If you have twrp have you tried booting into download mode from there? Also if you have deleted your system why can't you flash another rom with twrp until download mode is working again?...

Can't decrypt Galaxy Nexus after OTA

Just applied the 4.0.2 OTA update to my GSM Galaxy Nexus and after the reboot, even though i type in the correct password, my phone wont decrypt.
I read on android forums people with the 4.0.3 OTA having the same problems.
How can i reset my phone? How does Odin work? Somehow i am stuck at the screen with the android and his open chest
ok i got odin workin, needed to install the android sdk, wiping my phone now
Please note: YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA
everything seems ok, i got into odin mode like this:
-connect your GN with usb to your computer
-start with power + volume down
-use volume up / down to select recovery mode
-confirm by pressing power
-you will see an android with a triangle
-press power and volume
-select factory reset
-confirm with power
-reboot
this worked for me only after i installed the android sdk, before that somehow i was stuck at the android with his chest open and couldnt select anything because somehow my device wasnt recognized
hope this helps
This also caught me out. Not happy.
Method I used (posted on OTA thread) worked without installing SDK:
Power off
Hold Volume + , volume - and power
You should get a green android image with the body opened with "Start" on the screen
Press Down till you get to recovery mode
Press power
Phone will reboot
You will then get same image of android (smaller) with red warning triangle
Wait a minute or two and then press volume + and power (not sure exactly what I did for this maybe it's just waiting)
Use volume down to select wipe data/factory reset and hit power
Select Yes - delete all user data and hit power
Once done select reboot system now and hit power
You are now back to zero and can start again.

Have you tried using fastboot to wipe userdata and system and then to flash the stock image?

The only way to decrypt an encrypted phone is using fastboot. Fastboot is a developer tool that runs on your computer. You need to download the full Google factory image or a full rom, and flash all of the files to your phone using fastboot.
CWM and other recovery software will not be able to factory reset the device.

This is not entirely true. You should be able to use TWRP 2.2.0. As well, have a look through this thread.

What is the command you have to type in prompt to do this?
I am also having trouble decrypting my phone. Factory reset it a couple of times and it is still encrypted.

Hard Reset Won't Work On My Acer A100

I have tried a hard reset with the volume up button + power button until vibrates then switching screen lock on and off. I see the Erasing user data...Erasing cache... come up then I let go and all it does is gives me the acer logo and proceeds to bootup like normal. I have tried about 100 times lol
I am just trying to figure out how to reset the password on the device I purchased it and it was locked.
I have tried the update.zip thing which didn't work (see below)
Erasing Cache before SD update
SD Update cmd: recovery
--update-package=SDCARD: update.zip
Booting recovery kernel image
Recovery verified failed ...
The bootloader is: Bootloader v0.03.13-ICS: Starting fastboot USB download protocol
I am not sure if the bootloader is locked or not and I don't know if the tablet is rooted how would I check?
Thanks.

Sounds like someone relocked the boot loader with a custom recovery installed. It'll say unlocked if it is.
You could let it boot android and see if you can still adb in and get it unlocked again, if its failing to boot android and recovery you bought a tablet someone bricked.
Tapatalked from my GNex - JBSourcery 4.5.6

Yeah I think it's bricked luckily the guy at the pawn shop said I could take it back within 30 days since I purchased it with the unknown password on it.
I managed to get a 32gb Nexus 7 from craigslist for $170 today so happy with that.
Thanks!!

I'm having the exact same issue. I'll let you know what I figure out. I've had mine rooted previously, but have since done a stock ICS update, which removed root. I let the kid play with it for a year and now it's in the exact state you describe. I'm hoping to get it going so I don't need to buy him another tablet!
did you fix this?? im having this issue

Hey.
First of don't cry.
Now, you have TWRP right?
Grab an external SD card and load a ROM onto it through the PC (for GPad)
Put SD in GPad, factory reset device.
Now go to install, external sd, locate ROM, Swipe to flash.
After flash wipe dalvik and cache then Boot to ROM.
If above fails.
Download LG PC suite and install LG drivers to PC.
Plug LG GPad in PC
Run the LG Suite click Upgrade recovery.
Now it will download stock LG ROM and after download will flash automatically.
Will then reboot after flash.
Hopefully now is fixed.
If hangs at boot screen boot to stock recovery, (power off, power button + Volume down, when LG logo appears let go off all buttons, now press all three in. Will need two hands for it,)
Then get a factory reset prompt, click power button twice to perform a factory reset.

sm-t210 unable to get into download mode

it doesn't boot, doesn't get into download mode.
I am able to get into recovery but not download mode.
I tried formatting cache \ full wipe and then rebooting - no luck
ideas ?
Thanks!

What happens when you try download mode? Also you could see if smart switch can fix it .
