G4 Android 6.0 Audio Noise, Buzzing, Crackling - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Don't know on Lollipop because I bought the phone and the same day installed Marshmallow.
GSM Line is instable most of the time going from full to zero and so on, but anyway.
Used bluetooth speaker, phone connected in wi-fi, audio is ok no problem.
Connected wired headset, phone connected in wi-fi, audio full of skipping, various noises that seems like kernel, wi-fi module or gsm radio related, the phone do this while screen is on but a lot more when screen is off.
Tried various headset, tried with all combinations of wi-fi, data, plane mode on-off, gsm modes.
Always the same.
Is your G4 acting the same?
I've just read a lot about LG G3 and more of this problem in the past.
Btw, I have a LG Bello and is not acting like this.

None of that here. Return the device?

[Q] No sound from any device output, other than bluetooth-connected device

Having an issue with no sound emitting from any audio output on the phone, but sound will play through Bluetooth-connected device. No sound from front speaker (phone calls, dial pad), no sound from rear speaker (notifications, ringer, alarm, media) and no sound from wired earpiece/headphones. Seems like it's stuck in Bluetooth/headset mode, but turning off Bluetooth doesn't restore sound. Problem is intermittent, haven't determined pattern to the behavior.
Phone was rooted long ago but kept stock ROM. Flashed Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 about a month ago, and problem seems to have started shortly thereafter, but not sure if related. Haven't tried to reflash.
Any suggestions? Tried searches, but didn't locate this specific issue.
SGH-T999 (US/T-Mobile Galaxy S3)
Is it a T999 or a T959? And flash back to stock.using Odin. If it still is a problem it's likely hardware related.

Sorry, phone is T999.....got rid of the T959 long ago, but must have been stuck in my head.
Will reflash this weekend and hope the sound issue is resolved. Thanks.

Did some more investigating last weekend before flashing ROM (never did the reflash).....seems that often, not always, if I turn off the car ('13 VW) while still connected to phone Bluetooth, the phone's sound quits working (all sound). Rebooting phone and turning off Bluetooth does not restore sound. The only solution I've found is to reconnect to car's Bluetooth, then turn Bluetooth off before shutting down car, and that only works about half the time, but sound is instantly restored. My estimation is that this wouldn't be hardware related, is that a fair assumption?
I also have a Tasker profile set up on phone to disable PIN lock when phone is connected to Bluetooth device (enables Sena Bluetooth headset used with motorcycle helmet to function properly), could that be causing the problem? Anyone else experience this issue?
Please try another Rom. Some of the Custom Roms may not be uptodate with CM Checkins. This issue was reported a bit back. There were CM Code Fixes that may not have been incorporated in that rom.
I am using Slimbean 2.0 (Android 4.3.1) and have seriously tested its bluetooth capabilities.
its also been reported thst msny car manufacturers did not bother to put any time or money into their BT capable systems. they just threw it together so they could add to feature lists.
Lots of peopke have problems with BT in the car, especially on cm roms. but those are notorious for BT issues to begin with.

Thanks for the replies. I flashed to Paranoid Android 3.99.1 RC1 but the problem still exists. I never had this issue with any of our vehicles, until switching to PA from stock ROM. If problem becomes unbearable, may go back to stock. Thanks again.
@yardsale
I should have mentioned in the previously. Please read this post of mine. Yes its a different Rom. However, here primarily the issue is that of hardware antenna of the T999 talking to the Car's antenna. Doc is 100 % correct, the manufacturers do use substandard Antenna. On that thread, someone else reported issues with two '13 VW for themselves and their brother's.

Bluetooth Audio Stutter

Hi all, got my LG G3 D855 yesterday moving up from a Nexus 4. My first impressions where mixed, the screen was certainly a massive improvement but the phone feels incredibly laggy in comparison to my Nexus 4, but I was willing to work with it for a while. This morning I've tried linked my phone to my car's Bluetooth just like I would with my N4 to listen to music on daily commute. However I've noticed that around 3/4 a mintue the music stutters - only when the screen is off. I tried both Spotify and Google Play Music, having the same results with both.
Anyone else with the same problems / know how to fix this? It's incredibly annoying and could easily be a deal breaker for me.
I have the D855 3GB, I don't have any BT issues (using it in the car and with BT headphones). Did you try to delete the pairing and re-pair the G3 to the car BT ?
I have the Nexus 4 too and I don't feel that the G3 is laggy as in your description (it stutters very rarely and this started to happen after I installed Xposed and some modules).
Mine is a 2GB version wonder if that is causing me some of these problems
If it's when the screen is off, it sounds like the phone is trying to save power with the cpu and is causing problems. Changing the buffering might help if you use an app that can do that, or disabling this feature of the phone could work too.
I've been using my cars built in Bluetooth audio, and also through jaybird bluebudz. Both work perfectly with no issues whatsoever, I'm in a European 16gb 855 with 2gb ram. I'll continue to test, but it's worked very well with mp3 through the standard music app

Do you know what version of bluetooth your car has and if it uses Apt-X? It could be that it has trouble with certain formats, or could just be an individual problem.
Sorry i don't know, it's a seat alhambra 2013, touch screen and built in. There is very little documentation on those things in this car. I'll Google about the jaybirds later on, but they're also very new.
I have a similar issue with tunelink auto bluetooth receiver in my car, but audio works just fine with my jbl flip speaker at home...
There is a issue with bt sound when running art I heard.

I've tried closing down all other apps and turning everything else off Wi-Fi, NFC etc. With regards to changing the buffering do you know of any apps that would allow me to do this?
Confirmed it was enabling ART that caused the Bluetooth audio to stutter. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for letting us know. That's a big deal for me. Also in case the problem comes back, I haven't ever used a music player that didn't come with the phone so I can't help you there.
Are any of you guys able to voice dial over bluetooth by pressing/holding the bluetooth button? Redial works fine just not voice dialing.
Im using a D855 32gb

Are you using ART or Dalvik? I don't have the phone, but this is an important feature to me. Strongly considering this phone, but I don't want to lose features such as dialing a call with a bluetooth device.
Does Google Voice Dial not pop up?

Sorry for the late reply I was on holidays. I'm using Dalvik. Holding the headset button does nothing, double pressing the headset button does redial the last number. Google Voice Dial does not pop up. I've tried multiple headsets from different manufacturers with no luck. The BlueAnt headset says that this feature (voice command) is not supported by this handset.
There is a work around to re-map the redial button but its not the best option and only works about 60% of the time. It also costs a couple of bucks but that's not a big deal.
If you have a Android Wear device you can dial from that also.
Bluetooth Voice Dial missing is a huge disappointment for a flagship phone.
Playing around with a G3 at an AT&T store, I connected my bluetooth earpiece to the display model. I long pressed the earpiece button and a LG dialog box popped up asking what I wanted to do, listing a call xxxxx command. It listed names & numbers. I use a Plantronics earpiece. It's older, not the latest & greatest, but can be had for under $20. Does anyone else see this?
The AT&T is a model D850, if I recall correctly.
Hi there
Sorry to reopen this thread but I have noticed that I am getting audio stutter since upgrading to Lollipop. Doesn't matter which audio app I use, it happens all of them for me. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have this issue still also. On ANY Lollipop stock LG software or rom, it stutters, but on AOSP it doesn't. I even emailed LG about it to only receive a snotty reply telling me that as I had installed a custom rom my warranty was void and they wouldn't help.
Has been driving me mad for months, small but very annoying blemish on an otherwise near-perfect phone!

H815L Bluetooth audio problem

Hey guys ,
So iam having a problem with the bluetooth and its just making me crazy.
I have a BT system in my car (Seat leon) , the phone should auto connect to it and it does , but it only connects to the phone option , not the music streaming option.
IN the phone BT menu both calling and music is marked as active , and yet it wont connect to the music thing , only if i manually disable BT and enable it again.
Please note that none other phone had this problem , my iphone 6+ never had this nor the note 4.
Please help.
I have this exact problem with the H815, and the same car!
Strangely, the very first time I paired it the music audio worked fine, but every time I've tried since I've hit this issue. I even tried re-pairing and it still hit this issue. It seems like the car half thinks the music profile is connected, as BT appears in the "media" input options, and it even comes up with the track name that I was last playing (although this might just be the car remembering it). But sounds doesn't come through, and audio controls don't work.
I didn't see this precise issue mentioned elsewhere (although did see various other complaints about this phone and car BT audio), so I'm wondering if it's specific to the Leon or that's just a huge coincidence?
Well i dont know if its a car specific however , i did try several other phones and so far only the G4 has this problem.
Honestly iam considering replacing it since i always listen to music from my phone , and i have a 1 hour drive to and from work every day...
Such a small thing and such a big impact , unbelievable.
Works perfectly with the H815L on my car. I can hear music, television sound, recorded files,
radio station from tunein radio and everything else... It's not a problem with the device but rather with your
car system or you don't know how to operate it correctly...
dilgit ,
Did you even read what i asked ? , every thing is working when i connect it manually , but when i enter the car and it should connect automatically it connect only to the BT phone function rather then both phone and media options.
When talking with carkit it always cuts voice after 1-2 minutes ,I must press Bluetooth icon on call screen to reconnect again
Hi chundrik,
Have you solved this yet? I am disappointed that theres still no software update to fix this (version 10b for H815 didnt help). I mailed LG who say they think its a hardware fault but seems unlikely to me?
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Free mobile app
Fixed it! Turned out the leon needed a bluetooth firmware update. Not the phone's fault after all!

Just curious, how do you go about updating Bluetooth module in your car? I've never seen an option to do that in any of the cars I've had..

This. I'm having the same issue with my sonata. Never had this problem with 4 previous android devices

I just googled it. Turned out you can download new firmware and stick it on a usb drive or cd and the car loads it automatically!

Same issue with TaoTronics TT-BR03
If have exactly the same issue with TaoTronics TT-BR03 (bluetooth hifi car adapter) . First connection is good, reconnecting fails or only connection for phone calls is established. If I press play/pause on the bluetooth adapter then the sound starts and stops from the phone speaker!
I suspect there won't be an update for TaoTronics...

Bluetooth connection quality

Anyone else having issues with the quality of their Bluetooth connection? Never had issues in my car before but now every call I make or receive using Bluetooth in my car has terrible quality, static, disconnecting, can't make out what the other person is saying etc... music connection has been fine so far only other issue now is certain playlists don't sync from my library to my phone on play music. Did not have any of these issues with my s7 very annoying. On latest Verizon firmware and software for my car 2013 s4.

Weird issue, it's just always static. Music plays fine though. I dont know just reset my phone and Bluetooth in the car, we'll see if that fixes it or not *shrugs* apparently a bunch of people are having the issue though

I've had a few issues with what seems to be the Bluetooth not connecting in the full AD2P mode, which puts the audio in a very low bitrate mode that makes the audio sound like it's coming through a walkie talkie. Turning the device off and on usually fixes it. This issue goes way back across android versions, basically all my phones have had this issue from time to time. Resetting it will usually put it into the proper mode.

I had not had any issues but have not connected to my car yet. I do use my Samsung Level U bluetooth headphones and they are great.
Just an update, ended up doing a full factory reset and repaired with the car and now connection is improved! Still get some static but nothing like before!

Phone switches to device speaker even though bluetooth is connected

With all my phones until now, if I had my Bluetooth headset connected (and the Bluetooth symbol indicating that), the sound always was sent to the Bluetooth device. On my previous phone, I could switch the output if wanted to, but it never changed by itself (unless another device was connected).
With my Pixel 3a XL, it seems after a while (without any sound) the output switches/defaults to the internal speaker/earpiece.
Anyone else has this issue? I tried googling it and I am getting results of people that want to actively switch the output device.
Does anyone know how to make the phone to not switch output devices by itself (unless a new device is connected)? or to always default to Bluetooth?
For me, this is the only annoying "feature" of this phone. Otherwise, I am loving it.
That's not really a thing. I've been using TWE buds for the better half of a week now and haven't experienced this issue once.
Could it perhaps be that your headphones/buds sleep after a while and get disconnected from the device? If that's the case I can see why the device would switch back to regular speaker output.

They are still connected and this is with at least two different devices.

I got this issue only with my deck in my truck. I have countless other devices that have zero issues playing music thru it except this phone. Thank jebus it's cheap and I won't feel bad if I throw the thing in the garbage
Same problem here,i have to turn off and on Bluetooth on the phone every time i connect head unit in my car, it's very annoying, it works fine with my earbuds,i often regret buying this phone
I have a 2014 Honda CR-V.
No Bluetooth issues here.
Stock Android 10.
I seem to have fixed my issue. I'm rooted and I had Android auto frozen for whatever reason, unfreeze and everything works as it should

Thanks, I'm going to try this, i always freeze Android auto since i never use it
Sorry for the late reply. After further investigation, it seems that my issue is mostly happening when I get in and out of my car: the phone switches from my headset to the car and when I am out of the car to the phone and not to the headset even though it was still connected. I can deal with that.
Some other time, not sure why, only one app will use the phone instead of the selected headset. I had to disconnect and reconnect the headset for it to work since toggling the sound output didn't help. This only happened once.
