Hello,
I think i need some help here....
I have flashed dozens of roms and have not had any problems but i have just tried another there going from LeeDroid to AuraxTSense and now my phone either goes in a boot loop or freezes.
I can get into recovery and have wiped everything and tried to recover my nanadroid backup but it still freezes at bootscreen or loops.
I noticed at the end of the nandroid restore it said MD5 Mismatch.
Can anyone help me out here?
Cheers.
I had the same problem a few weeks ago. The problem came from my sdcard.
After installing a rom try booting without the sdcard/with an other sdcard. You can also try to format the sdcard on your computeur (sd-ext included).
You could also run a logcat when stuck/bootloop, this will give u more information.
Hope this help

i seem to be having the same problems, other sdcard did not help though
Trying to go back to some older ROMS to get another kernel..
EDIT: a little summary:
wiped everything, partitioned the SD card (tried with swap, without swap, with ext3 and ext4 partititons)
-tried both 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 and 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14 radios
-tried switching back to 7.8.1 (worked) and than to 7.9 again (didn't work)
-with 7.8.1 tried to flash the OC kernel alone (didn't work)
What does didn't work mean:
White HTC BootScreen Loop maybe 10 times .. than just stays there (tried to wait for 2 hours - still nothing)
HBOOT version 0.80
Flashing with Clockworkmod Recovery using ADB (maybe i could try a newer one.... any links plz? couldn't google it down)
T-Mobile HTC Desire - unbranded and rooted
16GB Class 2 Kingston SD
The problem came from your sdcard.
You dont need to change the sdcard.
Take it out, format on your computer (use usb format tool maybe better), copy your ROM to sdcard, install it.

But the phone works for you after flashing ?
Mine works great after flashing a rom , It's happen to me only in the 2nd boot
Edit :
Some one tell me to do this :
"full wipe+dalvik+ext partition from the advenced option of your custom recovery. reflash and then start installing apps. it will work but rremember to wipe ext from the advanced option."

Nope any ROM with an overclocked kernel does not work for me - it only boot loops and than freezes at the white htc boot screen.
Wiping didn't help - look up - tried nearly everything....
Sometimes Clockworkmod doesn't format the sdcard properly.
Same problem happenned to some people trying to flash Sense HD rom and getting bootloop.
You can try with adb in recovery :
cd /sd-ext
rm -r *

I have this problem too. And in my opinion - sd card not a reason of phone freeze and reboot. I think here is a problem with kernel. I change 2 sd cards, a lot of rom's and problem did;nt dissapears. After, I flash unroot rom - phone was dead. Now I waiting for the phone , when they will return me from a service. So I think the problem is on kernel, not ROM.
Thanks for the replies.
I formated my card but the only rom that seems to be working for me is Leedroids, nandroid restore is still not working with other backups i saved on my PC.

Did You formatted your EXT3 too ?
"Enter to recovery, do a Wipe Factory reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik, format/wipe partition Ext2, 3 or 4."
really seems like some kernels are not compatible with OUR phones ... are your phones branded too ? (unbranded now - my was T-Mobile)
Another question- i've been trying cyanogenmod now - it boots, but repeatedly freezes - can you gyus please try it too ?
thx

well for one you already flashed cobrato's kernel so you're ready to flash a stock based ROM like Trinity Vengeance...
if you want to flash an AOSP or CM based ROM like PACMAN or CM10.1 just download the ROM package, extract the boot.img that's inside the package, fastboot flash the boot.img, reboot to recovery [they already have their own recovery with the kernel], wipe data and cache and then flash the ROM package

what is the best installation configuration of Trinity 2.9 ROM (Acro S) with Kernel Forzaferrileo? better, what do you think best, the first rewrite. FTF .200 original and then install over the Trinity ROM?

bugs will always be there bro, what with all the modding and scripting that developers do on a ROM..you just have to find the right workarounds in my opinion
i really understand that... but this "bugs" about i'm saying is from based source(Installation conflicts)... i just will do a clean re-installing to be sure... maybe when sony release new Update some bugs disappear...
I'll do it tomorrow ... enough for today(1:10 AM here) ... Thanks for help me (I still have to re-format my PC today ... another thing is full of bugs)
...
If you can pass me the setup order to install the trinity ROM with Forzaferrileo kernel i will enjoy it
bye :highfive:
I have a doubt now ... to flash the. TFT file, making a clean re-installation, what i need wipe, format or do the factory restore? in what order?
and after that.. I'll have to do the root again? ... neither the unlock the bootloader? ...

what i did when i flashed trinity was:
flash cobrato kernel
reboot to recovery
wipe data/factory reset and cache
flash trinity rom
reboot to system
if you wanna flash forzaferrarileo kernel after flashing the rom just fastboot flash it or use flashtool..i dunno if you can use forzaferrarileo kernel to flash the rom, but i beleive you can do so since it has cwm recovery already
Make sure you have the latest version of Flashtool.
Hello All,
I'm not expert in android platform. I found that there are many articles that are talking about F2FS performance in compare to EXT4.
Is there any tool to convert my device t889 to F2FS keeping the same experience? i.e. android 4.3, current ROM DN3 V3.2 LTE, and Kernel AGNI V3.9.4-OC-LTE
Regards
Guys ... Your reply please ... I think this may have significant performance change if it is doable ... Also if there is a way to override all system call to fsync() by fdatasysnc(), it will produce a massive performance change in the whole device

I just did the f2fs and had ROM running OK, did not see any improvement so I flashed CWM recovery and tried to restore a nandroid and it failed on data then phone would boot but gave me an error about having to reset phone. So i'm odining+root66ing my Note2 to get back to stock. I assume Im not f2fs any more.
Question? Once you switch to f2fs, do you have to use devil recovery from that point on to flash new roms?
Can some one explain the options to flashing a new roms once on f2fs, ex: what recovery can be used?
Converting to f2fs was not difficult and will do once again when I understand more.
Cheers, they really need a beer mug icon, but jolly face will do.

Odin will format as ext4. You will need to keep devil recovery in order to keep f2fs as no other recovery can write to f2fs partitions. Ive found though that some zips dont like to install using devil recovery. Once partitions are f2fs, before you can do anything else with another recovery, you need to reformat the partitions back to ext4 ( or go through odin and start all over again lol ).
You will need to use devil and reformat the partitions back as ext4. Then flash cwm / phils touch recovery. Once thats done you can flash a new rom zip. To revert the new rom back to f2fs, Install a compatible kernel (agni and devil so far ), then flash devil f2fs recovery. Reboot to make sure things are working properly. Then reboot into devil recovery to do a nandroid, format f2fs, and restore the new nandroid.
Hope this helps! I just did a write up in the Jedi X2 thread with links.

Yes Saw your post on JediX2 and used you link to get the devil recovery. really not difficult as you explained it. But just posted my question here as f2fs was deviating from rom thread. Thanks again. Cheers.
Read directions in op from thread provided by matt. Performance gains require a little more than converting file system. Added effort is well worth it.

firsthing I'm sorry for my bad english language.then:
I use elix-R rom as primary and have try ARHD,Sd v18,Alex Rom,Sd RedBull v2 and MaximusHd v8.1.0.
Sd v18 got black page(even without multirom pached!),ARHD is good but when you changing your rom in multiboot and if you coming back to ARHD got bootloop.Sd RedBull got the same and maximusHD working with some problem like fc blinkfeed(got better and I'm use it right now).and alex rom worked flawlessly.
Yeah, I redownloaded Elix-R and it still wouldn't work. I am guessing I'll just remove MultiROM for the time being until a 4.4.4 custom kernel comes out.
Is it possible to boot from a ROM install to a second partition on the SD card? Currently don't have enough space on internal (Why does the UK only get 16GB) and would prefer a separate ext3 partition on SD card as opposed to creating .img files on exfat partition for speed/size reasons (I am assuming that they can't be resized once made, right?)

There is no kernel to flash to the newest Viper; it's based on firmware for which source hasn't been released.

I mean you could run them both as secondary ROMs, then you wouldn't have needed a supported kernel for CM.
I have a fully stock ROM as my Internal/primary ROM and never use it. I'm just keeping it there so I can pull the OTA when it comes out.
I'm having an issue where if I boot into the main rom (which is Viper rom), my data doesn't auto connect. I have to turn toggle airplane mode. Any help for this? This happened after installing DU aosp rom.
OK guys a little help before I lose everything on my device lol. Ok so I have about 4 ROMs in multirom, viperone 2.5.0 being my primary. In an attempt to add a rom to my list, i entered the bootloader. Instead of selecting recovery i selected factory reset by mistake. And it wiped my settings for the rom. Upon reboot i decided to reflash the rom and attempt to restore my backup. Unfortunately i was unable to sign in to google to restore my backup. So i tried flashing AndroidRevolutions HD and all went well but music doesnt work. I figured it wasnt an issue since i use my secondary CM 11 most of the time. So i rebooted into CM and all was well, however i want viper back as primary and cant get it to complete the setup. And when setup does complete, google cant sign in. Other than using a bootable RUU to reset the device is there anything i can do?

You may have done it and didn't mention it but it appears you missed one of the main steps :
Did you reflash the primary CM12 ROM to an updated or another CM12 ROM -- that is the step that screws up booting the secondary GPE ROMs from booting ! Everything works great for me until I have to change or update the primary ROM - that is what makes the secondary ROMs unbootable
