing. I agree with you on the clear backs when I first saw them, but the back seems scratch resistant (only time will tell)

Diztronic Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 Matte Back Black *Rev 2* TPU Case Review
I have had this case for about a month now and I am writing this review as there doesn't appear to be any particular review of the case for our phone. *to view a larger image just click on the thumbnail*
Delivery/Packaging |9/10| & Pricing |8/10| :
I ordered the case from the Diztronic website so it was delivered from their main facilities. I live outside of the US so I had to choose the "USPS First Class Mail" method which was $2.50 CDN. The package arrived in my mail box close to 2 weeks, which was a longer wait than I hoped for but it was noted that international shipping would take 7-30 days. The package itself came in a grey plastic envelope with the shipping information labelled on it. Inside the package was the case wrapped in a clear plastic with the logo label and a cut piece of cardboard that was placed to help retain the shape of the envelope. When taking the case out of the plastic, there is an image of the phone printed on a piece of cardboard within the case to show what the case will look like on the phone. The packaging the case came in was more than secure enough to provide protection when being shipped (there were no tears or faults in the packaging at all).
The pricing and availability of the case will vary at the time you read this. Although, the cost for the case itself was a decent $10 for what you get, by far not the most affordable however. I used the discount code "XDA" to get an extra $0.99 off the order which was convenient. It would have been nice if they included a screen protector like they do with some of the other phone cases they offer.
Installation & Fit |10/10| :
Putting the T989 in to the case is extremely easy since it's a one piece, TPU style case, so there are no tools or attachments needed. My approach in putting on the case was by starting off with placing the top of the phone (where the headphone jack is) in the case since the top of the case has 'lip' that goes slightly over the top bezel compared to the bottom. Then I just pushed in the rest of the phone in the case making sure the sides of the case did not catch the buttons, which was not a problem at all, right until the bottom of the phone was securely in place.
The case itself is extremely slim and the fit is almost close to perfect, every side of the case is snug to the phone, however, note that I am using the case on top of the body skin I reviewed here. So for anyone who was wondering, yes, this case will work with a body skin applied on the phone. The case is so firm in fact that even the left and right sides of the case do not move as easily when sliding your fingers towards them moving outwards , however, this may change in time... I just haven't experienced it as of yet.
Build Quality |10/10| :
This particular case has a very premium feel, there is a certain weight added to the phone with the case on. It also may have to due with the matte back option I chose for the case. The feel of the matte texture finish is almost identical to the feel of the Razer gaming mouse I have (if you have used a Razer mouse, you would understand what I mean). It has a very paper-like characteristic yet is soft to touch. The matte finish is carried from the outside of the phone to the inside as well which adds to the overall quality of the case (it is also provides a softer surface for the phone compared to the raw plastic). The benefits of having the matte finish is that it is less prone to fingerprints, the downside is that if the matte part gets scratched it will be very noticeable. The matte finish is smooth making it easy to take the phone out of the pocket.
I'd like to mention however, the matte finish is not applied to the outer border/rim of the case as that part is left glossy. It appears as if the case was made with two pieces which may be the instance since the separation between the glossy/matte finish is symmetrical around the circumference of the case. I believe this was done because it is the area that would get worn out the quickest and it probably was easier to manufacture that way. In my opinion, I think the glossy rim for the case was a great idea, it definitely looks aesthetically better for the whole front of the phone. Also, the glossy finish offers a better grip to the case, since the matte finish may be too smooth to grip at times.
Now, when it comes to the cut-outs of the case, they are placed accordingly for every necessary part of the phone. The cutouts for the power button/volume-rocker is perfectly placed and provides a substantial amount of room which provide easy access for any finger size. The cutouts for the headphone jack and micro-USB port are evenly spaced out which leaves enough room for anything that you would like to connect. The headphone jack of my Shure earbuds which is somewhat wide, fit without a problem, at the same time the stock USB cable that came with the phone fits just as expected with the case on (I have provided pictures above with the cables attached below) . Regarding the USB cut-out it was noted that in revision 2 of the case they have enlarged the cutout to leave room for the bottom microphone (I have not experienced any call echo with the case on, even on the stock T989 ROM). The cutout for the top microphone is also precisely placed, there are no issues.
The back cutouts for the case are just as accurate as the cutouts on the side of the case. The camera cut-out does not obstruct the lens of the camera or the LED flash at all. I particularly like how close the cut-out for the rear speaker is, it's nicely placed at the same time it does not reduce the volume produced from the speaker. I'd also like to mention that the case somewhat lifts up the rear of the phone around the speaker area which lets some sound still leak out when the back of the phone is faced down. Lastly, for anyone who is wondering about the reception quality when using this case, I have found no issues during use which is expected since TPU isn't a material that interferes with radio signals.
Protection Quality |8/10| :
The most important part of any case is the protection it offers and this case in my opinion provides more than satisfactory protection for day to day use. Due to its slimness it may not have the drop protection that cases like the Otterbox offer, yet, the TPU material used is particularly good at protecting the phone from average height drops such as from a computer table to stomach height. The case is thick enough to protect the camera area as it lifts the glass part off the surface, this also applies to the front glass of the phone as the rim of the case provides about 1 mm of clearance when setting the phone down on it's front. The rim of the case is formed perfectly over the edge of the front right before the glass, so if you have a screen protector it will not lifted/bubble up.As for scratch protection goes, the case definitely prevents scratches to the back housing of the phone. The disadvantage with this case is that since there are cut-outs for the buttons, dust/sand particles can enter sides of the case which can cause scratches to the bezel of the phone (which is the major reason I bought a body skin to be used right underneath the case). If you are worried about scratches on the phone, the combination of the body skin with this case offers amazing scratch protection if you are willing to spend the money for it.
Overall |9/10| :
If you are looking for a sleek looking slim case to protect your T989, the Diztronic TPU case is definitely a great option! The build quality of this case is notably impressive and there's no questioning to why this case is somewhat pricey compared to the TPU alternatives on Ebay. You definitely get a premium case, particularly with its Matte back finish. As for protection goes, the case offers the best balance between protection and keeping the slim profile of the T989, the TPU qualities with this case is more than enough in protecting your phone from everyday drops. Overall, the Diztronic Matte Back Black *Rev 2* TPU case is definitely a product I recommend for any GS2 T989 user, there are enough noteworthy features that this case offers for you to get one if looking for a case.

I've been running d30 for about a year and 1 month and the case isn't dirty or yellow (it's white) and it still stands today with the many falls

I have the same case and its the best case I have ever owned. I drop my phone quite a bit and phone/case still look perfect. Fits great on device, and has a nice non slippery feel that does not attract dust. My wife has the pink version and its the same quality but a little slicker, she really likes it too.

I have the matte black diz rev 2. I bought my t989 at tmobile store and wanted titanium but was told they aren't made anymore. Now this was from corp office. So I got white. The diz covers it nice black with a little white showing fitting for ICS . I really don't care if it scratches it. I May buy New housing anyway!

Prologue:
Going to have a good ol' fashion case off here for the Nexus 5. At first I was excited, thinking that I would actually take measurements and pictures, but then I remembered that I'm too lazy for that kind of stuff. Therefore, this will only be a personal comparison with color-codie goodness. A little warning that already I'm biased towards Acase because I've used a superleggera pro for my iPhone 4s (never going back to Apple) and after two years of dropping, that phone looks like its brand new (with loads of finger prints :good: ). Besides the protection, I also just love the smooth feel of matte...
Summary:
Both cases have their advantages, but personally I went with Acase.
Main Points:
If you didn't know, both of these cases are supposedly dual-layered cases. This means that these cases have two pieces to their design. Whether that actually adds to the protection and shock absorption or not, I have no idea. What I do know is that psychologically, I feel like my phone has better protection.
Superleggera Pro:
Silicone Case with a Poly-carbonate shell
Nice smooth feel but super slippery.
Example: Case face down, back up. Try to slide your hand against the back. Barely any friction or resistance when sliding my hand across.
Good enough lift in the back to protect the camera but no extra corner stands like the Slim Armor for airflow. Great lift in the front as well.
[*]Clicky feedback when pressing volume and power buttons. You can press the power button without accidently pressing the volume buttons too.

Slim Armor:
Hard TPU with a Poly-carbonate Shell
Nice smooth feel, making it a little slippery but not too slippery.
Example: Case face down, back up. Try to slide your hand against the back. I felt resistance from my hand sticking to the case.
[*]Nice lift in the back for airflow and nice lift in the front to protect the screen.
[*]Buttons lose their clicky feedback. Big problem for me. Also had some occasional issues with locking the screen since the amount of force needed to press the power button makes you also press the volume buttons if you have your finger there.
Spigen branding on the lower part of the back of the case and on the right side. Looks cooler than the Acase branding but who cares really.
Review:
To me. dual-layer means two different layers put together to make one great case. With the Slim Armor, I was expecting silicone plus the poly-carbonate like the Acase I was already used to. As far as silicon vs hard tpu for the base part of the case, I haven't read or seen anything that sets a clear winner.
With the positioning of the second layer of poly-carbonate Acase wins here. I mean when I drop my phone it hits the corners or at least near the corners more often than it lands perfectly on its side. With the Slim Armor, the hard shell poly-carbonate pretty much just covers the side and the corners are covered only by the hard tpu. Spigen claims that there are "air-pockets" in those corners in their advertising but I don't know how effective these "air-pockets" are. Anyway, If I wanted hard tpu to protect my corners, I'd just get a hard tpu case. The Acase has all around dual-layering except for the buttons and cut-outs like the headphone slot. With the Acase I feel I'm getting the true dual-layered protection I'm looking for where both the hard shell and the silicone cover the corners for that added and padded protection.
Button feedback is another pet-peeve/preference for me. Acase, since its silicone, has perfect feedback. Easy to press down and you feel and hear that click. Spigen, no feedback...at all. Thanks to hard tpu, its hard to press your buttons down. Now I'm not saying that its impossible to press the button down but the resistance of hard tpu not only kills your clicky feedback but it also can make you squeeze your phone hard enough to press the volume at the same time as the power button.
Both cases pick up on finger prints pretty easily. The Acase can also pick up on dust, lint, etc with its silicone. Personally, I can put up with this for a better feeling case. After a little back and forth case swapping, I realized that the Acase has more lift than the Slim armor in the front Due to the thickness of the silicone at that point. The case also wraps around the edges more (something I liked) without making my screen protector peel up at the edges.
Both cases have plenty of space for the micro-usb and speaker cut-outs. However, with most cases there are issues with the headphone port. My tiny apple headphone jacks fit perfectly for both cases, however my bulky (1 cm diameter) speaker jack only fit with the Acase. Since the Acase uses stretchy silicone, I could push the headphone in at the expense of stretching the silicone a little. With the Slim Armor, there was no way to get it in without taking off the case at the top. (I will note that its easier to take the top part of the Slim Armor off than it is to take the Superleggera Pro)
Width and length are the same for both cases, however the Acase is slightly thicker. For me, this means more protection at the cost of a barely noticeable additional thickness. Both cases feel great in the hand, I just felt like the Superleggera Pro had more pro's and a better feel than the Slim Armor.
Edit:
Just got a chance to test the Acase with a wireless charger (CHOETECH Stadium) and it works! The charger isn't that special, so I'm going to assume that most chargers should work with the Acase. I still recommend you conduct your own research on wireless chargers and compare it to the CHOETECH so you can confirm that whatever you buy will work as well. I'm not supporting CHOETECH in any way, just stating the charger I used to test the ability to wirelessly charge through the Acase.

Pro Tip: If you wish to remove the branding on the Acase, borrow a cotton ball and a dab of nail polish remover from your girlfriend. Lightly rub the lettering and it should come right off.

The had no idea about the removal technique, thanks. Not sure if I want to do it or not though. The branding is like a classy tramp stamp for my phone, but having it smooth and clean might be pretty nice too.

Clicky Feedback on spigen
I've got 2 different revisions of the spigen slim armor. as you can see the only difference is the way the pads for the keys are attached. The one with only one connection on the top side have a very big ce "clicky" feedback, the other one is very difficult to press. So you could try to cut the bottom connection and see if it gets better.
I also got the Acase case. One thing that bothers me is that the inner silicon layer is too soft, I wish it was tpu instead. The bottom lift of the phone is not reinforced high enough by the hard plastic shell, making the inner layer too loose.
I'd love to see an owner's picture of the Acase. ☺

Great review... But holy hell that was a lot of Comic Sans! That font always make me think of this picture.
Just got my Acase today and it is much thicker than I imagined it would be... But the bulkiness is kind of nice and the phone still feels great in hand so far. I ordered mine from CTCstore on Amazon and it was listed as Slim Superleggera PRO but my packaging only says Superleggera PRO... I emailed the vendor for clarification but am wondering if the op is referencing the slim version or regular, or if they are actually the sane thing.

To me I thought that the spigen slim armor felt like a dollar store product. Its fits OK but is just hard and cheap feeling. The volume buttons were sorta hard to push. I absolutely love my acase.

Is the power button the same design (only connected on one side) on the new revision? Spigen allegedly sent me the revised TPU but my buttons look the same as the original design. I actually cannot tell the difference between my original one and the new one. I think Spigen might have messed up and sent me the original revision as a replacement.
To keep this on topic, I also have both cases as well. I actually liked the functionality of the Superleggera best (clicky buttons, corner coverage, etc) but to me the look and quality of materials of the spigen were significantly better than the superleggera. See I would have said the superleggera was the generic cheepo case and the spigen was the high end case. Just shows how widely peoples opinions can vary on two identical items.

I have both of these cases as well, and they are both excellent choices. I wish the clear case was a tad thicker, but I like that my phone's back cover is viewable through the clear case (so pretty!) and it doesn't add extra bulk.
Unlike some silicon cases, it has a smooth finish that won't stick to your pocket (it also might slide out of your hand easily enough, if your hand is damp).
There is a cutout for the flash, so I've not noticed any issues with it. The covers for the headphone jack and usb connector are a nice touch as well, but the usb cover on mine seems to not want to sit completely flush. Not a huge deal to me, even with OCD.
I like that the clear case covers the bottom edge of the phone, whereas the matte case leaves it exposed. The bottom edge of my phone already seems to have some wear because of the exposure.
That said, I really do like the feel and color of the matte case (I have red), and it fits a little more snugly that the clear case, IMHO.
I'd like to see a heavier duty case, something like a Griffin Survivor style case with 2-part rubber and hard plastic component. Unfortunately for now, the Nillikin cases aren't going to afford your phone much more than scratch protection but they are nice to hold and are better than nothing! The Rearth Ringke Fusion case is very good, fits well, I find it comfortable and of a durable material. Helps with the power button as the case plastic makes it pop out a bit and it can be pressed with a lot of ease.

I've read there are issues with the Rearth Ringke Fusion case and the camera's flash. Have you experienced problems in that area?
The Ringke clear case creates a nasty halo on photos whenever you use the flash --- much worse than the Nilkin (halo is barely visible). I still prefer it over the Nilkin case because it feels much sturdier: like it'll actually protect my phone *if* I drop it. It doesn't have a USB port cover on it unlike the Nilkin, though.
The Nilkin case just feels too flimsy for my tastes. I also don't use the flash on mobile phones anyway... most of them are too harsh.
If you really want a subtle highlight when taking photos, have someone else use their mobile's torch app to shine on your subjects

I am not a heavy camera user, so I have not tried to see if there is any difference. I have used the camera with no problem. I am very confortable with it, it does its job how it should, protects the phone.

I am happy with the nilkin, actually dropped two times and it did its job (thankfully Murphy played nice on me and it always fell on a corner, if it would drop dead flat, screen first, I am sure it would be dead). The back texture helps holding it in my hand, plastic rear cover of 550 is very very slippery also not much bulkier than stock (already bulky and heavy phone).

Sure, it doesn't protect the device while it's in my hands,but I have more problems with phones when I am not holding them.
I have the Rearth Ringke Fusion and it does add a glare to pics if the flash is on but good thing I rarely use my flash. Looks like a simple fix just cut the piece of plastic that separates the flash and camera but other than that great protection for the phone for now.
Another happy user of the Nillkin Natural TPU, it's an excellent fit and adds very little bulk to the phone. The edges make it much easier to grip the phone as well. Best case I've tried so far.

Thats the case I have and its great! It also includes a screen protector and a template to cut out a texture or image that can be swapped when ever which I kinda like.
I'm a new Axon 7 owner and am currently searching for a case to use on this phone. The stock transparent case that comes with the phone is great but due to the fact it's a glossy plastic, it attracts a lot of grease from my fingers and feels dirty after a while. I also dislike it because the sweat from my hands will form into condensation on the back of the case. I also have a problem where the jack on my headphones (Audio Technica ATH-M50) is too large to fit in the hole provided.
I decided to purchase the Spigen 'Rugged Armor' case from Amazon after reading a lot of positive comments about it, but I have been left disappointed and debating whether to return it due to the sheer size and thickness that makes handling the phone (Which is already large enough!) incredibly difficult with small hands. The case does not add much friction despite the material used having a rubber-like appearance, and I actually feel more likely to drop the phone as a result of trying to fumble with the added size. As well as this, the cut-out for the headphone jack is still too small even though it's larger than the wider than the one seen on the stock case. I also find it a lot more difficult to access the fingerprint scanner due to the thickness of the case surrounding it. Another problem is that the case is quite difficult to put onto the phone and a lot harder to remove, to the point where it feels like i'm actually going to damage the phone by attempting to do this!
For my previous phone, a Lenovo ZUK Z2, I had a fantastic Nillkin 'Frosted Shield' shell case that was made from a soft-touch rubber-like plastic. It was very slim at about 2mm in thickness at most, and although it didn't offer much in the way of drop-protection, it did have a nice textured back and that increased the grip tremendously. So, despite the case not being able to protect the phone quite as much from being dropped, it didn't matter because the chances of dropping the phone in the first place were a lot less likely. I wondered whether there was something similar for the Axon 7, but instead in a TPU-style with the sealed corners, and the same thickness as the stock case that's included with the phone? Any recommendations would be most appreciated.

That looks nice, it's kinda like the old Sandstone Black finish on the OnePlus One. There was one similar to this on Amazon UK but I don't think it had the same texture to it. My only compliant with that one is that it isn't a TPU case which completely covers the corners, but on the other hand the sand texture probably adds a lot of grip to reduce the risk of it being dropped.
I'm currently looking into getting the J&D case from their official website. It's in TPU-form which covers the entire phone (Except from the power/volume buttons!) and has the textured soft-touch back I wanted. The only problem with this one is that the glossy plastic edges look a bit tacky in the pictures, but hopefully it's not as bad in person as it looks on the website. I have a discount code which knocks a subtle 15% off the price listed, so it might be worth a shot.
Looking into this now myself. The stock clear case will go yellow as they all do. Getting cheap see through black case as a temporary till I find a good one. I find the clear one a tad loose at the side.

Thanks. I'm mostly interested in the grip. I had a similar case from Amazon. fr but it was in fact quite slippery (it had a satin feel to it). Had to send it back.
The stock case that came with the Axon 7 is quite grippy but it is slowly going yellow.

Thanks for posting those pictures! That's a shame to hear the grip wasn't as good as expected. I wanted something which provided more grip than the stock case, so maybe this isn't the right one for me. I also live in the United Kingdom and having the case shipped from Germany would make it more expensive in postage costs. It does look like a nice case but I am worried it might not offer much protection if the phone is dropped. I think the J&D case would perhaps be better because it has a soft-touch back and conceals all the corners properly.
I have that same Spigen case as above, an Incipio TPU case in smoked brown, and another thin "shell case". This thin shell offers zero protection in case it is dropped, making using one pointless , IMO.
The Incipio case is OK, but again thin and will show wear very quickly. The Spigen one is my favorite hands down, doesn't add bulk to the phone all ports easily accessable, and the edges offer good grip.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions regarding the cases available for the Axon 7. It's interesting to hear how you found the Spigen case not to be bulky, because I found the opposite and returned it for that exact reason. I eventually purchased one of the cheap, plastic shell cases from AliExpress similar to the that in the pictures Joaste posted above.
My overall opinion on this case has been positive but it has worn on the edges and there are cracks down all four corners. As you mentioned, a shell case does not offer much drop protection but it's definitely better than not having a case at all and it does improve the grip quite notably. However, I wish it had a textured or 'Sandstone' back to help avoid grease buildup.
I am now looking for another case, but options in the UK are limited since the Axon 7 is not officially sold here.
I've been using my TPU smoke black case with a glass screen protector for a while and enjoyed that. I got fed up with the Poetic Revolution case because of the dry protector built into the front. It allowed dust and stuff in between the screen and protector. Tonight I stripped out the dry protector and put the case on with the glass protector still on the screen. Fits nice. I have a full coverage protector to fit and might see if it will work with the Poetic. Might need to trim the inner edges of the corners near the speaker grilles.
I've been using this Proworx case since right after I got my Axon 7, so for a bit over a year now. I wasn't super impressed when I got it so I figured I'd replace it as soon as I found something better or it wore out, but I'm still using it, which says something about it.
It isn't the slimmest, for sure, but it isn't as bulky as the Otter Boxes and whatnot that everyone with a non-cracked iphone seems to have. It protects very well - TPU around the edges, fully covering the corners (which is a must, in my eyes), polycarbonate back, enough of a lip on top to protect the screen if you set it down face-down, and the cut-outs and buttons are perfect. Good drop protection - I've "thrown" it onto asphalt, tile, and concrete without the phone getting a scratch. Also works well with the glass screen protectors we covered in another thread. Easy enough to put on and take off too, with no chance of the phone just falling out.
Again, not the thinnest, but not huge, and the protection is excellent. Plus they're cheap and come in multiple colors. And as is typical with cheap stuff manufactured in China, I've seen this same case under at least a couple of other brand names, CoverOn for one. For $5-$6 I recommend trying it - I like it enough that I pretty much never think about replacing it, even though it (a clear one) has yellowed a tad. After trying like 10 cases for my G3 and finding faults with each of them, I can say I like this one enough that I'll probably replace it with the same one, eventually.

I decided to order one of these in black to try out. Have been quite happy with my Spigen, but after installing this Proworx case yesterday, I think I am falling in love. Seems to offer enough protection, fits & looks nice, AND I kind of like how the buttons are a bit harder to push in, which actually prevents me from squeezing open the screen every time I try to pick it up. :good:

Today I fitted the full coverage protector to my Axon 7 and it fits into the Poetic Revolution case nicely! Glad I stripped out the dry protectors in the Poetic cases. I've also now fitted a plastic protector over the glass one as a quick and easy tear off to sacrifice for wear and tear but the glass one makes the front of the phone flat. Even with two stacked protectors, touch works perfectly.
The picture is slightly misleading as the black section also covers the capacitive buttons so there's no indicator of position, but not being backlit anyway, it makes little difference.
Here's a quicky bunch of pics. I have a soft TPU smoky case, black Poetic Revolution and a blue/grey Poetic Revolution which can be mix and matched. Got a couple of little bubbles under the plastic protector and will fix that later, or just remove it. Looks good with just the full coverage glass one.
If anyone is looking for a slim case I just picked up a Bear Motion Sand from eBay. Best case I've had so far for my A7 and I've tried quite a few. Feels like my OPO did.

Been using this one for over 6 months now with out any issues , not as bulky as it looks and the stand is useful . I also have a full body clear skin from clear-coat that fits superbly, clear-coat has various outlets through the UK and installs as you wait , is a bit pricey at £30 for the full skin .
I work in the building trade so need it well protected .
