If the developer makes a theme that is theme manager compatible, you install the apk. Then you check theme manager and you install it. The honeybread theme works this way, for example.
Ah ok so it uses apks. Thanks

Yes the themes are apks. Pretty much everything you need to know is in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948109
Basically you just download and install the apks just like they were apps. Some of them are in that thread and there are also some in the market. Then you just open up the theme chooser and pick what theme you want to use. After choosing your theme, you need to reboot because not all the changes are applied until after you reboot.

I have been trying out different themes for my phone, but what I came to notice is that not all of the icons match the theme and stay stock, and it looks stupid. Is there any way around this?
usually theme creators only theme the most common apps
Guess you gotta stick with the themes that don't mod the icons then

are you talking about sense skin apks, or aosp theme engine apks? very different
Don't think most themes change all icons

I'm talking about themes downloaded from the market for ADW.Launcher on CM7.2 RC3.
Your not going to find an adw theme that changes all apps. What you can do is if there is a popular app that is not themed, you can always contact the dev and ask nicely that it be put into the next update. I think a lot of devs just hit the basics and post to market quickly to make a few bucks. But some of the better ones will actually take the time to listen to their customers and incorporate requests.

What about some of the lettered icon packs?(Icon pack A,B,C, etc.) I've noticed there are a few if them, so maybe try those and see if they have what you're looking for.
A couple of devs have even posted numerous packs of 50-100 icons each....they are paid, but they should cover just about everything.

Also some themes don't have direct replacment icons, rather, they have a lot of generic icons. For instance, if you use a 3rd party twitter app, you can use the stock Twitter icon.

Damn it. I honestly believed clicking on that would send me to a treasure chest of dark themes. Still laughed though.

Update...I loaded in my new LGphone.apk, it looked like crap, but after some research, I know why and how to fix it, going to work on it until it is right.

Hi, any updates on this?
I dropped it due to all the ROMs have this available.

Get rom toolbox. Its loaded with themes and most if not all have links to the play store.

i dnt think rom toolbox will give what u need..those themes are only for custom/aosp roms.
try gravity box, cant confirm but i knw theres a setting there to turn ur UI to dark/holo
I like dark themes too, and the easiest way to get them is by installing the custom rom that comes with the theme chooser. You can also try xpose mod and unicon app.

If you want dark themes. Either get an aosp ROM or you can use bountymans G3 ROM. Go to the G2 forums/ themes and apps, choose some themes for LG home they install like normal apk. On home screen press menu and select a theme.
Or you can use HK theme manager, Xposed theme manager.

Is there anyone that can address to a tutorial for beginners on how to theme an app?
I've been trying to find a blacked out google now launcher and I found some (I know how to apply theme as I was successful in doing so a few times), but lately I can't seem to "make it stick".
So I thought I'll do my own and be done with the dreadful white app drawer!
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
Search for theming 101 by bubbajoe, it's in the Samsung galaxy note 3 theme section it's very similar on how to get started in theming apps for any phone

Does anybody know if there is a way to apply icon packs from the play Store rather than the ones on the Samsung themes store? There are some amazing ones in play store.
Thanks
Edit : obviously I can install Nova or another launcher but I love touchwiz so rather stay on it.

I'm on my first Samsung phone and run into the icon pack problem as well. TouchWiz goes a little further than most overlays like HTC's Sense, or Asus's ZenUI, so its not as easy, not for me anyways, to just throw another launcher into the mix!
There is a free app on the playstore that allows you to use your preferred icon packs in TouchWiz without any other modifications! Two to be exact. The first app is Zedge. It has been a popular website for a long time to download ringtones, other items and they have an app on the playstore that basically does the same thing, but it also includes icon replacement in stock launchers that do not support custom icon packs. I would not prefer this one due to the fact that you have to choose from the apps built-in icons, not your own installed from the playstore. But as with all others, there may be a few things you prefer about the app besides the icons.
Second, "Awesome Icons" app on playstore. It has an icon option under menu, and it will automatically pull up a list of all your installed apps, and out to the side, all your icon packs, just pick and choose which icons your prefer for each individual app you are going to be using a shortut on a screen!
Only downside is, takes a minute or two. Upside, ability to use icons from icon packs off playstore of your choice! Plus, you can even mix & match individual icons for individual apps you have shortcuts for!!!!
Hope this helps!

As the first poster put it's probably easiest to install a custom launcher from the Play Store.
Nova Launcher guys.

Thanks for the obvious advice guys haha but I don't like 3rd party launchers. Love touchwiz so rather stay on it. But looks like there's no way to get third party icons on touchwiz.

Love touch wiz? Have you tried nova? So much more to customize and you can make it look the same and act pretty much the same. But better!
On that note every new phone or any time I have reset I try touch wiz. But end up trashing it due to its limitations
I haven't minded Touch Wiz so far actually but I'm sure eventually I'll switch back to Nova.
I have tried nova and dozens of others. I prefer touchwiz for many reasons which are not relevant to this topic. Let's not change the topic of this thread to convincing me to switch to nova ??

Good luck In your effort. If you find out let us know.
There is a reason people use a custom launcher. Icon packs are part of it.

There are lots of icon packs in the Samsung store. Not very nice though
@mahdibassam have you tried Awesome Icons? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.momocode.shortcuts&hl=en
I used it back in the day. Not sure if it still works or would work with the new touchwiz
Alright so I'm trying out Nova again. Is there any way to import my folders from the touchwiz app drawer? Already imported home screens but all apps are loose in app drawer.

Nova sure has a ton of customisability. But touchwiz is a launcher that grows on you as you continue to use it. Sure it might be limited in functionality, but there is a simplicity to it which nova cannot replicate. Plus it's made by Samsung for their devices, so why not keep it?
