How to remove slimkat and install stock android - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I bough a LG nexus 5 a year ago and had slimkat install on it. I want to remove it and reinstall the original android software on it. How can I do that? thanks!

My friend, you seem to be on the wrong forum. This is for the 5x, I presume you are looking for http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5

5.2 to 4.4

Hey,
Am I right in assuming that you can not downgrade from 5.0.2 to 4.4. I had to reset back to stock and unfortunately my sister updated my Nexus 7 2013 to 5.0.2
You should be able to do it with Factory Images from Google.
I've never done this, so I am not certain. Someone else can confirm before you try it.

Just make sure you have the correct image for your specific device.
Works fine. Tried all the 5.x.x's and was unimpressed. Went back to 4.4.4 and no issues on my flo.
You can flash all the way back to 4.2.2 if you like. There are no limitations on Nexus devices.
Of course you can downgrade, it's a Nexus!

[Q] koodo factory Image

Since, Koodo has started carrying G3 (model D852) i bought one and i want to start using custom ROMs (coming from Nexus 5)
but, before i start the process of root and recovery, etc i want to make sure that i have a backup plan i.e. stock koodo factory image for G3
i have been searching all over xda and could not find one, could someone please help me with this.
Also, i am use to installing custom roms, it seems the procedure for LG G3 is much different from Nexus phones ( i owned all of them except N6). So, if i understand it correctly
First, i need to root my device
second, i need to install custom recovery using BUMP
third, i can only install ROM that have been built with BUMP
thanks for the help
Bump!

[Q] Flashed Stock 5.1.1 (no wipe) - Still Get OTA Update Notification

Update: I think I found my answer. Apparently we DID get another update, but the version number didn't change, hence my confusion (DOH!)
Hi all,
I flashed the stock 5.1.1 factory image (no wipe) on my Nexus 7 (FLO) the other week with the Nexus Root Toolkit, but I'm getting a notification that tells me that the OTA 5.1.1 update has been downloaded, giving me an option to install now or later. The system settings show me that I have 5.1.1 so I'm wondering if there's a step that I may have missed?
Thanks!
What is your build number? My guess (and this is speculation) is that you are running 5.1.1 (LMY47V). There is a new version out now for the Nexus 7 which is 5.1.1 (LMY48G)

Stock firmware?

A few days ago I root a Nexus 5X, installed custom rom, I have tried a few ones.
But I want to go back because of two reasons, the battery time is much worse(compared to the Stock firmware) and the phone lose the wifi the whole time.
So I wounder where I find the orignal Stock Oreo 8.1? Where can I donwload it on the forum?

Google search "google firmware", look for nexus 5x firmware and download and install using fastboot.
Stock firmwares for Nexus5X are all here (oldest first):

FROM ANDROID 9: Downgrade to KitKat 4.4.4 Stock BUT Retain Root and Unlocked BL

Hi y'all,
It's been ages since I have messed around with my device! So I need some lessons.........
I have a Verizon Samsung Note 4 currently on HAVOC ROM with Android 9 and N910VVRS2CQE1. I want to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.4 STOCK.
1. Do I need to downgrade the BL also?
2. Is this all going to happen through ODIN or is there a stock image I can flash through TWRP without much fuss?
3. A little hand holding would be appreciated !
I have searched for days here and Google. XDA 's new search is a little tough to get used to.
