Hi,
I can't find a stock FM radio app on my ZF2 ZE551ML.
Has this been removed from lollipop? I've searched online (including xda) but no clear answer.
Cheers
What ROM are you using? Custom ROMs don't have FM Radio yet
I'm on the stock ROM.
Maybe you deactivated the app. Check in settings/apps/disabled if it's there
thanks but settings->apps shows only 4 tabs: downloaded/movable/running/all. there's no "disabled" tab.
I'm on ZF2 ZE551ML
Cheers
I just checked in my apps and I also don't have a radio app. I have looked through all of my apps and I cannot find a radio app.

Yes, you have to flash the zip file with Team Win Recovery Project recovery.

I tried on a AOSP based ROM, but not on my ZenFone 2. The device has to be rooted.
Not working on ZF2
You can try to flash the stock ROM, if you want the radio app and all the ASUS stuff.

Hi,
Can't I just download the apk file of the stock radio app for ZF2? is it available anywhere?
Cheers

haha didn't check the date! Thanks for the heads up! I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a radio that gives good battery life. What radio would you recommend..?
I've found that the newest official Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 (from the link in your signature) gives me the best battery life and I've tried almost all radios.

Nice1 thanks. I used it a few weeks ago and then changed for some reason, prob just to see what else was out there. I recall it being excellent.
So, is the radio's performance dependant on the ROM in way way? Also, what RIL are you using?
Not really no and almost all roms are based on the official gingerbread update and the radio came with it so the roms should be optimized for it anyway. RILs should always match the radio you're using, but the newest custom roms should already include the matching RILs for the radio I suggested.

THX I NEED it
the newest radio is the best mate...
Just posted this update in the Recommended ROM/RADIO/RIL/KERNEL Combinations thread..
Flashed the Telus radio: 12.35d.60.140fP_26.06.03.24_M2 and it's using 3-4mA per minute in stand-by. It's pretty much the best I've tested so far. I'm going to stick with it: http://www.multiupload.com/4CQ8919NO6
what ril are you using with that radio? This one 12.35d.60.140fP_26.06.03.24_M2
the 1003g one? I;ve tried flashing that ril and cannot get it to work?

The RIL's in my signature.
Remember, you have to mount /system in cwm before you flash it. Just look in one of the menus within cwm and you'll see mount /system. Select it and then flash the RIL as your would flash a rom or anything else, from your SD card.
A while ago I rooted my DesireHD and installed a custom rom.
After that my GPS didn't work anymore..
I tried a new custom Rom and tried updating 'Radio' with another Rom / Update.
Now, all my apps crash that use GPS, which is kind of a problem, since I use Google Maps & Navigator a lot..
Can anyone please tell me what a good DHD Rom / Radio is these days I should use, and how I can install these properly?
Thanks!

If you use CyanogenMod, you now get the FM radio if you use a 3rd party kernel like f93 you get more features too. There's also Xposed Framework for even more customisation. I'm using CyanFox with Solid Kernel. Battery life is brilliant. If you want more help, just ask.

If you don't have F Radion on stock, it means that your model doesn't have it. No hardware for FM Radio. You can use internet radio apps.

I use stock rom, CyanogenMod 10.2, then Cyanogenmod 11, then MIUI, PAC, Omni, Vanir / Commotio
I do like cyanogenmod but the last update that I have probably have a bug, I can't call anyone after plug an earphone, the only solution is to reboot.
I try PAC, having the same issue like Cyanogen, I guess because it share the same build with Cyanogen.
then I try mokee, first I thought by using this ROM i won't need to download 180MB daily for updating my ROM, but in the end I don't like it.
then I use MIUI, I do like the UI, but ES File Explorer can't work in this ROM, don't know why, Root Browser is okay though. use this ROM for 2 Weeks.
then I flash again to Commotio Vanir, this rom is quite perfect, no automatic updater tough, so I switch to Vanir AOSP, this one have an updater, I think I'm gonna stick to this ROM for a while.
is it just me or the servers of cyanfox doesnt work?

Not sure if the asus app will work on CM, you could try this one thats made for AOSP roms on phones that have a radio receiver
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mikersmicros.fm_unlock
Theres a free version that may be worth trying first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/spirit-fm/app-spirit2-free-source-real-fm-radio-t2951455
You can try the one that I have on Google Drive.
It might work, might not.
The file flashes both the Asus FM Radio app, and the service app that allows it to run.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2OJIWJ3yAeBMVFCRnhXVDd4alE
Spirit FM won't work on our phone yet (Spirit1 never will, Spirit 2 may down the road if the developer can add support for whatever radio chip our phones use
thanks for the response guys, i tried the stock asus radio and its service app but unable to install. so i guess we have to wait then..

I was just trying to help. Helping is not bad, but criticizing someone for being helpful is a whole different thing. How much time did you really waste by opening play store and seeing that the app is not compatible? And I'm waiting for the 5.1 update before buying a ZF2.

Yeah I don't think they work on CM, but if you want them for any reason, I keep the updated add-ons in the second post on my ROM thread.
The second post is HERE
I do kill the old links when I update the add-ons, so if you find links to them anywhere other than that post, they won't be alive for long. I update them on each new base.
Yes, I saw and tried it but as you said it won't work; from what I learnt because of missing kernel features. I'll try to understand why, since it seems the kernel should be compiled from Asus' sources in the AOSP rom I'm using...

Hello guys
a few days ago i installed a cyanogenmod v14 on my phone
i like the built in camera
i searched and found the name of the camera = Snapdragon camera
wonder is there any Snapdragon camera ported for LG G3 stock rom ?
there was a thread for LG G2
didnt find any for lg3
Same experience, i tried cm14.1 and liked the camera. Eventually i got back to fulmics and tried to install cm camera from a backup (from a cm13 installation) and then through an app I found in play store that downloads cm apps for other ROMs.
As expected it immediately force closed but i still hope something can be done about it. Waiting for good news

this app works great, struggles a bit at focusing during recording, but still gets the job done, images' sizes are even heavier than the ones taken by aosp stock camera (twice the size), the only problem is that it can't save to the SD card.
There is a porting for Nougat? I use RR based on Lineage OS (7.1.2)
I confirm it's working on RR5.8.3 Nougat 7.1.2 flashed by TWRP3.0.2-0
