Unfortunately, I have already stained my white phone. I got the navy blue diztronic case, and haven't taken it off since about Monday when I got it. I just took it off a bit ago to discover that it has been stained. I've tried a q tip and alcohol, and water with a q tip. I also tried a damp cloth, and rubbing the crap out of it, but no result. It hasn't cleared at all after all this. I'm really bummed. Any help would be appreciated.

SO,
I could take the peeling paint no longer, so I "fixed" it. Or at least I thought I had.
I took apart the unit, very timidly; everything came off but the buttons and what not. I used an old drywall (worn down) sponge, and kept it wet, sanding carefully. Cleaned often as I went, and wasn't too worried about surface scratches, as I was about to paint it.
BTW, the gold finish under that non slip coating is actually quite imressive.
Anyway, only the most advanced techniques, tools, and paint were used. See for yourself...
and yes, that is a roll of toilet paper!!!
Two days later, the rubber started to peel off. I used "Plasti-Dip" spray paint. I thought a rubber grip might be nice, since I work construction, and black is just plain cool. I tested the tool grip paint on a nokia 3595 dummy, and now I just can't get that **** off of it. I thought it would stick to my wallaby. Apparently, not. I used my fingernail to peel off a wear hole caused by my Al case, and just peeled off the rubber in a few large pieces. Anyway, I'm going to check into good primers soon. I think that the noslip coating that flakes off our units isn't the problem, but the foil finnish that just won't let anything adhere. Anyway, If you have a suggestion or comment, fire away. And sorry, the only digicams i have are a Sony T610 and a V300....
Thanks!
I've installed probably 10 of these things, but now I find myself hesitant to install one on my evo...for 2 reasons.
1)the dude who messed his up when installing one.
2)The light leak towards the bottom of the phone. If light can get out, water can get in.
How many of you guys have a protector?
I bought bodyguardz and put it on my Evo with no problems at all. Thats all I use is Bodyguardz , my opinion is they are the best and look smoother then the Invisishield. You dont get that orange peel look. Anyways, worked fine for me with no problems at all.
Ditto. No problem with my BG install. It was easier to install on EVO compared to previous devices and it's looking great. I've only done the front and back, haven't done sides and top/bottom yet.
I have the invisishield no orange peel works great - maybe you got a bad one?
i use the zagg, absolute no complaints. no orange, no water damage.
Thanks guys. This is making me feel better. I've also always had trouble with orange peel on zagg..
zagg here, not to satisfied with the vinyl sticky type feel on it, im probably gunna go for an anti-glare bodyguardz when i save up a few more $... i also have a little light leak at the bottom and install went flawlessly, worked out every bubble
Installed without incident on 2 Evos
Im usually a fan of bodyguardz, phantomskinz, ghostarmor and such...I will not however be installing an item on this phone that requires water/soap mixture. never had a problem but im not gonna do it.
Im going with the 10 pack of plastic screen protectors on ebay or clairview or maybe even amzer
Put my XOSkins full body protector on myself with no issue whatsoever. Water damage indicator is what I was most worried about, but no problems. Just tried to squeegee the water off to the sides rather than the top and bottom. Looks great BTW.
Last night I just applied by Bodyguardz skin to my EVO and I was afraid of the water damage too. While I squeegeed the applicator I had the phone sitting on a towel and wiped away the moisture on the sides. Today looks a lot better than last night. Thin film went on very good and there were no corners that are sticking up. My only problem is that this morning when I turned my EVO on (and praying that there was no water damage) I noticed one tiny string of lint that became trapped under the screen protector. SONOFABITCH! It's not a major eyesore, but I know it's there, so it's bothering me. Thank goodness the kit came with 2 sets.
So after a bit of looking around I found that the general consensus was that the Realook screen protectors were the best. I bought them and was really excited to try them out. However, from the start both shields had dust under them and every time i used tape to remove the dust, more kept showing up. Finally when i applied the spare shield with only one or two minuscule bubbles i thought i was home free. Wrong, screen brightness showed two pieces of hair under the shield and i had to start all over again, but dust kept coming. I really want to make this product work so I'm probably gonna buy a new set since they're pretty cheap. I would appreciate it if any of you guys could provide tips on how to apply these as easy as possible. Thanks in advance

If you email realook and explain the situation, they will send you extra screen protectors at no cost. They have some great customer service. Try installing it in the bathroom after running hot water because it helps settle the dust. Also take your time with it.
When I tried installing it, I think I tried 6 different protectors and had problems with every one, the first 2 had corners that did not stick on the protector, the third one went on fine but had air bubbles that I could not get out, the fourth and fifth one had problems with the corners not sticking and the last one had air bubbles that would not get out.
I have a set of Steinheil coming now so I'm trying that out.
I don't think that it is a problem on my end because before I got the realook, I got them from ebay and the ebay protectors went on perfectly (no air bubbles and perfectly aligned), but the only problem I have with that is that they have the rainbow effect and it annoys me.
HTH.
Strange, my Realook went on first time, no issues. Do it in the bathroom after taking a hot shower, the steam will reduce the amount of dust in the air. And make sure your screen is wiped super clean under a bright light--the fact that you found two hairs under your screen is crazy.

The vibrant was the first time i ever got a rainbow screen protector. I've ordered dozens before and they were all great. What happened? and why did they get more expensive?
A few months ago, I bought a plastic casing for my tablet and a few days back I realized that the back of my tablet got some purplish stains. Is there any way to remove those stains for white tablet? Thanks.
Lightly dampen a section of a microfiber cloth with water and gently wipe it, then go over it again with a dry section of the cloth to wipe away any moisture. Avoid getting moisture in any openings like the speaker or mic. If the stain remains, you can also try using a mild soap-and-water solution.
Hey all, probably a 1 in a 1,000,000 situation happened to me this morning. I was fixing something in the house with Gorilla Glue gel super glue and dumb me touched the inner screen with some residue on my finger. I didn't notice it until a few hours later and there were 4ish small marks that looked like scratches but were glue prints. I freaked out, OMG what I have just done. Thank the Lord, I got it all removed.
1. Took alcohol prep wipe to screen and lightly rubbed until pad dry, it removed a little but not much.
2. Laid dry alcohol wipe on marks, then applied Goo Gone to pad. Lightly rubbed, and left for 10min to soak.
3. After soaking rubbed lightly the cotton pad soaked in Goo Gone, like 80% of the mark is now gone.
4. Took a fresh new Mr Clean Magic Eraser standard, wet it, squeezed it, and rubbed the remaining marks gently, to my prayers, it removed all the remaining marks.
No scuffs, no marks, no sign of it ever happening. Whew!
LUCKY and good on you for getting it cleaned! Thanks for the tip and I hope I am never in this situation!
Lucky is right!
I HATE CA fingers, that's what we call it when you have that stuff all over your fingers that's hard and even harder to get off.
Just remember the cleaner your fingers are the longer that protector will stay pristine. At MOH2 it doesn't take much to abrade it.
I act if superglue is acid. (Which it is)
And make sure to not have anything else around. And always deep wash my hands before touching anything else.
