Hey guys. Quick question if anyone can help me.
A friend has a HTC One X from Three UK which he has had carrier unlocked by Three UK themselves. I want to know if I would be able to flash the stock Rom onto this device to debrand it, without having to S-Off.
His CID is H3G__001. I initially assumed he would not be able to without S-Off, but I thought I would check my old HTC Hero which was originally on Three UK and then unlocked in the same manner.
The Hero I managed to debrand by flashing a stock RUU, but the CID on that device is also H3G__001. So I'm thinking, if the CID ends with __001, does that mean a stock RUU can be flashed?
Do any of you know what the CID is for a locked Three UK device?
My friend is looking to sell his HTC One X and I'll only buy it if I can debrand it and have it running the stock firmware.
Currently using a Desire HD and iPhone 4, but getting sick and tired of waiting for the upcoming ICS update. If HTC had said the DHD is not being update, then I would have just got the One X..!
My locked three branded phone has the same CID - I don't beleive you will be able to install a stock ruu on this phone without changing the CID.

You can still put a stock rom on the phone by going down the htc dev route but you can't use an RUU.
Im on the same version of Android since i got the phone, the bootloader is unlocked with S-ON and it has been working fine since i got it. I heard 5.1 had been released, is there a H3G RUU for the new version or can i use the Europeon one.. my CID Num is H3G__001.
Because i am rooted it says it cant check for updates, can anyone tell me what i can do?
I thought about restoring the original software RUU and then updating, but what if my service provider hasnt released the update, unless their is another H3G M9 user on the forum who can tell me different.
Thanks.

Your best bet is to S-OFF, then Super CID. After you have done that just restore the newest WWE RUU. That way you're on the latest version and can continue to receive any new updates a lot sooner - none of that waiting for the network to release the update. Especially with marshmallow round the corner.

Other than the way you stated not really. If you don't want to go S-OFF then you'll need to restore stock and update, then root again.
Hey there buddy.
What the chance you backed up your stock H3G recovery.
I flashed TWRP and forgot to take a backup, now can't flash the update.
I posted in this forum asking in anyone had the UK H3G stock recovery but no answers.
Cheers.

Guys,
Looks like you both are struggling to have it. Try changing CID if you are S-OFF !
If on S-on then 1st you guys need to make it S-off with Sunshine s-off tool and then just change to super CID
Finally android L will be on ur hand & android M will knock your doors soon

hey what do you meen change CID how is it done and will it unlock the update for us?
Sunshine doesnt work on Desire 820.
So we need to now your CID, maybe there is a compatible rom for your device, if you are not locked by a career.
Here is the way how you can read the CID from your phone, do it and than tell here your result and lets see what we can do.
http://www.andromods.com/basic-how-to/identify-cid-mid-number-on-htc-htc-one-m8.html
When you are in the bootloader you will see on top a s-on or s-off thing. If yyour device is s--off than you can change to supercid and after this you can flash every lollipop version from other desire 820 variants.

hmm..Thanks @Oel for letting me know that Sunshine doesn't works for 820.
:silly: But fact that i have seen is most device are S-on if they have non-super CID..hmm interesting just now i too remember that some where KINGHUNKI had told that http://xtc2.net service works for 820 :fingers-crossed: but still from my side i have not tried.
Guys you may be interested on it
also how do i root, s-off and load a recovery????????
I recently bought an HTC One (M9) 32Gb Factory Unlocked on eBay but when i put the phone in downlode mode i saw in description: htc himaulatt, i suppose is att carrier and it has bootloader locked, s-off and cid:11111111. Also the firmware is 3.35.617.12. This is the Developer Edition? Can i flash another Sense rom like ViperOne?
Any help please?
With supercid....you likely have an att variant phone that has been flashed with the latest OS....or I suppose it could have taken the latest OTA if the recovery and FW is stock...
Either way....you can flash viper....or any MM rom that supports the ATT network....
You are in pretty good shape for Modding....just remember to backup your device before doing anything to crazy...g

Hey, did you get any luck installing other roms? I have the same phone and it is "S-ON", I'd would give the rom that you have tried a try as well... let me know!
Hey guys,
I've got a m9 with the exact same condition, bootloader locked, s-off and cid:11111111, and firmware is 3.35.617.12. However, when i bought this off a seller online, he told me its brand new. (lied, by the looks of it)
I', not familiar with this whole flashing, ROM, SCID, s-off etc thing. But right now i've got a android security update, which werent allowed to proceed because it says i am not running official HTC software. Also my phone says its a test unit and is HTC's property (which i've read somewhere that says its due to the s-off thingy)
I only want my phone back to stock, and could update OTA.
Where do i start? i dont expect answers, but perhaps some guide as to which articles/threads to read? Its all quite confusing to me at the moment.
Cheers, CLee
Well, S-OFF basically means you can do what you want with your phone.
You can unlock your bootloader by typing "fastboot oem unlock" in your cmd.
Since your rom is x.x.617.x, you run the developer edition, that one is always himaulatt.
No lock, just dev edition.
I just got a HTC M9 and it also says himaulatt, but mine says S-ON, i can't find any information about this particular model.
Hello there, guys.
I am getting into this whole "Android" thing and realizing it is fun and sometimes complex. A co-worker bought an unlocked HTC One M9 at the beginning of the year, and it came with Android 5.1.1 - the firmware was 2.11.531.19, which belongs to T-Mobile. There was no way to update it OTA, but she was happy so that was it.
Now, having finally been able to update an AT&T Note 5 withough being in the US, I thought the process would be somewhat similar with the M9. Knowing it was a T-Mobile device - the 531 in the firmware is T-Mobile's SKU - I downloaded the RUU from HTC with version 3.39.531.41
No go. Not only did it fail, it left the device in a somewhat bricked state. I tried downloading different RUU's, tried getting the rom.zip in a SD card, but it all failed. Then, just for kicks, I downloaded the RUU for the Unlocked/Developer version, which is 3.35.617.31 BAM! It worked without a problem.
Being curious, I used ADB to look what the CID/MID values were for the device, and found something funny. The MID is 0PJA11000, which I believe belongs to Dev/Unlocked/AT&T, but the CID is set to 11111111 (SuperCID). Whut!
I also see the product is "htc_himaulatt", which I guess means this was an AT&T device... that had a T-Mobile SKU installed? The device is S-ON, by the way.
What does this mean for future updates? Should I/she continue to use the RUU for the Unlocked/Developer devices? Should I set her device to S-OFF? Also, she received an OTA notification for version 4.x.xxx.xx that incloudes Nougat, but upon download it said that the devices software had been modified and it couldn't install that update.
Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I would say leave it as is, if you change the cid to the appropriate one for the developer edition(BS_US001), the otas wont fail.

But in order to change the cid I need to have S-Off which in turn needs the device to be rooted, or am I wrong?
