Default android battery saving [Devs take a look a this] - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys.
I wanted to ask anyone if you know what happens when the battery wents to 1-5% and the flash icon appears ,because im monitoring my battery with Gsam battery app ,and when im above 5 % my phone drains ~12,5%/h ,but when battery goes below 6 , the phone drains only ~1,3%h ,but the perfomance doesnt change , so i enated to ask what processes are being disabled when battery is critical and whether they can be turned off if they're not needed , maybe its made by devs who make the roms?Im currently using eclipse v3.

Do I need to change kernel or what ever need to do to fix this just not to do factory cant do that anymore after some time everything back as it was.
Im providing a screenshot(phone was 100% full and now is 45% in 3h) so you guys who know more then me can see what is going on

Not sure, but why don't you first get rid of Juice Defender, Temp+CPU Pro (see their comments on Google play: snip.. "I know that it has issues with sense ui for htc users. I am not sure why it does not work with your device until I get my hands on one") and any other 3rd party programs / widgets that are battery related?
Then do a full charge and figure out.
...
I menaged to put android os in normal with franko kernel but now when I call someone in battery usage phone stays at 60-70% usage for more then 5 min?????And when put phone on chare it is gone DONO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT/??????

[Q] HTC DHD 4.2.2R8 drain battery so much

Hi everyone!
I'm using JellyTime 4.2.2R8 on my DHD.
It's working fast but battery drain so much.
Ex: I only view screen, scroll something. Everage 1 minute, battery degree 1-2%
Who can help optimize this problem?, thanks!

Hi,
I installed JellyTime R8 on Monday evening, and I haven't experienced such a battery drain so far, it goes down a bit faster than my stock Gingerbread+Sense ROM. I might have other stats issues (wrong "on battery" duration, charge stuck at 90%...), but no drain so far.
I am not well experienced in flashing ROMs and how to solve problems, but I have seen lots of people advising to flash the battery stats and recalibrate. But you need a few complete charge/discharge cycles to make it work properly. (But according to a few other people, it's a kind of religious belief too...)
You can also install a more precise battery stats app. I saw a more detailed message in Jellytime Dev thread (in one of the last pages). If I find it again, I let you know.
BetterBatteryStats

I cannot find again the thread/post where I saw this information, but the application some people advise to use is BetterBatteryStats.
To give you a counter example: since I flashed JellyTime R8 (Monday 20th Mai, 23h GMT+1), I fully charged my phone only twice.
The first discharge took almost a day (but I used it a lot, configuring and playing with the new features).
The second discharge started 33 hours ago and I still have 50% as we speak. Maybe the stats are wrong, but the phone is still ON after 33hours. I'll let you know how long it lasts.
I am on GSM roaming all day long, but my phone stays most of the time in standby mode.
A few things that I've done to optimize the battery life:
- remove the constant location-tracking, both GPS and 3G (especially as GPS is not working since I flashed JT R8);
- remove permanent/auto 3G connection, as I am spending all the day abroad, it is useless to keep 3G activated, without data roaming on.
Go in Settings/location and switch the toggle off.
Go in Settings, expand Wireless and Networks (Plus), then Mobile Networks and untick the first box (my ROM is in french so I am not 100% sure of the translation, it might be something like Activate Data)

Thanks Matth59 !
I toggled off some setting in phone (GPS, MobileData, effect screen, animation, turn off notification some app...)
But but it does not improve the problem of battery.
I charged full battery, after 24minutes
Saw status of battery on 24m19s, (95%)
Screen 70% (I set bright of screen about 20-30%)
Cell standby 6%
Android system 5%
Phone idle 5%
Wifi 3%
Facebook 3%
Android OS 2%
Media server 2%

And how long does it usually take for it to be discharged?
The second time I charged it, it said that charge was complete and stopped charging at 90%, and I got the impression that it reached that level quite fast. But the device is still on, after 38 hours.
I hope somebody with more experience in that field can give you a better advice or more information, than just flashing the battery stats and recalibrate it.
After one week of using R8, this is how battery is going for me.
On standby, it can last as long as it used to with the stock Sense + Gingerbread ROM (or even a bit more, but maybe because I haven't reinstalled all my apps).
When using the phone, battery life is going down quite fast, and I am not sure if it can last more than 1 day of normal use (3g, mails, messages, calls...).
The most battery consuming task is the screen. It makes me wonder if it could be related to the feature that was introduced by Google since JellyBean 4.1: Project Butter, which makes everything smooth in Android.

Can you specify which ROM ur using?? Seeing your Post it doesnt seem to be ROM problem might be battery Issue too...Check it by charging it to 100% and Let it discharge to 0% and see the TIME...Flash The ROM which according to you had a excellent battery life and charge it to 100% and let it Discharge to 0% and compare the time if its Same or near then its battery issue you have to replace with new one else ROM issue...
I Hope this helps you...
Wechat nd fb are the top battery killers... logging out is no option.. btr to uninstall them

[Q] Battery Drop on F240k Kitkat Stock

Hi. I'm having a problem with my G Pro Stock Kitkat. After using a battery calibration tool, I suddenly experienced battery drops on my phone. From 100%, i checked the battery settings or status, and it says that I only have 3-5 hours to use my phone. I think it may be incorrect. After some minutes, I see my battery percentage continuously dropping like crazy. Could someone help me fix this? Thanks in advance.

We're going to need additional details in order to diagnose and possibly troubleshoot the battery drain. First and foremost we need to know which particular apps you often use on your phone. From there we'll need to see which apps consume battery while the screen is on and youy're on your phone, and which ones continue to drain while screen is off. I recommend you download battery monitor apps such as GSAM battery monitor (include also the root companion), as well as either wakelock detector or better battery stats. With those apps we'll be able to sense as well whether system processes contribute to the drain.
Drain your battery, have this apps installed then full charge your bat. Once full charged begin monitoring then send screenshots once battery is about to run out.
And also, battery is automatically calibrated by android so battery calibration apps are quite redundant.

An app to show idle % per hour battery drain?

Hi, I have a OnePlus 3 with LineageOS, I also used to have the ElementalX kernel on which I enabled the battery monitor and I could see the battery drain percentage/hour in real time, at first it was 1,5%/h idling which is already terrible (for ref i used my schoolmates nexus, which had 0,5%/h and also googled a bit) but then it got worse and worse until it got to 3%/h so I decided to clean flash the rom and leave the stock kernel on... And that has left me with awful OCD about my battery since I can't see the drain in real time anymore (Previously I used the EX Kernel Manager which works only with that kernel)
So I need to know 2 things, does anyone know why my battery drain could have been acting out? And more importantly, please recommend me some apps that can display the idle battery drain in real time...
Thanks in advance.
Ex kernel mangaer works with all kernels. You could use accubattery as well, it does have a similar option too. Idle drain needs to be checked on long runs, for example if you use your phone for texting and turn your screen on/off many times, a battery monitor app could not be that accurate because when it scales the percentage used by screen off it could register the amount of power used by the screen when it was on ( but it wasn't register as screen on because the 1% dropped when the screen was off even if you used that 1% when the screen was on). I hope it's clear enough. English is not my native language and it's hard to explain it.
