BT problem with AppRadio - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have some problems with the following combination:
LG G4 as Phone connected to my AppRadio (BT)
Pioneer AppRadio3
Android Box with 4.4.1 which is connected by HDMI to mirror the Android screen to my AppRadio. (Touch screen by ARUR with BT)
If I connect my G4 by BT to my AppRadio, it´s not possible to connect my Android Box for working with ARUR to get touch screen working.
If I kill the connection with my G4 it works as expected and I´m able to use the touch screen on my AppRadio.
I switched from HTC One M7(Android 5.0.2) to my new G4 (5.1) and I had no problem to connect my M7 and the Android box with my AppRadio to get both working, so this issue seems to be phone related.
Do you guys have any idea how to fix this issue?
It´s not really usable as is now...

No ideas at all???

[Q] Bluetooth A2DP issue with Car Stereo

Ok, so here's the deal. I have a rooted T-mo G3 (D851) on a stock rom, out of the box it's been awesome to use with my Pioneer AVH-X2600BT head unit in my scooby. I was messing around with themes a short while ago and then the bluetooth stopped working intermittently. From what I can tell the mix-rate of the A2DP stream changes from 44k to 3hz and all you hear are beeps at multiple amplitudes. The beeps are playing out of the buffer in the head unit until it empties then it resets the connection to the phone. It still plays out these beeps until it's empty even if I disconnect the phone from the head unit.
I don't have this problem with two other iPhones. And previous to my screwing around, it'd work flawlessly since a bought it (launch day.)
Could I have screwed up a mixrate setting someplace? I do have a custom mixer xml for boosting headphone port and speaker audio but I never touched the settings for the bluetooth driver.
This behavior is intermittent and it matters very little what content I'm playing through it. I do notice that when this is happening, no metadata or control is capable through AVRCP either. (i.e. Pandora app can't connect to the phone, no album art, etc)
Sometimes it'll stop doing it and play normally for the rest of the session (drive) after a few minutes and everything is normal. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all and sometimes I can't get it work normally at all.
Here's a video showing the behavior:

Reset your Bluetooth on your headunit and pair it again with all your bluetooth devices.
I had a similar problem with my LG G3 and my Pioneer AVH-8500 where my Pioneer will not recognize my LG G3 anymore but recognizes my Note 3.
I fixed the problem by resetting my Bluetooth on my Pioneer and had to pair all my devices back to it again.
You will have to look into your Pioneer manual on how to reset your bluetooth.
Edit: I just remembered something.
Did you happen to update or change your firmware.
Some KitKat firmwares are missing the Bluetooth Metadata and will not function properly.
Use autoaudio download it from playstore. This fixes my problem on metadata
Hey thanks guys.
I reflashed the bt radio in my head unit and the problem so far has seemed to go away. Metadata and everything works again.
I appreciate the heads up from another pioneer user.

How exactly did you reflash the bt radio? I have the same head unit and am having problems with it dropping the bt connection to my G3
I just got forced to upgrade my LG G3 to Android 5.0 and it completely screwed up my Bluetooth audio connection in my car.
Bluetooth sync to home audio playback is fine, but BTooth audio is completely corrupted with the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT.
I cant find the instructions on how to reflash my stereo firmware to reset bluetooth settings. I cleared my bluetooth devices in the stereo setup, but to no avail. Can you point me to instructions on a reflash?
I am having the same issue. I have 2 other bluetooth devices that my G3 will connect to and playback is fine for as long as I have battery life. But when connected to my Pioneer AVH-x2600bt, I get constant skipping after 2 minutes of playback. I can pause it for a couple of minutes and when I start playing again it's fine for another 2 minutes. I have done a hard reset on the Pioneer and reconnected my G3 but no change. I have unpaired and cleared all of the bluetooth data in my phone and reconnected, no change. All of the Kit Kat OS devices I have still work fine with the Pioneer but none of the Lollipop devices work. I emailed Pioneer, their reply was for me to take my deck to a service center. That will do no good. One of two things needs to happen, Google needs to update their bluetooth firmware or Pioneer needs to update the firmware for the AVH-x2600bt. Until one of those two things happen I guess I'll be using stone age technology, an auxiliary cable.
Thank you, that is all.
Hello
I can't sent the music to my car radio according to the version of Android. In version 5.0 with different kernel that doesn't work, and with 5.1.1 (blisspop) it works. I 'm preferred the custom rom because I like some features. Someone have a solution or an explanation of why?

Android Auto connection issue?

I have the Pioneer 4100NEX and Android Auto was working great with my M8 but it's not working with my s6.
When I plug it in I see it tries to launch Car Mode and it shows an error message on the head unit asking me to check my phone. I plugged the m8 back in and it loads right up.
Anyone having this issue or is it working for you?
I stopped the car mode app but I can't disable it.
I am also having connection issues with the Pioneer 4100NEX and my GS6. It just will not work with Android Auto.

Bluetooth Not Connecting - Worked Previously

OK, so I got everything working on my unit back in November. Bluetooth worked fine and connected with my phone and OBD device (OBDLink LX).
Suddenly within the last couple of weeks, it's stopped connecting. I have tried rebooting the radio, unplugging/replugging my bluetooth OBD, unpairing the phone, repairing, etc... Nothing seems to work for more than a few minutes. Sometimes it will work for one trip, but then the next trip it's back to REFUSING to connect to either bluetooth device. Remember - BOTH worked before, and I didn't change anything.
Since it's happening with both my Phone and my OBD device, it appears like it is a fault in the stereo. I really don't want to do a full factory reset as that would entail many hours sitting in the car wasting gas idling while I reinstall/reconfigure EVERYTHING only to not even be sure it won't do this again.
Anybody have any tips on something I can do to fix this? There does not appear to be any kind of "unpair" option in the bluetooth settings on the radio itself. I'm wondering if there's a way I can manually reset just all of the bluetooth settings - blow them away and start over without resetting the whole device.
This is a pretty big deal - one of the #1 reasons I bought this device was for OBD datalogging. If that feature does not work, I will rip it out of my dashboard and ebay it. PERIOD...
Adcice?
Nobody?
I tried changing the bluetooth device name, changing the PIN and re-pairing my devices. They work intermittently, but 90% of the time won't connect, or if they do, they won't stay connected.
This is turning my radio into an expensive piece of garbage...

Try keeping wifi on all the time (even if not actually connected to any network).

I do have Wifi on all the time. I have an LTE Hotspot I keep in the glovebox of my car that powers up as soon as the car powers on. So there's 100% wifi coverage for my stereo no matter where I'm at.
I can randomly get it to connect, but it won't stay connected. When I'm in the bluetooth menu, the devices will actually disappear from the paired devices list. Both paired and available will go blank just suddenly as the devices drop off. Then they'll reappear on their own. So it appears to be the bluetooth stack is crashing - but I'm not sure why.
It is a KLD RK3188 unit. Running latest MCU (came preloaded, just bought it in November - I haven't put a new MCU) and recent firmware, which is a stock firmware, not MalaySK (MalaySK doesn't support the digital display below the screen on my unit)...
At this point this unit is trash if I can't keep Bluetooth working more than 10% of the time.

Some smartphones might show an incompatibility with the radio's BT stack. To be sure try with another smartphone.
I would see if it pairs reliably with just one device at a time. My phone has issues connecting with the HU if I first connect my BT headset to the phone but works fine if I do it after. Also the construction of these seems to be sub-par and it could be the bt device or antenna in yours was not connectec/mounted well and you hit a pothole and now its not attached/broken/loose. It may be worth opening and looking inside for something that broke off or is loose. Finally, I have had (well still have) my factory settings change randomly and have to go in and reset. There are settings in the for BT module and it may be worth looking to see if yours are correct.
I also have problems with mine but I'm running Marshmallow in my OPO. As soon as i go back to Lollipop (CM 12.1) it works again.

Turns out I think it's the OPO. Mine has issues even with 12.1. I think it's based on Modem version not firmware version. Your modem may have been changed when you went back to 12.1.
For me changing modem versions is something I really want to avoid. I hunted forever for a modem version that didn't constantly drop WiFi and LTE, finally found one, and I think that's when the Bluetooth issues started. Every time I flash a modem to the OPO it becomes a nightmare. That phone really does not want you messing with the firmware which is not what I expected when I bought it.
For now I'm back on my old Nexus 5. No problems. I may just sell the OPO and never stray from Nexus again.

Hmmm.
My OPO doesn't connect to the headset but my chinese BT OBD dongle connects fine and works.
I have the same problem with my unit but phone working.Only obd2 adapter some times not connecting.Have you find any solution?
I have a similar issue with the Pixel XL.
Previous I was on a Nexus 5 Bluetooth worked perfectly every time without fail, could make calls, listen to music and sync address book no issue.
Now since moving to the Pixel XL I have an issue connecting to the head unit. The head unit shows as a connected device, but then flashes green then grey, green, grey showing connected, disconnected... I can still stream music from my phone over Bluetooth, but voice is not achievable.
Like suggested it's likely to be the BT stack in the handset rather than the head unit as works fine with Nexus 5. Highly frustrating and likely no fix unless it can be patched by software update
I'm also having the same problem as you noodlemctwoodle on a Nexus 6P with 7.1 developer preview.
I've un-enrolled from the beta program this morning, waiting for the ota to come down, as soon as it does will re-test and let you know if it's working, as I suspect it is a problem with the bluetooth stack in 7.1
MTCD MLT (Xtrons TD618AS) Bluetooth and OBD Reader
I have had issues with the Bluetooth on the MTCD MLT V1.76_1 (Xtrons TD618AS).
I found a work around which allows me to use the OBD reader successfully. I downloaded an Android Bluetooth App and toggled off the Bluetooth. Once the Bluetooth was toggled off I was able to access the OBD reader by using the "Piston" OBD app. I tapped on the car picture and waited for the app to think about things. Once the app finished thinking I was able to start capturing the live OBD data by pressing the play picture. I am only speculating, but I feel as though perhaps the firmware engineers goofed. This is even the OBD reader that Xtrons promoted as compatible with the TD618AS stereo I bought with it at the same time. Not to mention that I continually lose FM radio even though the stereo was professionally installed and no wires were cut. I was very excited, and now only depressed.

Which Bluetooth app did you download?

Android M 6.0 and now Bluetooth Low Energy has stopped connecting

Hi,
I have an LG G3 D852 which I just upgraded OTA last week.
Initially the BLE was disconnecting and reconnecting frequently and now it will not connect at all.
Has anyone heard of Marshmallow frying the BLE portion of the Bluetooth hardware?
In settings I am seeing "Unavailable" beside Bluetooth Address, but nothing is currently connected.
Regular Bluetooth is connecting to my wireless speakers without issue, but my Fitbit and Withings watch will not connect anymore.
I performed a hard reset (Volume down and Power buttons) and this did not fix the problem. I am forced to use my old Nexus 4 to connect to my devices.
Any thoughts?

connecting two bt devices

Hi All,
My OP5T is running Android 8.0 with Oxygen 5.0.3, I have it paired with smartwatch (Samsung Gear S3). When I pair it to the car BT system (Renault R-Link2) it is a hit or miss: some times it connects some times it doesn't (if I disconnect the smartwatch the phone always connects to the car). Any one has a similar issue and found a workaround?
thnks/Pella
Same issue here...
Wonder if it's not rather car related, had the same issue with my nissan (nissan connect) and my GS8.. Sometimes everything was fine, sometimes I had to resync like it's a new device.
I've heard the car's softwares are messy things, very badly coded, full of bugs..
I have same problem.
As a workaround i go into blue tooth settings and turn off ability to make calls from Samsung gear.
It just has problem deciding what audio device to use. to bad you cant set priories anywhere
